Below Seoul’s sewers and regular subway system, construction work to build the GTX, or Great Train Express, is in full swing. This is set to be the world’s fastest underground rail network - with a maximum speed of 180 km/h. Yes, this is another one of those future-meets-reality things, with the promise of traveling right from the far reaches of Incheon to Seoul in around 20 minutes. That is a journey that would be around an hour at best right now!

Korea always leading the way with the greatest solution to modern city's problems.
This is like an express subway or something it seems?
It's going to be great once completed!

Not really...it's an adaptation of Paris's RER network ("reseau express regional"/ regional express network). While Seoul is indeed a great transit city, Paris has actually been the one to pioneer all of these different modes of transport and continues to stay on top, with its latest GPE project ("Grand Paris Express" which aim to build 200 kilometers of new metro lines operating higher speed trains), due to open from 2025 and be fully operational by 2030. The Seoul's project, apart from being similar in it's scope, is also very similar in it's naming (GTX vs GPE). Regardless, Seoul continues to be very advanced in terms of transport, on par with Paris

10 billion dollars is a lot of money but it's actually fantastically cheap for how much they're building. In New York, you'd be lucky to get 10km of subway for 10 billion.

The only downside is that it's all underground. I like looking outside at the surrounding environments.
Oh well, I'll take 20 minutes to Seoul from Incheon over 100 minutes anyday.

It’s not all underground, there are a lot of parts where they run together with subways and trains

Hoping there will be an Equivalent of GTX Network in Metro Manila Called FTX or Faster Train Express So That Commuting to and From Metro Manila and its Satellite Cities Within the 300-500km Radius will be More Easier and It Would Boost the Economy of Neighboring Provinces of Metro Manila and Foster Growth Many Satellite Cities and Urban Expansion Outside of Metro Manila in Provinces Such as Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Pangasinan
