A lot of people have THAT one dish family and friends love, my grandpa has funny enough, an amazing potato dish he does that we all adore. He doesn't usually cook it but when he does it's amazing.

Controversial statement here, but i see a lot of elders at my local Trader Joe’s, and i wholeheartedly believe it’s because they get customer interaction. You have to remember how many older, lonely, and widowed old people there are who look forward to having human interaction per week.

I love going lol my 1.5 year old loves “chatting” with them while they check out stuff out. And he seems to make them genuinely smile. And even if it’s stupid small talk those small interactions with them are usually more than just small talk, we go often and they remember us. I enjoy it 😅
I meet a lot of older folks at my job and they love to have a conversation. There's a lot of great volunteer places where you can adopt seniors! Some of the seniors stories are so cool and they are so lovely

I love how the Enrique Iglesias theory has been around for 20+ years. For the majority of my life Enrique could have trained and learned how to at least pretend to sing, but he hasn't. There are college students whose have lived their entire lives in that time and Inglesias still can't sing despite being one of the most famous Spanish singers.
I think he just believed the talent would come with genetics, as his father is very talented and an incredible singer. His father actually refused to support his music career and said his music is trash, and they did not speak for over a decade as he was “searching for success” on his own💀
That’s what I thought too I mean not everyone is naturally skilled but almost everyone can learn how to sing you think he’d of learned to at least sing average by now.. I guess it’s just a testament to how bad he is like maybe he just has zero pitch

I used to work at Trader Joe’s. They instruct us to ask about your weekend, what you’re making with the ingredients, etc. and you’re reminded when you don’t. And yes, unironically the reason they don’t do Instacart is to talk to you lol. The “store experience” is what the brand is about. Personally I felt dumb as hell asking overly engaging questions when I didn’t wanna talk and 75% of customers didn’t want to talk lol.
My job suggested we offer hi fives to people and point out something we like about their outfit. I felt like such an asshole.
This makes me feel so much better for not making small talk with them lol

i almost got a job at a place like this and the overly nice behavior they expected is why I couldnt commit to the job, i dont understand for the life of me why brands think people want to be asked personal questions when they're just trying to get food, groceries, coffee etc.
I’ve worked there for 7+ years and never been told to ask these questions 😅 I do talk about my favorite items but some of my transactions are silent af and I think some customers appreciate that lol I try to appeal to the social anxiety customers 😂

I know Ethan started leftovers because he thought that the right had way more internet content reaching out to young people and he wanted to counteract that, and he was surprised to hear that people cared a lot about the show. I just want him to know that he definitely achieved his goal. I’m just out of college and I’ve been watching h3 since I was a freshman in high school till now, and I’ve watched the pod from the 1st episode. I always cared about politics but it’s just so hard to watch coverage on the left because it is just so boring to me. But Ethan and hasan made it just so hilarious and entertaining and I attribute Ethan to really helping shape my political positions and keep me involved in politics. I think he’s done much more good than he knows by providing entertaining progressive political content and I’m super thankful for him for doing the show

I think coming from Australia myself I was able to analyse and understand the way American politics works and almost use it as a ‘lesson’ for how I vote here in Australia (I know it sounds fucked but true ahaha). Ethan used to be conservative and probably still is when the cameras turn off just him and his family in his household, he got cancelled and his career was on the brink of being over because of things he said.

I honestly think it would be a great idea to have different shows rotating on Thursdays. So its not too much to handle, one or two crew members can lead the episode that week and cover whatever topic they want, and they can come back to the sudject when the rotation comes back to them. It would be cool to learn more about the crew that way.

I will forever be grateful to leftovers for introducing me to H3, thursdays were the highlight of my week due to the show. I really found the way you navigated humor and politics to be really valuable, especially for a younger audience that might be susceptible to the alt right pipeline. I hope Ethan can take the break he needs in order to be okay mentally. I would love to see him and hasan together to cover the 2024 election circus and the incredible content to come from it.
I think the Osama bin Laden thing is because it is shocking to a lot of people that he rationalized his actions quite clearly and there were legitimate grievances he had, mixed in with a lot of bad radical ideas. However, because these people lack any international politics knowledge and are just impressionable they take it to the extreme and act like he is some sorta persecuted civil rights activist and they have some sort of forbidden knowledge.

Sam's recipe:
- Hard boil and smash potatoes
- Fry in duckfat/baconfat
- Tarragon butter
Love's chips recipe:
- Rapeseed oil
- Homemade oil, marinade tarragon and garlic in oil
- Sliced potatoes
Love's steak fries recipe:
- Boil fries until outside layer is soft and inner is still firm (before cutting)
- Cut in half, and then thirds
- Rest is secret

- Boil potatoes until fork soft, no longer

1. Hoping Cam is having a good day. Sounds like he had a weird Thanksgiving and potato challenge. Just wanted to send good vibes his way just in case.
2. Bummed about Leftovers. Totally respect the decision though. The other political Podcast I listened to was cancelled recently because the host was abusive and struggled with alcohol, so now I have no "fun" way to get my update on politics... well, guess I could go watch Hasan's stream, but it won't be the same without Ethan. Hopefully we will get a Leftover's "special" or "mini-series" for the 2024 election.

just watch Hasan instead, i bet it won't take you long to realize it's actually a way more fun, intellectually stimulating and authentic experience.

@@Naejakire3 Vinegar is like 6% acetic acid in water. I wouldn't use vinegar, but there are much cheaper verisons of the same thing. Like, $6. Shame on that vet's office. I'd do some googling.
@@jessj2530 yes, vinegar is diluted acetic acid, but you can get double strength vinegar (still pretty weak) and it's a good natural cleaning alternative in some cases. When I was working on a commercial boat for live Coral Trout we would use vinegar to clean the empty live fish tanks instead of bleach. Helped to kill bacteria without leaving a bleach residue that would've been harmful to the live fish.
Side note: you can soak chopped up raw fish like trevally (maybe Tuna as well) in vinegar with chilli, onions etc, and it cooks/pickles it over a day or two into a nice snack!
My favorite segments of all time are when Olivia does a PowerPoint presentation for the crew. If that became a mini-series I'd be so happy
I love the way that Ethan closes his eyes when singing the intro song (and never hits the lyrics quite right). I ESPECIALLY love Sam's deadface singing.

I kept yelling "vinegar" at the screen when they mentioned how to make foods more acidic. Then Dan said it but Ethan was like "I don't even think that's acidic." That's crazy 'cause what makes vinegar vinegar is the acetic acid in it making it very acidic. Lol I can't believe no one knew that. When he googled acidic foods, of course vinegar didn't come up because it's not food. It's added to food. Okay...Just has to get that out. 😮💨😅

i have had this song stuck in my head for 3 weeks. it plays when i am trying to sleep. my insomnia demons have started singing “grimace shake in fortnite” to me as i lay paralyzed in my bed. i sing it to my wife daily and i think she wants a divorce. never stop grimace shaking in fortnite i love hearing the rizzler talk
i open at starbucks and every day right now i wake up and go to the cafe and go thru the motions working with half the lights off and just mutter “last night we let the rizzler talk” over and over again and i literally just can’t stop it😭

Used to work at Trader Joe’s and the small talk was brutal at times. Some people would really unload their personal shit while you’re standing there waiting to ask receipt in the bag? Luckily, you only work at the register for an hour at a time and at max twice/shift. TJ’s knows how awful the Sunday shift is that they pay an extra $10/hour so people actually want a Sunday shift. I can also confirm the one I worked at had a tiny ass parking lot.
