Challenge details:
Participants are required to share a video (reels and shorts count) or image of a postcard each day for the entire month of July (31 postcards in total).
Only share one postcard per day.
Each postcard must contain an element produced on or by a gel plate. (brayer-off papers and digitals are accepted).
The postcard can be decorated in any style and the gel print element does not need to be the focal point or main element.
Each postcard must show a number to represent the day it is posted upon e.g the 12th July has to have the number 12 on the postcard. The number can be any size and in any format also the number must be on the front of the postcard as part of the image.
All postcards must be 6”x4”, can be either landscape or portrait, if mounted the final dimensions must still be 6”x4”.
Postcard corners can be straight, rounded or snipped.
Social Media and Posting:
Participants are encouraged to use the hashtag #GelyPostcardPlay when posting on any social media platforms.
CZcams creators should use the hashtag in their video descriptions or titles.
Suggestions:
Participants are advised to create playlists for their CZcams videos, photo albums for Facebook, and boards for Pinterest to easily organise and share their content.

What I love about this is the encouragement it gives to make art a daily habit. And making things a postcard size makes it more achievable.

You know what I did before I purchased a gel plate, I looked here on CZcams for a DIY one and made my own. It was good enough for me to play around on and decide it was going to be worth investing in a professionally made one. So, those that don't have one could maybe think of doing that as well. 😊

Just found out about this today. Getting out my gel plate, paints, prints etc. I will share in my Instagram and TRY to share in Pinterest.

Ceri...for those who don't have gel plates, a piece of glass (say out of a picture frame) a piece of plexi glass/plastic, or any non porous surface can work just like a gel plate, especially for a work that is only postcard size. Fun to experiment with.

Leigh everyone is welcome, the channels I listed were just my friends who helped me make sure this challenge would reach a large audience. Make sure you hash tag #GelyPostcardPlay in all of your posts and then everyone will also see the posts and I can also promote them.

Just take it slowly, have fun with the challenge, please do not feel obligated to complete it. Health comes first.

Another alternative to a gel plate is a piece of heavy cardboard covered with aluminium foil. Was introduced to this idea at my art therapy group and had loads of fun.

Oh! Talk about a challenge! I have yet to start using my new gel plate, but now I know I have to start by July! It's a good thing I have been watching you and Makers for a while! I have a feeling that I will be making 31 4x6 card fronts, since I am used to making greeting cards. But using gel prints on them will be something new to me, and I'm excited! You have inspired me to get the ball rolling!

Susan each day I’ll pick up a postcard and go with my gut, currently I’ve a list of ideas but that’s all……no theme just an eclectic mix.

Are the digi "trim kits" in your Etsy shop created from your Gelli plate? I don't have a Gelli plate therefore I want to make sure I purchase the correct ones to use in the challenge. Thank you! ❤

I'm seriously considering doing this challenge, lol. I'm on Prince Edward Island, if anyone is interested. I'm thinking of of doing shorts or shorter videos, something I don't really do, lol.

You can design the back in any way you wish or not at all.
Would love to participate, but dont know if i can handle it. As yet i have not used my Gelli plate. Nor do I know how to hashtag a post. Meybe ill figure it out. Could use a challenge right now.

I’d say if you can’t post every day then have fun with the challenge and post when you can, one postcard at a time would be preferable as that’s one of the rules. I think if you posted multiple postcards in one post then other people may not be kind in their comments to you, I’d rather everyone just had fun with it.

Definitely and I’ve already started a board on my account for my own postcards so let’s flood Pinterest with postcards in July.
