This was incredibly helpful for me coming from a guitar perspective and to help with understanding the downbeat and upbeat. You really simplify it to an easy way to understand it.

I can rarely catch your streams live, but I always watch them later. I haven't used Bandmate much, and it probably won't ever be my go-to tab, but I learn a lot just by watching your workflow, regardless of what the topic is. Like your Metal series. I'm not a big metal guy, but watching your workflow gave me a lot of tips and ideas. As always, thanks for consistently great content.

I was early morning waking up when you did this stream. 1 thing i do in bandmate all the time is like you try a bunch of matching grooves from that list on bottom left and drag them to the desktop so i have a bunch of midi files sitting there but 1 thing i do all the time is tweak the amount controls and the edit velocity i can get quickly a heap of more variations some are actual midi files from ezdrummer and some are generated ones so i end up with a bunch of them quickly. Using Bitwig or Ableton clips page rather than the arranger linear view i just drag them in so i have a the ability to fire them off. I have a launchpad with the cells that relate to the clips so i don't need to touch a mouse. i can of course edit them in the editor if needed and record them on the fly into the linear track once i figure from clips view what sounds best. but the main point was those controls i find give me a lot of subtle changes

Do you think Ableton/Bitwih offer more than EZ’s Grid Editor or is it that you’re just more comfortable with those daws?

Shootie, you truly are the man. (Relatively) new around these parts. Your demeanor, explanations, and knowledge are next level. In my research prior to buying EZD3, your vids popped up in my research and it was your vids that convinced me to buy. Super helpful! QQ...a num of years back, you made a short tutorial on how to 'merge/combine' two different grooves but it was from 2016 (I believe). Curious if that process has changed (I.e. more simple now) and if so, if you've made an update since, and if not, can you? In any event, I'm enjoying hanging out w/ you. (P.S.... "Blame Canada!" lmao...haha. your quick/subtle SP reference joke had me cracking up. IFYKYK)

One other Q... is there any way to make the timeline in EZD3 the 'master' such that if click on (for example) bar 22, the DAW / song will play from that point? Right now, seems only way of moving to a given point for play is to click on DAW timeline.

Thank you for saying. I have not covered Song Track Editing yet since EZD3 I think. The process is the same as my old video and they also have the Groove Parts feature which is new. It's certainly coming in a video sooner than later.
There is not... Check out my DAW frustrations Video. It doesn't cover your exact question, but might reveal some tricks that you'll like.

I like it. The quick halftime feel in the intro. And the short steady double kick interlude that happens a few times.

That's unfortunate. The Mac M1/M2 seems to be really good. I'm on PC. I spent all I can on a processor. I wouldn't go below an i7 chip if you're going to invest now.

Didnt mean to bother your peace bro. Government destroyed most everything I ever worked very hard for and I'm basically insane from ptsd now struggling very hard to find peace, and what Im writing music about. Just figured was relevant as a fellow entrepreneur. Its a wild experience to live through, a large part of world wants to pretend like holocaust deniers the oklahoma government did nothing wrong destroying thousands of lives criminalizing typos to enforce a corporate takeover of the industry. Like 2/3 the world wants to sweep their crimes under the rug with medias help. Driving many of us to total madness. I was born severely bipolar and adhd. After being kidnapped and dragged off to several "'mental hospitals'' against my will tied to chairs and stretchers horribly claustrophobic in tiny closet size cages for ridiculous periods, and a couple bogus charges lost a few years over too, and more gang infested cages. I worked my way from homeless getting out after false charges to years of probation to finally achieving the life long goal owning the farm, 2023 government stole our canna farm business licenses back before I made a penny back from a massive investment that was still under construction, with a recent false accusation court summons at the end of the mess to top it off. I now have very severe ptsd. Trashing governments become small talk amongst our community here. Didn't mean to cast any negative vibe at all. Learning to create music helps my severely damaged mental health (ptsd is brain injury that causes a vivid echo of past), why I spend most my day studying music now and only work work a little on a small side business. Appreciate all the tech videos big time. Hope ya have a much better weekend and dude. Rock and Roll!! Apologize I ramble at times I've been driven to total insanity, cant say its a fun place to be most the time. It's a big help to be able to start putting it to music. The content really is awesome

It’s no bother. I don’t want to comment on this channel about politics/government. But I will tell you that I’m mighty curious what the lyrics of your next track would be like. Keep up the good fight. Wishing the best for your situation.

Thanks Shawn! Rocking Sunday to ya man I really hope the music business becomes full time lucrative for you and replaces the day job soon. Lots of upcoming civil rights protest flyer video clips music/singles and documentaries music to come in the future as I piece the musical and tech puzzle together. Deep into the whole advocacy scene trying to make the world a better place to live. Before all this I was much more leaning towards Gilmour's style and now my imaginations drifted to psychedelic metal\ ironic comedy👽 Much love brother!@@ShootieSchool

You should be employed by Toontrack so that you can do this for a living! (and do a "first-saturday-of-the-month"-showup at your current employer telling them that you don't need them anymore)
