Mighty fine shave Paul! I've been really enjoying Taylor of Old Bond Street's Grapefruit. The robins are back and I seen sandhill cranes yesterday. The river has open water but the lakes and ponds are frozen with over two feet of ice still. We are 50 miles west of Lake Michigan and 75 miles south of Lake Superior and the seagulls stay year around, mostly in near the fast food joints, never seen them like that back in the 50's and 60's. The crocuses are due up soon but we are weeks away from other flowers, so thank you for the burst of color Mrs. H! Hope you two had a fun adventure. Take care, Ossie
Nice shave Paul! We have a lot of seagulls in my area also. They congregate in the large parking lots and eat whatever they can find. When cars drive close to them they get up and fly just far enough not to get run over.
I agree with you on the Yaqi orange brush handle as well.
Happy Sunday Paul! Stunning flowers by Mrs. H...she is magical. What a shame about the gold paint leaching off that new brush. I think I said before, your Gillette Aristocrat is of the 1946/47 Vintage. I have on just like it and it is a very comfortable shaving razor. For me, it shaves my upper lip area the most comfortable of any razor I own. Having said that, it doesn't shave as close as I like. That is a great looking shave Paul! The free range eggs and farm fresh bacon sound so good. I buy my eggs and ham from a local farmer and they are so much better than anything from the supermarket...enjoy! Thank you for sharing. I have that same era razor and love it every time I use it. Found it in its box in an old junk shop and paid 15 dollars for it so those old razors can be found,and it shaves like it’s brand new.. have a great weekend Paul and give mrs. H thx for the flowers
Good Morning Paul. Nice shave and the flowers look great. Well, I just received my 2 Gillette Slim line razors back from Back Roads Gold and they look great. One I had replated in nickel and the other one I had replated was Rhodium. They both look so good I do not want to shave with them! I had to take over another drawer in the bedroom for all my shaving supplies and that did not go down well....I may have to move to Wales because of that "take over". Anyway, have a great Sunday and a healthy next week.

Great shave Paul. I do primarily a cold water shave each day. I get irritation a lot due to being an older man with sensitive thin skin. The cold water does help.

Still new, but today’s shave was a lesson in aggression. Started a few weeks ago with a van der Hagen razor which was fine, but for the last 6 shaves have used the Parker 99r, which for most gents is not too aggressive. But I noticed a lot more blood and not as smooth a finish, so in the middle of today’s shave I switched back to the van der Hagen, and man, what a difference for me! I now understand about aggression, and will leave the Merkur Futures for now 😏!

That's a 46-47 the 48-50 had notches on the ends of the center bar to grab blades out of a blade dispenser. I love using mine. Nice shave :)

This was a sort of "Date Night(albeit in the daylight ;-)" Shave...This particular razor was a perfect choice for the task. :)

Second time out for a Voskhod blade

Old Spice original aftershave
And a vintage Gillette ball end Tech. Not sure how old but it came off Ebay with a price tag of 3/6 so predecimal anyhow.

Good shave Paul...not a fan of anything cold except ice cream ..ESP on my face...most of my shave's are after a hot shower..with a heater in my bathroom....I like a mild menthol....followed by a warm water rinse and a hot towel ...nothing better....great razor..I'm sure dad had one in his bathroom...the brush worked well..I like orange handle as well...after shave brings back Dad memories ...The finish not Nivia ..so not for me...You can always tell a women's mood by the flowers she buys....dark or bright ...I've seen brighter...lol...enjoy your trip..see you Wed ..cheers👍. 🇬🇧 🇺🇸🐈🐈🐈🍺🍺🍺

I live in Bangkok. Ice water shaves are great when the weather is hot, and it's always hot here.
I keep my balm in the fridge, too.

Shave of the day for me is my birth year m2 gillette slim adjustable with a personna lab blue and thanks to you I'm gonna use Stirling glacial wintergreen soap and osage rub to finish it off. Oh and seagulls are protected in Canada as well, thieving beasts.

Nice shave Paul and that is a good looking razor you have there I have have eye on a couple razors not vintage like but within my budget and a few more proraso products to get and managed to get 3 sticks of parmolive that's enough for me...me thinks and looking forward to using the Derby soap stick when it comes well have a great week and take care 😀
I have finally found the shaving cream my face loves. Kapo Shaving Cream from Bulgaria. The best for thickness and slickness. Awesome stuff.

Hi Paul it’s been a while! Nice shave and a very nice razor indeed, I alway’s want to try Skin Bracer after shave cheap but seems to do the job well. Has for the soap for myself I have hard time whit menthol if it’s to much it just burn my eyes, Proraso Green is the top that I could use and even so I have to be cautious. Just to let you know I posted my first shaving video last week if you want to check. Have yourself a good week. Gino

Menthol is not good for sensitive or irritated skin. Menthol feels cold, but it actually irritates the skin. Cold water helps!

Actually, I think the Proraso says it is a pre and after shave cream on the jar.
Mine is a couple of years old now, so only says pre shave cream, works great :-)

Nice shave Paul. Eyes water a little you say? If I used that much menthol stuff my eyes would stream so much it would wash the lather off my cheeks before I could get the razor to it! I find it hard even to use EJ pre-shave cream to be honest, have to wipe my eyes before I start to shave.
