    FYI: those triangle trim panels inside the side view mirrors DO NOT just "come off real easy" as demonstrated in this video, unless they're already broken. Each side has several plastic pieces that wedge into the door frame and are easily snapped off. If yours are like new, please be careful not to break them all off like i just did. A flathead screwdriver is enough to gently pry behind the panel and ease the trim away from the door frame. Start at the top and feel around for where it's not flexing, and gently pry there. Good luck.

    THANK YOU!!! This works on a W126, 560 SEC as well with just about every aspect being identical. Couldn't find a proper video and this IS IT! Didn't break a thing! Not an easy job if you don't know what you are doing with just about every car. AWESOME! I'll subscribe to give you a "reward" and pat on the back for this.
    My 560 is an 1989 so finding a new panel or parts is not easy if you break anything.
    Thanks again!
    Pete(Los Angeles CA).
    p.s.
    I'll post a link on a MBZ forum I belong to for other 560 owners.
    Nobody had a video, just descriptions which are not even close to seeing in being performed.

    Thanks for the video, very helpful although on my car I didn't need to remove any of the seat control buttons. the whole thing came out, with four small plugs to disconnect from the back. I am troubleshooting the door lock not operating the central locking.

    normally there is a control arm for the mirror mine is broken so I don't show it in this video. u will need a small flathead screw driver to remove the clip from the adjustment knob

    If I'm trying to remove the entire door, is there a way to uncouple the wiring harness of the door somewhere by the hinge?

    Just bought one of these and that locking ring is missing, any idea where I could find it?

    • @TrainerTakumi
      @TrainerTakumi  Před rokem +1

      The locking ring is not as important as I thought. just make sure the panel is installed properly and it should work fine. I would check ebay

    • @Snickerbocker
      @Snickerbocker Před 9 lety +4

      Yes. Same procedure. Be extra careful removing the seat adjustment "box." There's a tiny clip on one side that tends to snap off. The whole thing is pretty straightforward, but a PIA. :-)

    When my 200d starts on the first 5 mins the panel makes a vibrating sound until the car warms up.

    • @TrainerTakumi
      @TrainerTakumi  Před 4 lety

      Could be a worn engine mount causing excessive vibration once the motor warms up the engine smooths out
