- For 20 generations, plantation owners live the life of gods known as white supremacists. They had absolute control over everybody's life and property including white women. They bought, breed and worked kidnapped victims for FREE LABOR and sold them for profit.
There is no way I would have gotten into that pot either. Hell no. I wouldn't have even went close to it. He would have just had to shoot me.

These are just depictions, we don’t really know what truly happened. There aren’t many writing that we can find from former slaves and their accounts on how they were treated. We can only go on from what we’ve been told and even then, those stories change over time. Not trying to be a dick, just saying what truths do we really know of slavery and slave owners.

Consider the fact through out history, many slave revolts have been attempted and often swiftly suppressed. Greek & Roman times for example. Ordinarily runaway slaves/fugitives of the law were usually recaptured & either returned to their former Masters to resume indentured servitude, Sold off to another, tortured, whipped, hanged, Crucified or thrown in the Arena to be killed. That's what the American Civil war was. A rebellion for and against slavery. It was successful only because other powers, factions and entities intervened. Had it not been for the Abolitionist movement, Lincoln, the Emancipation proclamation, and an influx of a quarter of a million Negro troops, the Union might've lost. Over 680,000 died on both sides. Lot of bloodshed, both Black and White.

I barely watched this movie last night. And I must say it was very emotional. I could see where Tarantino got some of his ideas for his movies. He nailed them perfectly. Yes, I was in tears at some parts of this film. Such brilliant acting and emotion. I guess I will also have to read the book now that I know there is one.

I like your comment. You are using your head. Most of the comments on this clip were way off and unlearned. What I mean is that alot of people say " I would have killed them both." So would I. But in reality, that's easier said than done. I had a great Granmother who's folks were slaves and she being born free told me much about those times. If one looks at this clip and uses tactical logic one would see that it would be a very short lived victory. The checks and balances of those days were like Nazi Germany if not worse. And for a person with family...that is a very hard choice to make. Being totally single and no strong links to any other slaves...the act of vengance is much easier to accomplish.
