Monk's block chords behind the soloist are spectacular.

I just LOVE how Monk's ivories and Charlie Rouse's sax wrap around each other, like two serpents making love. Two men, four hands, twenty fingers and one brain. Pure telepathy and quintessential Jazz!

We find that the African elephant brain, which is about three times larger than the human brain, contains 257 billion (109) neurons, three times more than the average human brain; however, 97.5% of the neurons in the elephant brain (251 billion) are found in the cerebellum. 6:25

This is some of the greatest, most underrated ensemble playing ever. Monk was light years beyond other “Greats” on so many levels.

"Underrated" is one of the most used words about you tube's music comments. For me there are two problems: 1) you don't know the sense of this word; 2) you don't know jazz music and jazz players. So, this big quartet was not underrated, is just the true. The maniacs of "underrated word" must study...or your world is a terrible underrated world? Maybe you feel underrated.

This song is like Monk teaching musical theory for how he manipulates and innovates the melody is a new type of syncopation in JAZZ,and it's very understandable how he and DEWEY could come to blows about the interruption of this Jazz classic standard
