There is another Barker piece in the cemetery. It's on the right just before you get to the Barker family that is all together. It's very easy to miss. This is definitely a big set of graves to visit so I'm glad you got to go. Lloyd Barker tried to go straight and was living in Colorado. His wife shot him on the steps of their porch. He is buried in an unmarked grave in CO. I tried to find his grave but could not. Arthur is not in this cemetery. He is buried in Colma, California. They had funeral home markers for both Lloyd and Arthur in this cemetery.

Lloyd's grave is unmarked, but I know where it is. We're trying to get him a VA monument. He served in both WW1 and WW2, and received honorable discharges each time.

@@RhettyforHistory I'm trying to locate my large copy of my Barker-Karpis book. I've got the section number and also his WW1 info in my chapter on him. I just need to get a copy of his actual prison record from Fort Leavenworth. His military records are part of his file. I was going to apply for a monument before this Covid crap started up. I'll find my book. I've got the form. Just need to get a copy of his records.
Hi Jordan, I watched an Arthur C Clarke programme years ago. I remember it showed their house where she and her son were killed, footage of them in the morgue and the house is supposedly haunted. I think only a cabinet and a chandelier survived without bullet holes after the massive shoot out. I hope the Jahster is feeling better now. Great vlog Jordan.

Glad to see you in my home state there's another Depression Era outlaw and bank robber here in Oklahoma named Charles Arthur Floyd known as Pretty Boy Floyd, a named that he supposedly hated, he is buried in Akins Oklahoma a little area not far from Sallisaw Oklahoma. He was blamed for The Kansas City Massacre by J. Edgar Hoover even though it wasn't him. He was Public Enemy Number 1 for awhile until he was killed in October 1934. Just thought I'd suggest him since your in the Oklahoma area. Take care buddy.
I visited Lloyd Barker's unmarked grave in Colorado! Very interesting to see the graves of the Barker Gang. I hope to see those someday 👍
We're hoping to get a VA monument for Lloyd eventually. His WW1 records are part of his prison record at Leavenworth. I just didn't have $75 for the file at the time. He was honorably discharged in 1919. After he got out of prison, he was allowed to rejoin the Army again in 1941 and served during WW2, and received an honorable discharge that time as well.

Alvin Karpis was a member of the Barker Karpis gang and he served a lengthy prison term. He was an intelligent man and was quoted as saying ma couldn’t plan breakfast when asked about her being the brains of the gang
Old Creepy Alvin taught young Charlie Manson how to play Guitar in prison..
Karpis was at least an intelligent criminal so I find it odd that he would even associate with a bunch of lowlifes like the Barkers.
Yes. Karpis was the one who orchestrated the kidnapping of both William Hamm and Edward Bremer. The Bremer kidnapping proved to be their undoing, because Edward's father was a close friend to President Roosevelt. Karpis got life at Alcatraz but was later paroled afte 25 years. He was sent first to McNeal Island in Washington State, then deported to Canada in the 1960's. He 'retired' a very rich man. His nephew took the loot he stole and deposited it in accounts under assumed names while he was in prison. He cashed out the money and eventually moved to Spain, where he died in 1979.
I think I might have seen that movie many years ago, I would like to find it & watch it again. Sad to say, but these type of people seem to worm their way out of the woodwork and manage to scare the hell out of us all to often. You did a great job on your homework, Jordan. It's always good to see one of your vlogs, Jordan. Jah is such a cute dog. My sister has a larger female version of Jah. She has weenie dog, Chi and Rat terrier. She loves to run up and kiss strangers. They're just friends she hasn't met yet!

Their death house is still standing and open for tours. It's in Ocklawaha, Fl, just north of Orlando. It is on the banks of Lake Weir but was originally on the opposite side of the lake. They floated the house across the lake to its present location a few years ago. Bullet holes are still visible

Great Video ,Im from Chetopa,Kansas which is 11 miles north of Welch.Ive been to Timberhill cemetery many many times as My Great Grandparents and other famili members are buried there...For years a local lady named Nadene Foust would put flowers on their graves.She would do it early and for years no one knew who was putting them there.She finally admitted doing it...I asked her why she put them on there and she told me that she just thought they needed flowers...Nadene is no longer with us but she was one of the kindest people I knew.
I currently live in Oklawaha Florida just a few blocks from the historic Barker House and the Ma Barker's Bar and Tavern happens to be my favorite local watering hole!!
Jordan, you really need to come to Ockawaha FL and see the actual house which is a historical landmark and is said to be haunted by the ghosts of MA, her sons and the law enforcement officers who were killed by them!
You need to visit Lake Weir where some of the history took place and Gator Joe's bar and grill on the lake has a lot of history with them as well!

There’s a song by Boney M that talks about her! It’s called “Ma Baker”. It was changed to Ma Baker cause cause the lead singer of Boney M thought it sounded better that way. And yes Boney M are the same who do “Ra Ra Rasputin”

I live right down the road from the “shoot out “ house in Ocklawaha, Florida. The house was moved by boat across Lake Weir to an historic site set up, about 2 years ago. On that property right now, there’s a huge beautiful house being built that overlooks the lake. They used to have a reenactment every ear on the anniversary. They stopped doing it about 20 years ago. There’s a bar right past the old house that’s open called “Ma Barkers. It’s more or less a biker bar.

You were in my neck of the woods. Miami is not a big town but there are some cool things to see in the area such as Devils Promenade, the spook light, the old Hoffman's mansion site, and Picher which is a ghost town. I live close to Miami and have grown up in the area of Miami and Joplin. It's also really cool that you knew Shelley Winters, I would have loved to have met her.

You can make an online appointment to tour the Ma Barker hideout house in Ocklawaha, Florida. The house was moved from original site on Lake Weir on a floating barge to a county park across the lake called Carney Island.

Good to see you come to my flyover state. The Dalton gang are buried in coffeyville right on the border of Oklahoma, they robbed the bank in coffeyville and that ended in a shootout and yes there are allot of pot stores.
The Daltons were (allegedly) trying to one up the James gang by robbing 2 banks at the same time in Coffeyville and were killed by the townspeople.
@@JackTheSkunk My great grandpa knew one of those boys and was invited to go to Coffeyville right before they left. He wasn't told why but fortunately he didn't go
Hi just watched your video of Ma Barker, very interesting. We live by Ocklawaha, Fla., that is where she lived and died. The town used to have Ma Barker days. They reanacted the shooting in front of her old house. They tried to sell the house for a million dollars, no buyers so the town had it moved to a park , Carney Island, Fla. People can visit and walk through it, you should come and see it. Also Ocala, Fla., has a museum here and they have pictures and things from her and the house, even pictures from the morgue, creepy. Those are the real original markers. We lived at the top of the hill where you turn and go over the cattle guard. That was our 10-acre ranch. We lived there 25 yrs. I would drive up and down the cemetery lane when I was 15 and practiced driving. The iron gates and brick entrance were added 20 yrs ago. The cemetery is on Hwy 10 between Welch and Miami Okla. Lloyd is the first grave closest to the fence! The paper marker for his grave read Lloyd aka Doc Barker. Ma Barkers original paper marker read Arizona Kate Clark. that always confused me because the locals always told us that she was up there. After visiting with Craig County records keepers that were out there last fall when I was visiting our old home place. They told me That yes, Arizona AKA Ma Barker is here real name. I was 13 when we left Chicago and my parents bought the cute little ranch, It used to be so pretty. The people who bought it from my mother have since trashed it. I'm 60 yrs. old now and have so many happy memories of that hilltop!

You have the ability to make every story intriguing it doesn't matter if I was particularly interested in the subject or not. I think you could describe the process of paint drying and make it interesting.

Read the autobiography of Alvin Karpis. He ran in the Barker gang and sheds a lot of light on Ma in particular. He let's it be known about Bonnie & Clyde as well, and I appreciate his take. Depression era gangsters were a whole different genre of evil. ... crazy because they still had class..

There are other members of the barker family buried in happy hill cemetery. Outside of Ramona Oklahoma. I have many family members buried in the same cemetery.

Lloyd William Barker is buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Brighton Colorado. His prison number at Leavenworth was 17243. He is buried in Section 6 - Blk 40 - Grave 2996.
Appropriate Jordon that next to the ,"Williams Timberhill Cemetery", is a sign setting, Dead End. Lol
