Hey Captain, I was 24 in 1976. I wore an Omega Speedmaster Mark 4 for most of my military aviation life until I could afford a Breitling Navitimer. I always say those senior aviators wearing the Rolex GMT they got overseas, but it wasn't until my wife allowed me to spend the money on a new one a couple of years ago, that I now wear every day. Now let's talk about how many times I have bugged you about doing a video at the Marine Corps Museum. I think your audience would be interested. Finally from an old soldier to a young Marine Semper Fi!!
My fascination with watches was swimming with my dad and seeing his diving watch turn silver when viewed underwater at an angle. I was sold on divers at that moment.

My wife bought me an Omega Planet Ocean for our twentieth. It keeps impeccable time and looks great...it's all I need.
I feel like there is a market for frugal style. Anyone with enough money can look great. Hell, they can pay for stylists. I noticed a rather well dressed homeless person awhile back and honestly, that inspired me. His clothes were kind of tatty, but otherwise well put together and frankly he's been a lasting inspiration. In short the less you have to spend, the more impressed I am that you have good style.

If u really wanna know the Cartier actually used to make those watches for the French armed forces in the first word war , even the santos your looking at was actually one of the first ( if not the first ) mens wrist watch , made for a Brazilian pilot in 1914 I believe

After researching, the Cartier Tank was named the tank by Louis Cartier around 1917 during WW1 to commemorate the French FT-17 tanks.
That EXACT Timex was my first watch also, and we’re talking about Brazil in the mid nineties. Tell you something about Timex doing something incredibly right.
Forgot to post this the first time I watched the video. The Cartier Tank design came about after Louis Cartier saw French tanks during WWI. The watch pays tribute in name and designe to the Renault FT-17 tanks of 1918.

I think the 5711 is too much hype. It’s a steel sports watch that you can’t do anything while wearing. It’s actually a very delicate (and I’ll say it… ugly) watch. It is the product of internet and social media speculation.

@@freshpressedify Do you mean on his channel? Criticism he handles fine. In fact, he enjoys and encourages civil disagreements. There are plenty of his subscribers who don't always agree with him on some of his videos. It's the people who come to deliberately post comments to tell him he's running his own channel wrong that he has a problem with. I think almost anybody would have a problem with that.
