For teachers, parents and adults: This video follows an inquiry model. It is designed to encourage young students to be curious, ask questions and investigate through everyday subjects.
I ask questions and urge students (with your support) to find answers. Your role is to encourage the curiosity by guiding young learners' questions (rather than just providing answers.)
    Prompts you can ask:
"What kinds of trees are in the video?" (Birch and cedar trees)
"How are the two trees' barks different? Similar?"
"What does bark do for the tree?"
"Should you peel bark off a live tree?"
"What part of your own body what acts like tree bark?"
"How long does it take a tree to grow?"
    Extensions:
    Write or talk about trees.
Draw a picture of a tree and create a pattern for the bark.
    Plant a tree.
