    Hey, I asked you about buying one of the older generations pre-owned and went ahead with it a while ago. Just wanted to update on that, had some issues with prints so I contacted Qidi. Even though I wasn't the one they sent it to, had no warranty, they still offered to ship me all of the upgrade parts and only charged me the shipping. I was beyond impressed. Between that, full refunds, pulling the printer and then releasing a fixed version, I honestly don't think I have ever heard of better customer support. Very awesome moves on their part.

    It's a rare company that does anything to actually fix and support their products this well, and you have to applaud that. It looks like a full re-design. I wonder if this was the intended one, then someone said, let's make it cheaper, hence the first one.

      Will you answer some questions? What is the useable print size? I see in their klipper config they have X max set to 280 and that makes me think the real useable size is gonna be something like 270x270. Does the nozzle go past the bed on any axis, so the nozzle could purge into a bucket and use a nozzle brush?

    The best review I have found on CZcams for Qidi Tech. The details you provide are exceptionally well presented.
    I just bought the Qidi Tech Smart3 model for $319, this will be used while at my second place and will serve to replace my Creality Ender 3v2 which I heavily modded the past few years. This was machine allowed me to learn at great depths how to get good 3d prints. My new Qidi Tech Smart 3 arrives tomorrow, looking forward to initial setup and run.
    I am trying to decide on what larger format Qidi model to go with later this year. I do quite a bit of printing with NylonX and other materials which require a heated chamber. The Smart Max3 looks great, and the price looks good. I wonder if they have done any modifications to the SmartMax 3 since the initial release like they did with model you reviewed here. I am very impressed with their support, appears to be second to none.

    Qidi's handling of the whole printer release is one of the big reasons I am getting an X plus 3 delivered today instead of a k1 or a p1s. I can't wait to move from a highly modded original ender 3 to the qidi as my main printer.

      To be fair, Bambu never released anything with so many significant hardware and firmware issues. Buying from a company that released completely half-baked hardware just because they decided to fix it is kind of a weird rationale.

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 9 měsíci +9

      @theglowcloud2215 If I make a mistake and work hard to try to fix it, I hope I won’t be shunned forever and given a second chance at some point. Also, this machine runs open source firmware and doesn’t start by-itself at night or spy on your every interaction. That’s probably worth a second chance alone. Although, Bambu fans literally don’t care about kind of stuff at all. And that’s ok.

    Seasons Greetings Fedor, I hope you are doing fine?
    I have some great news, I have just ordered the Qidi X-PLUS-3 directly from their UK store, It is on sale now for £5.29.00p which is £10 less than Amazon UK.
    I got as a new customer another 5% discount as well off the sale price and have got it for £502.00p the printer be delivered between 1 to 3 days since it coming from the UK warehouse.
    I am so pleased to be able after lots of saving to get such a great deal and my 1st fast enclosed 3D printer.
    Thanks for the review you did of the updated printer after the problems the early one had.
    At last I be able to print fast and detailed all those higher temp filament like ABS that my open frame printers can't.
    Just as well too since all of mine are playing me up big time either hot end blocking or leveling problems.
    So I thought I tell you I soon have this printer. 😊

      Awesome! You’ll love it. It is my go-to ABS machine because of the chamber heater. I use the stock Orca Slicer settings and even the filament settings there and it’s great. My advice is to give it a good head soak for 15-20 minutes before large abs prints and it kills it. Great prints, every time.

    Thanks for the nice review ! How does the print quality compare to the K1 (after updates) ? I am ready to take the plunge on the X Plus 3, mostly because I have the feeling it needs less tweaking and puts out better prints consistently but also cos of the additional print area .
    I really hate how bulky it is though

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 8 měsíci +2

      I like the K1 for its compact size and build quality. Now that it’s open source, you can do fluidd and the like so thats all gravy. However, in print quality, the Xplus3 is a bit better. Especially ABS/ASA with the chamber heater. Also you’d need 3 Xplus3’s to be as loud as a single k1. That thing is LOUD.

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Linear advance is always there, but it’s on you to do. Now with Orca Slicer, that calibration is super easy. So no worries there. As for the cutter, yeah, looks like everything is there for it minus the cutter itself.

    Awesome review, as I am deciding between the P1S and this. Big thing for me to decide is: bigger print volume and wider range of material possibilities OR possible support for AMS. It shouldn't be tough, but it is. Only thing that could be done to improve this review was better closeups on the printed parts. Too much light and no camera focus on the prints sometimes, which makes it hard to see print quality/defects.

    Great Video again. Hi Fedor.. I am thinking if I can save up the huge amount the X-Plus 3 costs ( at least £729.00p on Amazon UK )
    Then after seeing your review and the great amount of good user reports I will try and get it?
    I did think about getting the Creality K1 but he build area is not as good as the Qidi X-Plus 3 with that heated chamber.
    I did think of getting the Bambu P1S because of the AMS but the cost is higher than the Qidi.
    The K1 now here on Amazon though is down in price at £599 but they even offering £160.00p off it too. wow But again the X-plus 3
    although more bulky still I think is better?
    To me this be a big amount to spend far more than any other 3D printer I have brought sofar, But if it prints like you showed it is worth it.
    By the way, I ordered as you know the BTT Pad 7 for my Elegoo Neptune 3 Max and others But I still waiting after ordering it 23 days ago now!
    Why the wait time? well, even though I am in the UK and the parcel was sent from Germany with the company telling me it take up to 7 days!
    Seems the good old greedy UK Customs told the Royal Mail here the hold n to it until I paid a big £32.34p custom import fee to release it to me?
    I paid online on the 31st August and they took the money out on the 1st September, and still 8 days on no parcel delivered.
    I have emailed the DHL mail of Germany about this since they did the main delivery transporting to the UK, I emailed and complained to the Royal Mail here
    about the payment done 8 days ago and why are they hanging on to my parcel still?
    No replies yet? If I don't get a reply from the Royal Mail ( they got the parcel ) I may have to complain to the mail ombudsman who over see the companies here.
    So I am not a happy bunny! This all happened because since we left the EU the UK had to do new import rules this year I read, they said any parcel imported from the EU
    must be charged import fees. Now I read the main online mail payment page after paying and saw that they should not even had charged me any importing fees.
    Because it said no import fee for any parcel under the value of £135.00p, Mine cost me £109.00p as it was a direct on sale item. So I pointed this out to the mail lot.
    Next time I make sure I get the parcels from any other place than the EU, as none of them have this charge. So stressful.

      It uses a fairly standard 3mm bed with a magnetic sheet and PEI. Not the same as the Max3. Without the cutter you just retract the filament and purge like any other machine. You can also cut and purge out if you dont want to pull the filament out.

    I can not decide between th Qidi x-max or the K1 max. I've heard so many bad things about the K1 max, but there is also the mod community with the Creality machines that are already making improvements on it. Thats a good evaluation. The qidi has less nonsense on it and no one had to squeeze them to make things open source or give us control. Which is nice. The main difference between the two is how compact the K1 Max is. Itll fit inside the X-Plus3. Let alone the MAX. If you have the room, you’d be happy with the Max. With that said, Creality legit put out their best with these. Now that they are updated, the machines have been very reliable.

      No, you do it one time during setup with a provided piece of plastic paper and clear instructions.
