Another good way to break them in is to toss them (dry) into a warm, (not hot) clothes dryer for a few minutes then immediately put them on and walk around for at least 30 minutes to an hour. The heat causes to the fabric to soften, and become stretchable and moldable to the specific shape of your foot. You can use a hair dryer for this, but it takes longer to heat the shoe evenly enough to work.
It's very rarely that I take the time to leave a comment... but for this video I simply have to pay my token of gratitude and to inform future people wondering if the tips work. After watching this video I was scouring the comment section to check if someone tried it and then took it upon myself. I used the sock stuffing method coupled with placing the shoes a decent distance in front of a electric heater on a low heat (please don't set your house on fire - I will take no responsibility - ) After the socks stretcher the material and the heater loosened it, my VANS became wearable... I really thought I just wasted a bunch of money on shoes that will stay in my closet as it was literally digesting my pinky toes. But no more thanks to this awesome video. I also but band-aids on my toes but I believe this was unnecessary as my feel don't seem to feel any friction... Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for your comment and results!
This is exactly my problem. Bought a pair of vans online 3 weeks ago and they are KILLING my pink toes. I'm pretty frustrated and was about to throw them away or donate them when I found this video. I'll try the stuffed socks method with the blow dryer. Will post again to share whether it worked. Fingers crossed.
@@Tiaaaaaaago What happened did it work?
this is great, i got a pair recently and so far i find vans as one of the hardest shoes to break in. your tips help a lot.
Thanks Mary, glad to be of help! Enjoy your new pair
After slicing my ankle at the skatepark on my own Vans, I’m gonna try these. Thanks.
Hope these help, bought a pair recently and my pinky toes are fkd with blisters lol. I will try the stuffed sock method.
I bought a pair of Vans a couple of weeks ago. And during the first wear me heels were LITERALLY bleeding... I got so sad, because i loved those shoes so much. Today i just removed the insoles, and ...it worked!!!! I use them all day long, and they are comfy enough. I will use your method to see if i can wear them with insoles in the end. If not will just buy new simple insoles and wear my Vans with it.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tips, I stupidly wore my new vans out on a trip to Brighton today and ended up with a blister on my right heel, fortunately there was a boots near by so I got some plasters for a quick bit of relief, plus also picked up some stick on felt padding designed to stick to the problem area of your feet, but I also like the sanitary towel option so I’ll see how it goes……..great video, thanks 👍
Cheers Colin, sorry to hear about the blister!
Great tips, i got my first pair of vans and wore them for like 2 days where we were walking alot and it was painful, and the vans still arent broken in so im going to try these
How'd the tips work?
I’m going to try the sock one, getting married in October to my beautiful fiancée and I’m wearing vans with my suit. Hopefully will help
That's awesome, congratulations!
hey man howd the marriage go?
@@plubus7148 great! The shoes didn’t rub at all it was an amazing day
Thank you for asking
@@thejokersgirl1876 hell yeah man thats awesome
Daring😂
I bought the comfy cush version. Most comfortable shoe ever. Straight out of the box.
Awesome, that sounds great!
I bought the comfycush too, but i feel it so narrow on the back of my foot… is it just me or?🤔
@@pennnnn. for me, it's too narrow at my toes X'D
Comfy cush is too narrow on my toes
These are good I just got a new pair and I’m very tempted to try one of these I’ll just have to somehow acquire a ladies pad which feels like it might be quite a quest.. also one method you could try for the front is basically how you do it with socks but try stuff it with a bunch of slightly wet newspapers or any similar type of paper and leave it overnight and as the paper dries it slowly expands and stretches the shoe
Thanks for sharing the extra tip!
The sanitary item trick it's great!
It's weird because personally, I've never had an issue with Vans being uncomfortable... however, I just got my 7 year old daughter some and they're really hurting her 😢 this is useful thank you. I'm hoping these tips can help. She's refusing to wear them though 😔
It could be because maybe she has wide feet or flat feet
Thanks for making this informative and helpful video
Aww, you're welcome! Thank you for the lovely comment 😁
I'm looking to get some opinions. My foot measurement is 26.8cm and I always get 27cm shoes.. I had little trouble with the authentic pair. But the low ski -8 pair which I just got less than a month ago, my right foot seems to slip in nicely, but for the toes on my left foot are still hurt from hitting the shoes wall.... Now I'm confused...The authentic is fine, but the low ski-8 is far away from the discomfort..
Got new pairs of Vans Caldrone. After walking a few good bit my right ankle went sore. It was just strange for me because I didn't have any problems with the vans Rowley. Thanks for the info. I'll try them on. Cheers
Ouch, good luck with them! Cheers for the comment 👍
thank you so much, i’m gonna try these out! i got Vans recently and it’s so hard to get in them without wasting 10 minutes! even though when they’re in, they’re the perfect size. :(
hopefully it works!
Good luck breaking them in! Thank you for your comment
Does this work for the sk8 hi ones too?
Great tips
I high key forgot how awful vans are to break in lol.

Great video! Thanks for these tips.

I have a pair of Vans that I received as a gift. My biggest complaint is that they slide up and down on my heel so bad, I haven’t worn them.
I bought size 11.5 vans and they fit perfectly but I returned them because I didn't like the high top feel. I'm thinking about getting another vans online thats only available in size 11 and was wondering if I could stretch them to fit similarly to an 11.5?
Yes. Im a size 11.5 in Nike shoes and I get my Vans in size 11. I have the same shoe size 11 & size 11.5 and its hard to notice the difference. Try it out. But vans are bad shoe, so be mindful of your ankles.
My new vans really squish my pinky toe, but only on the right foot. Is there a way to stretch them in that area?
Hey Jenna I'd recommend stuffing the toe box in the right shoe tightly with rolled up socks, whenever they aren't in use for a while (aim for the canvas to strain a little bit, so you know it's working, but be careful not to damage them of course). You could also try purchasing a shoe stretcher that does the toe box, not just the heel area if you want a proper solution! Alternatively, make sure to cover your pinky toe with a band aid for some extra protection, if you want to try breaking them in as you go. Good luck!
In the washroom:
“Hey Rachel, do you have an extra women’s health sanitary item?”
“Oh yeah, sure! How many women’s health sanitary items do you need?”
I just found out a great hack for it to, if you take bra pads and stick them to your actual heels, then put on socks you will hardly feet the heel part of the shoe on your heels.
That's a great idea, thanks for sharing 😊
I forgot I got vans before
i luv vans but they did a terrible job making them. the heel sticks into ur heel so much makes me wanna return then. so stuoid
Or.... Just wear them normally
It hurts
Wearing new vans can cause major blistering, discomfort, and ankle damage. Just wearing them normally will cause a great deal of pain to the user. So no we cant just wear it normally for breaking them in.
