  • While I've been really excited to be back in person classes/college, it's been a little overwhelming. - especially since I've been so used to being at home and having all my diabetic necessities near me in reach. In this video, I take you along in a week in the life of a college type 1 diabetic!

I’ve been a type one diabetic for over eight years and I’m also a freshman in college. Do you have any tips on how to manage mental health with diabetes and have you ever experienced issues with neuropathy?

I always try to remember that no matter what's going on in my life, my diabetes management should be a top priority! I personally have no experienced issues with neuropathy so unfortunately I probably can't be of much help with that.
I do suggest that when it comes to mental health and diabetes, try to surround yourself with people who care about you/your diabetes. It can sometimes be difficult in college and feel lonely which can be overwhelming. But being around true friends who care about you and your well being will encourage you to take care of yourself too :)

300+? How are you feeling? Is that confirmed by blood test? That’s super crazy.

I definitely was not feeling good - in the past, I was always able to figure out the cause of my blood sugar being high if it went like that. This was some freak reason because I kept changing my pump sites and reservoirs but nothing would resolve. It was confirmed by blood sugar testing too! It resolved after about two days but I still have no idea what was going on.
