You guys are slowly becoming my fav trucking CZcams channel. The quality + information transparency is unmatched. Thank you for putting all of this great information together for aspiring owner ops like myself. Your videos are extremely helpful. Cheers to a great 2022! 🥃
Hands down the most informative channel I've ever found for Canadian trucking info. Thank you for putting the time and effort into this channel. You deserve all the success you are seeing on the platform!
Your honesty make you my favourite trucking channel and if you continue on this lane you will be the biggest and best trucking channel in North America. Thank you for all you do !
Thank you so much for this information y’all have been the best channel I’ve viewed. I am about to make my move into independent trucking and you guys have helped me so much plan in preparation for this great move. Thank you so much.
This s powerful and informative! Av just registered my trucking company here in Zambia yet have not yet bought a truck, I appreciate your information and even from previous video, it's arming me to do a correct job
We love yor channel. You might consider a database management consultant. A specialist could make your data pulls less painful. 🙂 Thank you for the great content! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Ronen. your videos means alot to those of us who are new to the business. you really do well on cost & comparison. Thank you and happy New year.
One of the best informative channel I have faced, really enjoying the info that you guys sharing, it's been a few days following you and learned a lot of things. Hope someday I will be one of your company drivers too.... 😊😇🙏
Great video Ronen! The breakdown & contrast with company driver was superb. Showed lease operator can be a viable option for those who can't afford to become OO. Happy New Year to you Sir and the ET Transport team!
Thank you Ronen for this very detailed information, now at least I have some idea. I loved to watch all of your videos… cheers to you and to the team… now thinking to go into trucking and move to canada… thanks… watching from Australia👍
Good , thank u so much, am thinking of starting trucking as a new life work , am fifty now, and I am really enjoying the information you are putting out there
Do a pay comparison between an owner operator a lease operator and a owner operator with there own authority.... that would be really interesting and very useful information to all truck drivers and help us decide which would be the best route to take as owner operators
marvelous video and what today's drivers need to see esp newbies..what the lowest Driver would make compared to a lease of same because you start low then grow in this business
Once again thanks for the good information I'm a newbie so you could be lying to me but it doesn't look like you are. Seems to me you put out some pretty good honest information and I greatly appreciate that I'm going to use it to make decisions off of for sure
Thank you for the video! It's yet another example of why I like this channel so much. Hard numbers from a transparent company are extremely helpful for those of us weighing the differences between the two options. Tax situations can vary, but since the potential refund was discussed, we should try taking how much is paid into them to begin with into consideration. After all, the final, money-in-the-bank income is the most important figure. I suspect ET doesn't handle the yearly taxes for lease operators, and therefore you would not have access to those exact numbers. Theoretically, including tax burden, the lease operator is probably netting closer to $90,000-$95,000. It's still an advantage, but feels like a lot of extra risk for a relatively minor reward. Other factors need to come into play at that point. How important is it to have your own business, with the freedoms and responsibilities that come with it? Do you have pride in owning your own truck, or plan on trying to keep it after it's paid in full? Do you have the capabilities to manage a budget and balance the books (be honest with yourself)? Do you have enough cash in reserve for unexpected problems?
Thanks for these videos. Absolutely want to see the break down of flatbed lease operator video. Seriously considering making the move. 23 years driving under my belt and have looked into ET as a high candidate to do so.
Hey Ronan! Thanks for this wonderful information that you've shared so far, I really appreciate your effort on bring this information to us. Do you have any idea on joining the trucking industry in CA or US from Nigeria?
I guess the lease driver doesn't have to pay his income taxes and other taxes that the company drive pays. Because the "gross" for the company diver is not much less than the "gross net" of the lease truck.
Not to mention that the lease purchase driver also has equity in the vehicle with his payments upon successful completion of the contract.. so one could generalize and safely say twenty to thirty per-cent of the payments made that year will be equity..
Hey Ronen. When converting from US dollars to Canadian when is the conversion done? Is it the rate at the time of the transaction or when the statement is produced? Can make a difference, especially on the fuel. Keep these videos coming. Great info for the guys/girls in our industry.
im from hamilton ontario and almost done my first year trucking and these guys are rock stars to me ... hey buddy can you make a video on investing in trucks as an owner instead of being a driver
@@NorthAmerican-Trucking-News yea that’s paying 12% off each load and $250 week for cargo insurance. Had 20k in repairs this year and last year. Might be time to buy a new truck. Going into 2022 closely looking at my first 6 months of revenue and repairs. Own authority is the way to go but would need a spare truck because down time kills u.
Lol Definitely agree with Brian’s Microphone. Good luck finding a good carrier Make sure u read reviews and talk to drivers within the fleet. Best of luck
Great Vid, very informative. I am a Rookie metro driving Trucker from Auckland, New Zealand and enjoy the content on your channel, keep up the good work. Question, what comparable hours do the drivers work in a week or 5 or 6 day period?
Ronan, what did the lease operator pay for income tax? You HAVE to put that number out and subtract it from the lease ops' take home pay, because you've done so with the company driver. It's not really an accurate comparison without figuring income tax for both.
I will do a separate video Each driver is different I might need only 40K to live while someone else needs 80K But I will go into detail when I do that video. Thanks for the comment Happy New Years.
exactly what i said to myself .... where's the income taxes on that lease operator ?? so i guess we can say the company driver made around $102k and the lease operator around $117k gross on that year . not a big difference between the 2 amounts . so in my opinion it's not really worth it to lease BUT lease purchase option is a different story since the truck is gonna be yours after a certain amount of years . leasing only is pretty much paying for that company truck ... company ain't paying nothing ... you pay the repairs and after the 3 years ( in this case ) you give the truck back with all new parts you paid .
After taxes, the lease operator makes about the same. Difference is equity. Or as he mentioned wealth. The idea is you buy the truck at the end of the lease. And that’s where the wealth or equity comes in. You’ve invested in your future. All at the same as a company driver. But a $3,000 raise a month after purchase. You can’t get that kind of raise in 20 years as a company driver. Yes you start saving some of that for a future investment in equipment but it’s giving you wealth until then.
U can pause the video and take an image of it, unfortunately I don’t have. A place where u can have the data. Stay tuned, more great videos coming out.
We have 2018 freightliners in the company that I drive for. Seems like they are always in the shop for something. I'm shocked at the low amount of cost that they came up with.

Great information. That’s what i made being leased onto a company out of NJ. Grossed $229,000 netted $146,000 after tax took home $106,000. Local.
Thanks for sharing

@Paul Smith $40 a hour net profit.
Your content is excellent. You have convinced me that a lease to own is in my future. Brian needs a better microphone.
Lol
Definitely agree with Brian’s Microphone.
Good luck finding a good carrier
Make sure u read reviews and talk to drivers within the fleet.
Best of luck
@@NorthAmerican-Trucking-News well I can't come to Canada, all I have is a regular passport. And I can't drive 65 either.
Interesting 🤔 , from Minnesota

They work a maximum of 70 Hours in 7 days then they reset for 36 Hrs
Very important video Ronen I am now where there
Thanks for the comment Derrick
Ronan, what did the lease operator pay for income tax? You HAVE to put that number out and subtract it from the lease ops' take home pay, because you've done so with the company driver.

I would like to add to your point that the reimbursements should also to be deducted from the payout to lease operator as it is not income!
exactly what i said to myself .... where's the income taxes on that lease operator ??
so i guess we can say the company driver made around $102k and the lease operator around $117k gross on that year .
not a big difference between the 2 amounts . so in my opinion it's not really worth it to lease BUT lease purchase option is a different story since the truck is gonna be yours after a certain amount of years . leasing only is pretty much paying for that company truck ... company ain't paying nothing ... you pay the repairs and after the 3 years ( in this case ) you give the truck back with all new parts you paid .
Minus 22% for uncle same federal income tax plus self employment tax and maybe state tax if he lives in such state
Wish you guys were closer to me I would consider working for you as lease purchase operator.
I didn't find truck registration expense which is around 2k a year and also HVUT 2290 Tax which is 550$/year

@@NorthAmerican-Trucking-News Ok. Thanks. I will be watching.
Same as with the Flatbed Division comparison, the driver number is after taxes but the lease operator is before taxes. So, not an equal comparison. :?
I appreciate your show! Say your name more though!🙂
In the calcs you showed payment for approx 145k miles but fuel for 124k, what happened to 20k miles worth of fuel?
good info
