I might be looking at it too deeply, but the separation (pause) can also translate so something else. It makes it work like two sentences in a way. "I'm hating myself because you don't want to..." If you separate it, it's like Ariana is internalizing all the negativity that he feels and thinks surrounding all of this convoluted situation. He doesn't wanna direct any of these negative feelings towards her, but her noticing how much effort this takes, she decides her own negativity to influence her self worth. Then the line "...admit that it hurts you" is like Ariana wanting to push him to admit that this situation is affecting him, but he does not as to not push the narrative that his feelings are a burden to her, since she is already dealing with so much. I dont know what to name myself it is super sad but it the final part is also imo easily the most beautiful thing she has ever done and maybe some of the most beautiful music i have ever heard. The song helps me have understanding; I'm the Pete and he's the Ari, except these days he can leave me alone so much and just keep me in his phone. Only a few weeks later, she started dating Pete and after a few weeks they got engage. Everything was fine till Ariana found out that Mac died due to a drug overdose.

I dont know what to name myself it is super sad but it the final part is also imo easily the most beautiful thing she has ever done and maybe some of the most beautiful music i have ever heard. I was never a huge fan of Ariana before this album. Her talent was obvious but I'm a person that loves to connect with an album. This Queen gave us an album that gives me every emotion and she stripped herself bare for us within her words. If this album doesn't leave you shook, girl can't relate.
