    This awesome wooden roller coaster gives you an incredible view of Lake Erie at the top, before plunging you down a drop (that's bigger than it's height!) into a truss over a road! It's got some wild moments, and absolutely deserves its nickname of 'mini Voyage!'

    This coaster just proves why The Gravity Group is the best manufacturer of wooden coasters. They know exactly what they're doing and the experiences they can create are so wild and well designed, as well as unique. I've only done one of their rides, Twister at Gröna Lund, which might be their weirdest coaster, but even that is a fantastic ride in the back and I loved it. I can't wait to try something bigger like this from them

      @@kylebetz9684 I think this is a bit of a generational thing. I have been out of the coaster enthusiasts groups for maybe 15 years now and just getting back into it. And back when Shivering Timbers came out it seemed highly acclaimef, coveted and covered. Def one of the coasters I wanted to ride the most
      Hell, even Raven at Holiday World was still getting more love. But as rides have deteriorated and technology/designs have advanced, the top coasters that I used to know have taken a back seat.

    Think about it: This was in 2008, when The Gravity Group was only 3-4 years into its existence, and already, you could tell how they were going off with a bang with Hades, The Voyage, and Ravine Flyer II. I mean that's amazing. They're all amazing rides and The Gravity Group deserves all the respect they get in this industry. I mean granted, they were engineers from Custom Coasters International, so they do have years of experience prior to The Gravity Group being started, but it's still crazy to see just the first few coasters they made right from the start.

    The best thing about this roller coaster is you can just go in for free and with one of the swipe cards you can pay $5 to ride and then go home. As a local, I've been known to do just that! The second best thing is because this is in a lesser known park, you can ride this coaster MANY times. Line is rarely very long.

  • @Coasterlover72
    @Coasterlover72 Před 2 lety +3

    I was just there recently and absolutely loved that ride. Interesting history as told by park staff is that the original Ravine Flyer closed because someone stood up on the bridge over the road, fell out and got hit by a car.

    Rode Ravine Flyer II on my way from Cleveland to the the Finger Lakes, NY. I had heard a lot about it, and driven right by Waldameer on I-90 at least 6 times, but in 2021 I finally decided to hop of the highway and try it. This is an amazing ride. I ended up marathoning it after I rode the other coasters in the park, and I couldn't get enough of it. What a hidden gem!

    With the lift walk in mind, it seems like you had extra access to the coaster than most would and that shows in the footage you've edited and displayed. It's been really awesome to see this channel's skills progress and this is definitely one of the more unique visual reviews Coaster Studios has ever done. Great job and look forward to more.

    My one, and possibly only, opportunity to ride this coast was simply unforgettable; aside from the cool family atmosphere of Waldemeer. Especially those views will stay with me forever.
    I can see why it's underrated as because of the park's remote location, its not on people's radar or leaves their short-term memories. For me, the coaster was similar to both Phantom's Revenge and Lightning Run at Louisville since they were all initially unassuming. Then you ride them, and yeah, I definitely got Voyage vibes especially from the way the ride hugs the terrain and the spaghetti bowl.
    Definitely a worthwhile trip for anyone and the park itself is just simply chill

    Yes, totally agree! Why is "this coaster on Lake Erie" not talked about more? It's my 3rd favorite coaster on Lake Erie. It's my favorite view on any coaster, and my # 4 ranked wooden coaster overall. It does slow down some at the end, but so does El Toro, so I'm not really bothered by that, because everything up to that point is so great.
