My headcannon is that the human human fruit was the dream of a dog owner who learned how short is a dog's lifespan's compared to a human's and wanted the fruit so he could keep their best friend for all of their lives.

I always felt like the Jacket fruit was pretty easy to determine the origin of.
I feel like it was probably the wish of somebody who was severely disabled and envious of other peoples physical abilities and wanted a way to âbecomeâ them while also remaining themselves.
Itâs kind of a roundabout way to go about it, but I can easily see it being the case.

How is that disgusting? That would allow you to eat healthy without you worrying that your healthy food will taste like something you hate. That's usually the main reason why many people refuse to stick to a healthy lifestyle for a long time.
They'd rather go back to eating unhealthy shit,just because it taste better then a carrot.

I think I can explain the Jake Jake fruit.
I think this fruits comes from the wish of someone who just wanted to be like a person they admired or were envious.
In English you have the expression "to put yourself in someone's shoes" but in France, the french expression is : "to put yourself in someone's SKIN" The fruit just took their wish too literally.

the kuku kuku no mi seems like a phenomenal diet fruit if it can change food into more food. just make the butteriest mashed potatoes that can clog your heart from a mile away , but taste delicious and then turn it into brussels sprouts and get its nutritional value with top tear flavor.

The Forest Fruit is literally the only creative Logia in all of One Piece - instead of being limited to just controlling one element and spamming it all the time, you gain control over the entire flora in existence and can spawn plants with multitude of uses - ranging from combat and taking oriented ones (like the fire-proof trees) to things that could be used for making medicine. It's only limited by your knowledge and imagination.
Well the Mag-Mag Fruit allows you to create lava and when said lava comes into contact with water. It hardens to become fertile land. In fact it's said that land formed by maga is some of the best for farming crops.

I'd argue that the Yuki Yuki no mi and Swamp fruit are very creative aswell imo.
The kilo kilo and ton ton would actually be amazing in the right hands. I know the 2 users only went up and down which is lame but this is One Piece. I believe that you could train to go beyond the "limits" the users mentioned. Take Garp, a man who has no devil fruit, managing to be one of the strongest characters in the series. Now give him the power to make his fist weight as much as a mountain! Or become as lightweight as a grain of sand! He'd be even more broken than he is with moves like "mountain fist", "continent punch" or "atom speed". It's one piece literally anything is possible lol on top of all the power and speed you'd gain, imagine punching someone who weights as much as a whole island paired with haki?!? Broken fruit in the right hands

Nope the point of kilo fruit and ton fruit only works in vertical motion. You canât punch with the ton ton or kilo fruit horizontally as ofc they way too much. Also the ground will break under them and if people were to Ulitize it, it would likely be trying to jump high up then ground slam. Also ofc if u have Geppo or any flight ability then itâs pretty much useless

"Viola ate the Giro Giro no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to see through solid objects and over vast distances. It also allows her to see into peoples minds and memories." oh and can also shoot hot whales out of her eyes like WTF?!? Lol what I'm saying is this is one piece and literally anything can happen. All up to the users imagination and training. People like Sanji can basically fly with techniques, so being as light as an atom would basically give you the same effect as flight in this universe. Doflamingo literally swings on clouds but going side to side with weight or momentum (or lack of) is too much for you lol even if they stated that, it doesn't mean no one else could do it. Yes the ground would break too! It would be amazing seeing them dunk ships or bring down all of sky island with emperor level power. Oh and I'd imagine the awakened version would allow you to manipulate the weight of anything you touched. So they could flatten you or send you to space. This fruit could be broken, I'm telling you lol
@@YouTookMyHandle I feel the same. The manipulation of weight seems like a really powerful concept and the kilo kilo no mi simply isn't explored at all - for example, if Luffy had it, it would have become an amazing and rich fruit with many moves.
On the other hand, I don't know why the ton ton fruit appears to be the same, but way stronger and heavier. Why did Oda write the same enemy but heavier (why wouldn't the kilo kilo user be able to attain higher weight with time and experience, anyways?). The existence of the ton ton fruit makes no sense, as far as I know. I guess that Oda wanted an epic fight between the kilo kilo basic fighting style (floating and falling) and a giant, and he didn't want to kill Miss Valentine (which would be needed to free her devil fruit), so he invented an identical fruit for the new enemy (Machvise).
Even that isn't the end of the world, because the kilo kilo fruit is still a promising one and the ton ton fruit doesn't invalidate it even if it's stronger. Furthermore, the kilo kilo fruit probably has qualities that the ton ton fruit hasn't, just as the yuki yuki fruit has qualities that the hie hie fruit doesn't despite being less powerful. In my opinion, that would be the case if Oda wrote a little more about the kilo kilo no mi. Meanwhile (and maybe forever), it's only headcanon and hopefully well interpreted "One Piece logic".

Part of me still wonders if Vegapunk was being poetic when he said devil fruits were dreams. Like how his dream is to create an energy source. If he accomplished this goal you could say the energy source was created by a dream. My only reason for thinking is that what if he meant the ancient kingdom knew how to create devil fruits. They didn't dream them up exactly, so much as they dream up the idea like a scientist and get to work making it a reality.
So the human-human fruit may have been a scientists way of allowing their pet to talk and experience life. Which is kinda wholesome.

In regards to Streusen and the Kuku Kuku no Mi;
I can't help but consider the application of using it on already-existing food.
With Big Mom's access to ingredients and chefs, it's pretty practical to have something delicious cooked up for Streusen to then turn into a different, more nutritionally valuable meal, right? Like turning a cake into something far more healthy and nourishing? All the flavour of anything you're craving, but all the satisfaction and healthiness of a full meal packed with nutrition. The best of both worlds. Also foods that taste great but have an awful texture could be changed just as easy!

I don't know if you have it already but a video about devil fruit powers that could be more useful in the hands of normal people who don't have a devil fruit would be cool. I was thinking about the ato ato no mi and I feel like Miss Goldenweek from Little Garden could have used that power better. This theory has probably already been stated.

Maybe for Trebolâs fruit, it was born from the wish of someone who had excessive mucus/runny/stuffy nose, so they wanted to be able to control it better. Trebol might release it as a weapon and protection, but the wish of the person was probably to make their symptoms go away. Maybe a stretch, but makes the most sense of how it couldâve came to be. After all, canât count how often Iâve had mucus symptoms and just wanted them to go away.
Edit: I think weight manipulation fruits could be cool⊠if used correctly. I envision a person could be as heavy or light as they be, and an advanced user could make certain parts of their body heavier or lighter at will, so they may turn their arm super heavy and punch really hard, they may evade moves by getting heavier/lighter, or maybe use their weight defensively, so certain attacks may not push them back. I think it can be cool if properly executed (which it has not).

Honestly, weight manipulation to the extreme (allowing you to reach 0 or negative weight) would be amazing as a hilarious form of flight, the "flappy bird" style flight.
You can't really control it overly well, but you just go up and down by adjusting your weight every second or 2.
There's a lot that could be done with weight manipulation powers and yet we just got... the most boring use of it possible. Twice. lol

This train of thought has me questioning the motives of the ones who created Shinobu's Juku Juku no Mi and Shu's Sabi Sabi no Mi. Who was like, "Oh great fruit deity, my dream is to be able to destroy things. But not just break them; I want to forcibly subject them to the ravages of time at an accelerated speed. I want to watch them rot/rust and decay and wither away into oblivion before my very eyes." Dude must have had some issues, is all I'm saying.
I think that it was dreamed by a farmer to use it in recently planted seeds to get instant crops, instant frutal trees, turning grape juice into aged and expensive wine, turning eggs into full grown and ready to sacrifice chickens, turning calfs into cows...

I'm guessing that the original user of the Hito Hito no mi was probably a non human creature such as an oni, that was rejected by their peers, much like Chopper. And that their desire was to become an actual human to finally gain the acceptance of those around them.

So I just got a physical copy of romance dawn and in the back there's a section similar to the sbs sections and one person asked how Oda came up with devil fruits. Oda replied "when I think up a devil fruit, I always try to come up with something that fulfills a human desire." I don't know if this little quote is common knowledge but I do think it's neat that Oda had desires as the basis for devil fruits getting their powers as far back whenever that book was printed here in America
I feel like the origin of the Kuku Kuku fruit would be similar to Sanji and Zeff experience of almost starving to death. The first person who thought it up probably almost starved to death one time and wanted a fruit to counteract that experience should it happen again.

Shari Shari no Mi
Shari Shari no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that was eaten by Sharinguru of the Marines. This Devil Fruit allows him to turn his limbs into wheels and as expected, it aids greatly in travel, making Sharinguru a human vehicle.
However, in combat, this Devil Fruit is almost worthless as the user can do little with wheels, which act as spinning weapons. Franky dealt with it rather easily during the Enies Lobby arc, as is expected of anyone who is a capable fighter in the One Piece world.
The one great thing about pulling two all nighters is seeing your videos as they come out đđœ

When it comes to the Human Human fruit, I can actually see a pretty solid use for it. For simplicity sake, say you are the guy on Buggyâs crew with the pet lion. You feed him that fruit now you have a literal lion Zoan combatant that can transform and even one day awaken. Now you have an incredibly powerful crew member.
Wait, do we know what non-mythical zoan fruits look like when they get awakened? Does Chopper's monster point count as forced awakening? I feel like the answer should be yes, though I'd also like to see the awakening of the Human-human fruit be getting super-powers similar to star-platinum from JJBA. Super precision, strength, intelligence, motor control, you basically just become the most naturally gifted at everything in the world (minus haki, I'm thinking more professions/sciences/creative arts), for a brief period.

Regarding the Kuku Kuku no mi, I was thinking it might have been made by someone who grew up hungry, a person who witnessed people in an area who were starving or a starving individual. Kilo kilo no mi was probably someone who didnt want to diet or exercise and the ton ton may have been someone who wanted to win a fight like sumo or something
My one issue with this video is that there could be many better explanations for the dreams. Like maybe the food one is just the dream to never starve again. Or the swimming one was someone who loved swimming but was terrified of the sea or maybe lived in a region where they couldn't swim due to sea beasts or what have you. The kilo kilo fruit could have many explanations. Or the art one, maybe someone who was grieving in a time before snail cameras wished they could've kept art of a deceased love one. Just reducing it to "He loved swamp so he became it, he loved springs so he developed them, my dream was to outperform the other dream" is kinda not what Oda would do... Or rather it totally is but once or twice only as a gag, not for all devil fruits.
There probably a level where people had a desire for X, and the manifestation came through a devil fruit, but like a genie's wish it could backfire in some cases or cause side issues. So it probably still fulfills a desire, but in an indirect, and somewhat ironic way

I can see the desire for Strussan's fruit. With it you can take something unhealthy like a double bacon cheeseburger or a dozen doughnuts and make them into something nutritional like broccoli or lettuce without loosing the taste it originally had. The whole turn anything into food thing was probably a lucky side effect that the first user most likely didn't expect.

For weight manipulation fruits I Imagine that their "gear 2" equivalent would be any part of them is said weight the user wishes (hair strands, skin flakes, sweat and such). While their awakened state would be affecting the weight of the environment around them. Which is really powerful but I sadly never utilized v.v

Personally, I think the Jake Jake no mi could be a fruit born from someone's desire to protect others.
A jacket is warm, and can shield you from harm, and in the case that someone is unconscious and needs help, you can take control to get them out of harm's way.
Maybe the reason why logias are so rare is because everybody asked for the same wish, it just all got squished together into one fruit instead of multiple. So because not a lot of people wished for paramecia fruits they are abundant. More people wished for zoan types, logias, and mythical zoans and so on. Meaning that the more people wished for a power the rarer it became

For the second fruit I can imagine it being from a chef unhappy with his food thinking it could be better. His fruit makes insanely AMAZING and an experienced chef, Sanji for example, could pick out the ingredients by taste alone and allow them to make it personally. And along with the human-human fruit thereâs multiple variations like model human in Choppers case or model Nika that Luffy are you can see this in other fruits like Kaidos where itâs actually a fish fruit model Dragon so my guess is an owner who wanted full companionship with their pet, the people wanting Joy Boy to return and even a fish or fish man wanting to sail the skies

i think the reason for the kilo kilo and ton ton being so similar is that there are very obvious parallels (particularly devil fruit wise) between baroque works and the doffy family.
...and I'm still waiting on an air-air fruit, I don't think we've had that yet for a Logia. something that's like an upgraded clear-clear fruit mixed with Caesar's gas-gas fruit. you can turn yourself into air and manipulate air elements. create winds, storms... maybe that's what Dragon has?
