- I don't expect a base Malibu to have dynamic handling, or great seats or stereo. It is a bread and butter mid-sized car built to suit 95% of buyers, at a competitive price. It is very nice for what it is, has good fuel consumption, and is tops in initial quality.
One point I missed was the terrible throttle and transmission response. A 5 speed manual would solve this.
I LOVE how the big front of it looks.
Are you sure you are reviewing a Malibu? I own this same base model Malibu. We just drove it from Ontario Canada to Tennessee with 4 people in the car. Not one complaint about the comfort of this ride. The Malibu has the ride and handling of cars that sell for double the price. The only thing from your review, that I agree with is the throttle responseon take off is slow, but when passing on the road, it goes! The Malibu is also extremely quiet inside. Great car as far as I'm concerned!
There is a silver dash kit for gm cars. Scosche and Metra make them they are the same model as the regular one they just end in S as In silver, also seats are only really stiff when the vehicle is new and its because they are made to deteriorate less, I am 6' 3" and I work installing sound systems and I don't hit the headliner with my head.
i expected more from 'car of the year'. its competition is no better. it's a first year car. they now put the same tires as the upper level cars, which solves a lot of the handling gripes i have. the stereo trim is a minor gripe, however i can't live with stock audio.
This review seems to be based on SPORT/LUXURY CAR STANDARDS when the Malibu is clearly mid class/size AT HALF THE COST of a BMW/BENZ. I believe the Malibu is more then acceptable for a mid class car and a excellent effort from GM/Chevy. O yeah.....and it actually looks better then many cars in its class if not a few luxury cars as well! The Malibu sales and awards speak for themselves. Please leave the car reviews to the professionals!!
The fact of the matter is that this is a completely biased review. Did you lose a race to a malibu in your prius or something?
You say you're reviewing the Malibu LT but the title says LS. Which one is it?
your not making a review you are only pointing out the negatives (if you dont like the malibu dont review it. the malibu is a great car with excellent gas millage
this is a crap "review" lol malibu is a great car. I love mine. best car I've owned, great drive and really comfy. I'm 6' even and I fit wonderfully in this car, unlike the 06 altima, I feel big in.
I could care less what you think. I told GM the exact same stuff and they paid me $1000. your inarticulate opinion paid me nothing.

aesthetics aside, this is a cheap car. i love the buick regal, based on the same platform, but they really missed the mark on the malibu.
