    Thanks for showing some of the uses of the Butter & how to apply it. Caring for your gear shows your pride in it and extends the life & use of it

    This is an older video but I wanted to mention that Spen from JRE Industries designed the Illuminous 5 by the way. It’s one of my favorite LT blade designs and I agree that JRE makes some great sheaths too!
    Good video sir!

    I own this knife. I can tell you it’s a cross between a bushcraft and a survival knife. But doesn’t compromise on the handling much, as in can do most tasks a smaller blade can do, within reason.

  • @isaacs_knives_and_knowledge

    Great looking blade for sure

    Some type of solid background and also where you’re not waiving the knife around might give us a better view of the knife also closer to the camera

      @@wesleyhobbs9 Hello and thanks for the questions. Because it has beeswax incorporated in the ingredients, it does repel water and moisture very well on steel, leather, canvas, and even wood handles.

    Is the bush butter better than obenauf’s for the same application of protection the blade, leather sheath, and handles?

    • @backwoodsbiker4311
      @backwoodsbiker4311  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the question. Bush Butter, in our opinion, is much better, not only because of performance, but also because it has so many more uses.

    What would you say is a better knife between this knife and the LT wright shemanese Long Knife?

    • @backwoodsbiker4311
      @backwoodsbiker4311  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the question. Unfortunately we have not seen the Shemanese, a knife that was designed by Craig Caudill, owner of Nature Reliance School, and made for him by LT Wright. However, with that being said, Craig is a top-shelf outdoorsmen that fully understands what needs to go into a knife to make it successful. Putting the actual build into the hands of LT Wright and his crew was very smart, as they are truly one of the top Knife making shops in the USA. I can't see any take-aways on the Shemanese. As for the Illuminous 5, I have been using it exclusively since the day it arrived in our office. It has been impressive all around. Let us know what you decide.

      This location is in central Illinois, which is on the very edge of the eastern woodlands.

    So would you consider this knife to be the knife in between the Genesis and Sospes?
