A recent Lottie purchase arrived without any tissue inside or outside of the handbag. The handbag was crushed into a box that was too small and the latch arrived broken. So sad. Luckily, a second bag I ordered (a large Lottie)was in perfect condition. I ordered that one gift wrapped. I recommended the gift wrap! (Aspinal did refund me when I returned the damaged handbag.) I love my large Lottie in black.
Sad to hear they did so poorly on the packaging. 😔 I’ve fortunately been loving my large Lottie too, but this reminds me I should call UPS tomorrow, because they won’t stop invoicing me for the first order that was returned.
Owh…. sorry to hear about your bad experience, and thanks for the warning to reject it if the courier asks for duties payment. Hope the bag itself brings you joy though. I love the colour, and the external back pocket! ☺️💗
Right now my feelings of annoyance are still more prominent, because my first order is still somewhere in limbo and I’m waiting for my refund. 🤣 But I’ll get over it and love this bag sooner or later.
Oh many UPS is the worst. They broke something 3 months ago and I am still trying to be fairly compensated for the order. I hate to hear that they are consistent in being awful across the world. I hope you don't have an issue getting your money back on the first order. That extra off should have been increased by the company for such crap luck on 3/4 orders. I do love this bag. I love it!!! I’m so happy it finally came. Sorry you had to deal with all the duty and delivery commotion. It is a beautiful bag. I have become more and more interested in the Lottie in the bigger sizes. I didn’t think the large would be this small but I also do like the size for it’s not overpowering. Let’s see if I indulge as well. Definitely a great bag, enjoy!

Hi 👋 Lo, oh my goodness how aweful. I would be so frustrated as well. During the busy peak times here in the states or shall I say my neck of the woods, UPS contract with 3rd party people to help get items delivered. My regular UPS delivery person is wonderful, but the back up people “dont care” I’ve received text that say it was delivered to the neighbor and actually never was delivered it shows up the next morning. Or it says undeliverable because no one home. And I’m like I NEVER LEAVE MY HOUSE I’m a hermit 😆, I’m so glad you finally received a bag. It is beautiful and I have been looking at that style. The hole on the outside of the box is most likely due to the shipping carrier, as a side note--Aspinal of London nor any retailer wouldn't have control over that aspect.
I understand Aspinal didn't put the hole in the box themselves, but I don't agree that's completely outside the control of a retailer. I've worked in e-commerce retail myself and choosing the right packaging materials and carrier is quite crucial in reducing returns due to damaged goods. Some companies cheap out on that, e.g. sending items in a plastic bag, which is their prerogative of course. Doesn't mean I'm not going to point out that the packaging they chose was insufficient for that transfer. 😅
Owwwhhh beautiful taupe lottie, i have the same size in black. Shoulder bag is one of my fave type of bag, and over time i realised the quilting is way more unique than Chanel, it looks like a dragon egg lol. To be honest the closing annoys me
I’m really happy with the taupe, but the black must be gorgeous too! Think it’s a bag I’ll enjoy for many years to come. Hope the closing won’t start annoying me, but I tend to be pretty patient with them. 😅
Tax & duties has been a pain for the UK since the Brexit. So might not only be related to Aspinal of London. A friend mine had sent a letter from UK to outside UK and she had to fill in a tax & duties form and attached it to the letter before she could send it. For a letter that could fit in the mailbox that was 85 gram (a postcard with 3 pages) I could not believe. The duties form was bigger than the envelope.
It must be such a pain and it’s so expensive too. My mom would occasionally ship a gift to friends in the UK, but she’s also stopped because fees were higher than the value of the gift and it’s just not fun to pay for a present. I’m happy we’re in the EU, or at least, for now. 🙈
What a pain. They really need to step up the duty fees process. And I would expect the parcel carrier to leave a piece of paper for me saying where exactly they left my stuff 🤔
Their customer service is really Awful. They do great during purchasing process. But after you have made a purchase it takes them forever to respond. I have ordered once And never again.
I had the same thing happen to me. I had them send it back. Horrible customer service. Fortunately, they did refund me quickly after my irate phone call.

That was an unpleasant experience and I thought you have to sign for your item…..it shouldn’t have just gone to your neighbor. Im in Australia and didn’t have problems with duties. Aspinal should be aware of problems with duties in your country by now and should’ve made a point of not repeating their mistakes. They sent my bag via DHL and no complaints with them. I think Aspinal should just not use UPS. A bit sad that they no longer send the bags in their beautiful box unless you pay for it.

I have ordered my AOL bags from Harrods. All orders were shipped to the U.S. with FedEx & arrived in a few days. I hope this info helps.

I've ordered from other contemporary brands And their packaging is so much better and much secured from what i've seen from aspinal.

I try to be mindful, because I know work pressure is high for delivery people, but I’ve just had too much annoyance with UPS. 😅
