You can still get long distance charges. My dad thought they had long distance one their house phone not long ago and made some calls to family out of state and it was 40 cent a min. They got a phone bill for almost $400!!! 😂 my dad about died over that. They got long distances added after that happened.

One thing I learn from Business 101: ALWAYS HAVE A AGREEMENT IN WRITING AND NOTARIZED!!!. A verbal agreement almost never works. 99% it would be there words against yours. Just because they are family don't mean shit tbh. That's worse. Family members will almost always take advantage of your kindness!!

If I allowed my cousin to come stay with me and he arrived with a GF, I would have set some rules if they planned staying for some time. I would have expected to be compensated, come up with a figure and have them sign a document. If they didn't agree, See Ya!
i love how the cousin and his sidepiece stayed there rent free, but expects to be payed for mowing the lawn and transporting them in a car. as if that wasnt the minimum he could do if he wasnt gonna give rent money

If the plaintiff signed a statement saying there would be rent and how much, then there was rent.
The deal wasn't done with clean hands. The paper was signed in order to get them some where to live.

Because there was never an agreement to begin with. Rent only became expected after they had started living there or even perhaps after they left. Plaintiff even said it himself.

I'm surprised JJ didn't tell her to take her hand off her hip, or to put her hands to her side. ALL of that was disrespectful directly to the Court, JJ. So, I can only imagine what went on in that house. But, JJ"s point was, they're family - no charges.
I agree. We took in family many times, Fed them, took them to work, their kids to school and money NEVER came up bc we loved them.

There was no rent agreement. The paper she signed for £600 rent was to help her get government assistance. Plus the men are relatives, so 🤷🏾♀️

If she wanted them to pay then she would have kept proof and had the agreement with the cousin too. Because he's responsible for bringing her.

I will never understand family expecting rent when they temporarily need a place to stay. Even if they were bad guests. My cousin stayed with my grandparents for a month while she found her own place to live and while she was there she stole from them, left messes everywhere, and ate everything in their home. They still never charged her for anything because she was family

My 12 year old son and I spent most of last summer with various family members. But, we bought our own food, washed our own clothes and bedding, cooked & washed dishes, cared for various pets, and generally did not make a nuisance of ourselves. THAT'S the difference. We've been invited back by all of them for this summer (we live overseas and just go home in the summers.)
Well that's dumb. And incredibly sad that the grandparents were taken advantage of in such a way. That's not how you treat family, especially when they're older and vulnerable. 😢

They get the filing fees. And at that time filing fees were $20 or less.

However, you can't complain when you don't have the cajones to say on day one, we have room and food for you cuz, girlfriend can stay tonight but tomorrow we put her on a bus back to whence she came. You can't accept the extra guests then moan about it later. However, cuz also needs to not take advantage of hospitality. That is not cool.

That plaintiff woman was a force to be reckon with, but she doesn't know when to close that mouth of hers. I've stayed at relatives house and they never charged me for anything and they took me grocery shopping so that I would have food that I would like to eat. At no time did they ask me for a penny and guess what when they came to visit me I didn't ask them for a penny either. People are greedy out there no matter what time frame these videos are done people are greedy.

My mom would have charged Joseph and Mary if they stayed at her house and delivered Jesus! Every single penny that was owed her my mom collected. She evicted a couple of my brothers and took them to court. Not all families are the same.
