Ahh the banana for scale, i see you're a man of culture aswell.
Indeed
Great video!! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for the information
I had no idea about the reset option! I have one I was about to throw away so ill definetly be trying that 😎 Thank you!
Let me know if it worked
@@TattooShopTalk It didn’t 💔😂
same thing, reset doesn't work
can you only print outlines or also inner (bold) areas? I dont need it for tattooing but to transfer images for linocut. Wondering if it works, pretty sure no one here can tell :D
Bought one of these cheap ones from cardago and received it with broken hinges, thought maybe it would work but it does not pull the paper and makes no sound when I try to reset it 😩
I just hand stencil everything. I draw them so I can read and understand them..I find it to be a good practice run before tattooing
What style are you doing? I know that in realistic style there's a pretty steady hand stencil crowd
If u have an iPad you can do that without having to trace or trace the design the night before that's what i do l if your not comfortable i did mine by hand for awhile but your stencils always usually have imperfections lines getting to thin or 2 thick the amount of pressure u have to put to actually get it to transfer isn't ideal when your doing fine lines or lines as shading or detail for that matter I want my needles to match my stencil and that's hard to do by hand
I always see portrait artist do stencils by hand but that you really need to understand where the light and dark tones are going but even then I would print mine! time is money people why spend a extra hour doing something you could do in 5 mins thing is when you do a stencil by hand if you mess up there's no fixing it you gotta restart and that's another hour so that's where printers come in hand u always have clients that don't like the original placement or want to change the design and that's who u should have in mind
yes but not accurate and easy, waste lot time. if need make same stencil 2-3 time new waste lot time.
For me the pocketjet is my favorite, it’s smart with shadows and don’t make everything just black, delicate with small details, but I also have the cheap one in one of my guest spots, and I absolutely hate it, I do a lot of small details and fineline, and it just can’t do anything that has fine details, I just draw by hand if I had to choose between getting fine detailed stencil on that one
For fineline work Brother seems to be best option. But cheap ones seem to be hit or miss depending on unit
My shop has the most expensive and the least expensive and I personally prefer the cheap one, it’s slower but it usually gives me cleaner lines
It has its benefits specially considering price
make a video on better options that also don’t break the bank, love the vids man.
Thanks for input. I can't think of many budget friendly options for stenciling
@@TattooShopTalk budget printer cost old FAX 10-30$ portable wifi/bluetooth mini printer same than brother inkjet, pocket size 80-130$
this is just way better than the brother, ofc the german made is a beast if you can afford it!
Agreed
but cost lot owerprice, you can buy 10 brother printer one germany big box. and cheapen use brother inkjet than this big ugly box, if germany can use next 500 Hour same money can use 10 pocket printer 50 000 Hour, lot lot cheapen.
Hi, have you tried a inkjet stencil printer as well? It’s just an eco-printer (Epson) but instead of filling it with different colors printer ink you fill it just with stencil ink. The eco printer can than be used wirelessly or hooked up on a laptop for example. Plus side: cheaper printer and also copier in one than the stencil printers and you can use thin paper to print on. (This does take some testing though to see what works best). Printing a stencil directly on paper also saves time and does it without the expensive stencil carbon paper. Down side: the special stencil ink is a bit expensive but gets cheaper (it gets some competition from other brands now). When you also buy their special paper (not needed per sé) it gets more expensive but still cheaper than working with thermo stencils and machines. Their special paper is also not as “flexible/ thin” as the carbon stencil paper so that is something to “Frankenstein” with using other thin printable paper. Maybe someone can sponsor you to check it out 😜? Thanks for the vids, super helpful and fun 🤩
I have one I like it for some things but the stencils never last as long on the skin as the spirit transfer paper. Sometimes I can get them to last a decent amount of time but it can be very hit or miss depending on the clients skin I have found. I dont trust it for very complex stencils but it does come in handy sometimes for sure. You just need them all they all have pros and cons . Also the inkjet is prone to clogging up and sometimes then you need to replace the printer more often than these other options
I was looking at them and price of Ink scared me at the time plus on some tattoo pages as much as people love them there are as many who complain. At the moment I have no need for one apart from curiosity reason. Thanks for input.
Thanks for input. These points I read pretty often and it just seems unreliable considering how sensitive printers are.
@@TattooShopTalk totally understand your point! I use the printer and it’s fine and for the same reason you mentioned I still keep some carbon stencil paper around just in case. So far so good though. Thanks for your many reviews on products as wall as the flipping ink bans.
@@TattooShopTalk Use with photoshop and if people complain they don't know how to use them. Print in black and you get about 5K stencils. It will take a ton of $ for stencil ink but who says you have to fill it? Just buy a bottle for $180. I put just a little in the 3 color ink tanks and the rest in the black. Then print in only black. I have a EPSOM ET-2720 and it does up to 10 prints a minute without any fuss. Watch this video czcams.com/video/AOw2Q6xpqjA/video.html . Even if you buy one and fill it with 2 bottles it's still costs less than most of those things and you never have a problem. I have had mine for 6 months and I love it. How much does 5,000 pieces of stencil paper cost? The stencils come out better than anything I have ever seen and I'm 50.
for the first printer i have it when you use a picture to print it shades in too much so if you press the photo button it seems to lighten it up
Thanks for input
Fucking love how a banana is randomly used for show relative size ✌😁
Is there any possibility to print a stencil with a small printout or do you have to put a whole A4 paper in the stencil printer?
You can use smaller bits - then you have to figure out how to align them.
Can I print out the design in a printing press before using this machine for the transferring
What do you mean by printing press?
Sounds silly but what is the gsm paper you use for the design? Not the transfer paper the white paper
Any generic A4 printer paper from grocery store down the road
I’m obviously late to the party, but does anyone have any advice on this machine causing flakes on the transfer? Heckin purple stuff ever where.
It could be a quality of stencil paper or maybe machine needs cleaning or like with a cheaper stuff - might be faulty unit
cheap shit paper make flakes, need buy better maybe cheapen spirit thermal paper.
For the money u can't beat these cheaper ones....this k I paid 120 for mine shipped...pays for it self in one tattoo really
Yours was at very good price. The one I got is around 180€ still doesn't take long to pay off
What kind of printer did you use in printing the design? laser/toner or ink?
We print on a cheap HP DeskJet 2620 and on a big office printer Konica Minolta Bizhub 250 one is ink other toner.
Much appreciated for the instructions. I just acquired (No, not stolen) one of these for free and need to test before reselling.
Ok - not stolen
@@TattooShopTalk Lol, Where I live we have a system in our building, people leave stuff (on a shelf in the hallway) that's still (usable?) for others to take instead of just throwing away, but yea to the best of my knowledge Not stolen.
Been using one of these for 3 years no issues yet
Which one?
Lol wtfthat helps, you dont even say which one
Hey brother i have a mo8f printer anyone know any tricks to get crisp stencils
Maybe included stencil paper might not be that great. But could you tell a bit more on what's the issue exactly
thanks for the content. is there anything that’s a $300 USD price range that’s similar to the brother pocket jet? I can’t afford $600 USD right now. I’m just a starting off tattoo artist but I’ve been an illustrator for years….suggestions? Thank you 🌹
There are knock offs out there but then I would look for a second hand Brother one.
@@TattooShopTalk new pocket inkjet (same than brother) cost 80-120$ only and need thermal paper can print good.
Hi..why not use a thermal carrier to stop burn?
I don't think it would fit this machine
@@TattooShopTalk so a A4 Teflon carrier wouldn't work?
I'm not planning to try because anything more than few sheets of paper will be too much for this cheap stencil machine
So I need a regular printer for the picture?
Yes you need a regular printer as well
Can one use this like a mask in printing for makeup application???
Could you expand on question. I have no idea what is - mask in printing for makeup application...
@@TattooShopTalk well one creates a mask all it does is prevents light from burning the entire surface of the metal plate.bery old offset printing. The ink only sticks to that part of the plate while inside the press. Anyways I was thinking of a way to make that happen but with makeup. One prints off a thing that blocks all makeup but for the pattern printed. Then the user places that in their face paints the whole thing then removes it revealing the pattern. If you can make that happen the idea then prove there's a market for it then sell the concept it would be a new generation of makeup application. Hey I can't make it happen maybe you can. Maybe you use all that income for something good figured good idea. I got tons this was just makeup. Anyways I learned it from going to printing classes I had dropped out of highschool so I went to a community college cus my parents wanted me to learn something. Guess I did think interference patterns. Here's another idea. Head shops. You make a display case to hold smoke pipes the ones with the crazy swirls. They sit on the shelf but a Lazer shines on them and it projects images on the walls near by. Light art I call it. The lasers should move or the pipes so the images change. It's very beautiful. If you ever gain from these ideas make me a robot AI that can tattoo anything like a printer. I have no tats I'm waiting for the singularity. Then I'm gonna get a full body. Mainly things relating to music and geometry frequency resonance energy. I can help develop but I don't want any income and no one can know I had anything to do with it. I'd like to be more or less invisible. " We live in the now but believe there's only a few" get yourself high - basement jax- darn it sorry that's chemical brothers
Now either take a hot bath and listen to your wife. RELAX have a Starbucks have a think. " Sitting with the thinker trying to work it out" let's go all the way. That's a song. Let your mind float down stream. The life you save could be your own. Think
@@topdawg3359 holy hell, how high are you? No this wouldn't work for a mask... it makes tattoo stencils... it puts dye on the skin... its not a layer to block anything, and Goodluck wiping it off without completely removing makeup... you do understand the tattoo process right? Like, this stuff doesn't just peel off or wipe away
I got one of these cheap chinese one and reset doesn't work...I never saw a difference between deep 1 or 2 and the mirror never worked....
Then we can add inconsistencies in quality to the list
Same problem here how to fix that shit? Reset doesn't work, and then there's so many lines/stripes while printing
My paper stock many times how can I fix
Probably original is too dark or has long dark areas horizontally over the sheet. That's my first guess
This the same one I use and it does its job 😂
It does the job while it works. It's not bad but there are more efficient options out there.
But how big is the banana
On average twice as long and twice as thin as a regular potato
That one seems slow, and annoying to use :P. We got a real old one, and it makes perfect stencil every single time, just need to feed the stencil paper and it does rest very fast. I know it's very cheap but seems annoying :P
Of you go from good one to this one then it feels really bad. Not as bad as pocket jets but still bad
one minute into the video and literally, i mean LITERALLY you have a piece of paper for size comparism and you used a banana....I LOVE IT XDDD
Cheap vs pocketjet??
If budget is not an issue then latest and greatest pocket jet. If budget is sensitive then cheap one or second hand pocket jet.
You should actually put pattern on some 1 see how god it looks
pocket jet thermal printer style machine cost today 80-120$ and cheap printer style machine 110-140$ ecoprinter tank ink machine 150-240$ but need special stencil ink who cost 60-80$ very expensive use printer, good cheap stencil printer need cost less than 80$ then have normal, old fax machine thermal copy printer not perfect but can use. cost 10-30$
I have heard about old dot matrix printers good things but they are hard to adapt to modern ports on computers
@@TattooShopTalk UCN-100 paraller port adapter can use old printer to usb port. not perfect dot matric have but old FAX thermal printer can use "copy" option.
I am curious about fax thing
the photo button is there just to be there . AMEN xd
Well... Can't complain about free button
Average banana? This is a fk huge banana bro, pls
Pretty standard here
But the question now is how big is the banana 🍌
This have been scientifically answered in previous comment.
Still... a good question
Seems to be a hit or miss by the looks of the comments here, might give it a go. Never tattoo'd and cant draw but I've been wanting to get into it and buy a gun and stencil machine for a long time now. Jus been was because of how expensive all the equipment seemed. Seems to be, there were cheaper alternatives out there, just wasn't looking hard enough apparently💁♂
Hand stenciling is cheapest option and good practice for tracing
Um cheap? that piece of trash equipment is 200 or more n dosent even do a good job at printing
It prints just fine... at least mine does
Another fella covered in crappy tattoos with no meaning. Why?
What are you trying to ask or say?
