It's his earnings that he's giving back to the community, not the corporations money.

Juan isn't stealing from anybody to give back to the poor; he's earning the money and then giving it away.
There's a pretty big difference in both of those approaches.

I can never get over the fact that he’s walking around the restaurants handing out money telling people to tip well, and he still gets sour faced members of staff wanting to kick him out for recording.
Yeah. Imagine being the "you can't record in here" guy. Forever Alone.
They have orders, and they don't want to lose their job.
Now imagine this. One of the people in the restaurant complain to the manager that someone was filming them. The manager finds out who was on duty that day and fires the guy. The staff have rules to follow, and no amount of "comments on CZcams" will get them their job back if they lose it. So don't blame staff for just doing what they're told.
