Is this a good tool for writing fiction?

Hi James, great question! Yes, it works great for fiction. If you would care to discuss further, let's have a free talk here: selfpublishingmadeeasynow.com/free-discovery-session/

I have been using Grammarly for over a year. I have one big issue with it. If I walk away from writing for about an hour and go back to it, I find that it changes the story character names to the letter I. Another words, like yesterday, I left the window open for about an hour or so, it changed the name of Gregory, Autumn, Taylor, Rubin and Lottie to the letter I. It went back in the chapter I was working on and half of the previous chapter. Any idea's of what is happening. Tech support at Grammarly don't believe me. If I don't use Grammarly it doesn't happen and I use office 360.

Thanks for your comment. I haven't seen this issue. Though, the easiest thing to do is to try to document the issue or find anyone else in the grammarly forums that have experienced the same issue. Or could it be a bug on your computer only? The program is used all over the planet. So, most bugs will happen for others as well. Thanks again for your comment.

@@SelfPublishingMadeEasyNow Thank you for your reply. I know it's not the computer because I've used it on my other desktop, and it does the same thing. I'm retired from Microsoft, so my 4 computers are all up to date. Now I have done some experimenting and I believe I've found the issue. While writing my books after I finish a chapter I always same a copy to PDF format. On Saturday when I was saving to PDF I saw a couple of names change in front of my eyes. I then took the time to create a new word document and retype 2 chapters, without using Grammarly. Guess what. No name changes. It's a very frustrating issue. I finished a book yesterday. I had went back to the beginning like always do and use text to speech. I believe it was around chapter 13 or 14, I found two pages where the story characters names were changed to the letter I. I keep Grammarly open as I type. I can type faster and edit faster. My editors Tammy and Alysha have told me they have found the letter I in place of names when checking that I missed. I have never had this issue until I started using Grammarly.

That is a really unique problem which I haven't ever heard of. Like some sort of autocorrect happening. Not sure why this is happening. Though, I always try to see if anyone else is having the same issue. Then, it is easier to figure out what to do with it. The other option is to uninstall Grammarly and reinstall.
