You seemed to have missed a step during object grouping of the 3 sphered which are to be subtracted from the single large one. Due to this, when I apply a Boolean difference then its only one one small sphere that subtracts and not all three.
Had the exact same question xD. It think he added a Texture/Image Texture (Shift + A, to add). He got an image online. Just google "blender color palette". Just open that image inside the little Image Texture panel you just created. you should make one on just texturing/coloring
