Sure the animation is poor, but the story it's telling is worth knowing. What's happening is that the old woman died in her chair ( hence why she looked dead when he woke her up as a younger version). She died and got up, danced, turned young, and waited for him so they could meet. What really made me sad was that her cat was still there after she died. Who would know if she died and to take care of her cat? Her cat just lost her owner. That's pretty sad.
This reminded me of my grandmother,who passed into Heaven a few years ago,when I was 16.I miss her still,and think about how happy she must be to be in Heaven with her husband who passed before her,and how she must be happy to be healthy and well again.I love you,my mommy,Joann Sanders,and can't wait to see you again!
but i think she died, when she was sleeping. and reborn her young self, to see her dearly beloved husband. in heaven in the afterlife. now that is Freaking romantic . and retro and beautiful, and i like the song. from 1950 or 1945 song can't tell .

I love the 50's/60's theme. The graphics seem like The Sims #2, but it was a cute video.
In a lot of short animated films I see with a grandma, the grandma/ old lady is always living in a lonely house that looks like they live in the middle of no where.

I was totally scared of this animation when I saw her dancing...

I feel that when she seems to go to sleep, she dies. And when the radio changes, it basically a signal showing her that she has passed, and when she wakes up and realizes *What I'm guessing* that she can move swiftly, as if young again, she begins to dance, enjoying her time being able to move so fast without it hurting or anything, and I think is like her ascend into heaven, and as she slowly turns into her younger self, I think that is when she is truly in heaven *As also the glow from the room when she is fully young* , and when her husband come in the door I think this is her own personal wish that he had for most of her life. That her husband would always walk through the door, healthy and alive, an her wish was granted.
Now, as for when he walks through the door, you can kind of see the shock in his face, I think that he had somewhat of the same process as for her, becoming young and seeing that his wife is healthy and alive. And I'm guessing that maybe he had being waiting outside of the house for her the whole time he had been in heaven. And when he knocks on the door and asks if "Somebody is there", he is more or less trying to wake her up and basically say "We are young and together again"...And as for the wink? Yeah, I think that was just to make her happy and laugh.
And as you could probably guess, that song playing on the radio in the beginning is basically saying "This is your last day here on earth", that is a pretty easy one.
My other theory is that she is either dreaming of all of this, or in a coma *

At first I was disappointing because it looked like a blocking animation with little to no shading, but the meaning of the story was cute and made me overlook the quality. I loved it!
The animation is "meh", but I like the message still.

This is cute. The song reminded her of her youth, so when her husband came home, she imagined that they were both young again :D

I loved this story, but would have loved to see their lips move and show expressions a bit more. The decor and music were excellent.

Lol, they say when you die, your soul goes back to when you were at your best, apparently hers was back when she was younger, some people say the age is about twenty-five-ish... the old woman remembered when she was happy with what looks like her late husband, ( taking it from the black ribbon around the picture). She dies and is thrown back into time, to when she was at her best. Very heart touching video. ^-^
That was the style back in this old lady's day so I think its perfect. :)

Ah, how much of the stuff of life is contained in this short video! We are young, we have hopes and dreams, the world seems so huge... we age, our world gets smaller and smaller... even our bodies close in on us (joints ache, energy dims, etc). But happy is the person who never loses the young person inside of them... and happier still are those for whom the end ... is the beginning! Excellent film!
I thought she was dreaming when the radio went crazy, but officially died when the radio knocked over. then in the afterlife she was finally able to reunite with her old boyfriend/husband in their youthful form.

This was actually a beautiful story.
old age can be boring and not wild,but it can also be youthful! its how you spend your time is what matters. life is so short...why waste it? when you finally realize you've aged and want to have fun and do whatever...it's over already. why grow up so fast when you can just live and love life?! stay young while you can! cause one day you'll wake up and realize you've either wasted your life or regret not not living it!
Why is everyone complaining about the animation? Could you do better? No? 'Kay then. ._.
the animation is horrible
I think this is important to help people realize aging. We all have times of reflection. If you ever had a painful loss, you will get her dream. Her youth is tied to her love and missing him and their times together. Not matter your age, you'll always have youthful memories of loved ones. The years even make it more dear to remember, but also brings wisdom from the experience.

Perhaps you misunderstood. The old lady died and the last thing she was thinking of was her youth and the young man at the door was her love who had died before her and he had returned to take her with him. (The hip retro music is rock and roll, common in the years of the ladies who are now quite old) This is a beautiful explanation of one womans death experience.
Grandma sure can move! Next time I go to my grandparents Im gonna ask my grandma if she can dance somewhat similar to this.
My husband died and hope to see him again and be toghether in heaven one more time, I love him and miss him so much.

In the beginning when she changes from old to young when she turns on the music means it doesn't matter how old she is, is how old she feels.

Great video. The high production values stood out.
1) The old lady is a widow who listens to sad music, kinda of waiting to die as she already feels dead and lonely and looks at past pictures of her love
2) The old lady sits down, closes her eye, and passes away from old age
3) The radio awakens the old lady- just because she died doesn't mean she's really dead
4) She starts dancing and starts to feel alive again, like she use to in her youth and becomes young again
5) Her love comes for her - she's in heaven (I assume)

Being an amateur does not remove one from criticism. Many of the short animated films posted on youtube are posted from class projects, hobbyists, and small studios looking to get noticed. The good ones are not the ones that make a perfect first film (as that is likely not going to happen). the good animators are the ones who take the criticism and make their next movie better. I don't think saying that a work can't be critiqued because it is amateur is kind. I believe they can do better.
Ok, so I think that the old lady listens to the music and starts dancing, whilst she's dancing she either has a kind of flashback, when her boyfriend comes, or like what other people kind of say. As long as the music plays / the radio's "alive" (doesnt break) then she's alive. But the music was very old, probably when her and her sadly dead boyfriend dance, so she died/ had a flashback of then.. When they were both dancing. I hope I make sense! :3

This is what i understood.
Old lady remembering the old days.
She dies in the rocking chair.
Her lover (the dude) shows up to either welcome her to heaven or to take her to heaven.
Either way they're both dead.
Something like that.
I hope my life will be like this....living out my years with someone I love, and when the time comes when one of us will pass away, we will have times we can remember of spending time with each other.....and then one day joining them in heaven..its a sweet thought you know?? :)
