I’d like to clarify something here since there are a few comments that are misinformed even though they’re coming from a good place. Regardless of our relationship status, Ann Marie and I are on good terms and we’re still working together. In fact we have several new Band Geek videos that we recorded a few weeks ago that will be up as soon as I get a chance to edit them. Regarding this band with Jon Anderson, of course Ann Marie was invited to participate in this tour. That was a no-brainer for us and it would’ve been amazing to have her strong voice leading these complicated harmonies. However, doing a tour like this is a massive commitment and not everyone is able to drop everything and rearrange their entire lives to make something like this work. So ultimately, Ann Marie declined to be part of this. We completely understand and there are no hard feelings about it. So that’s the story. No one was dissed or left out or kicked to the curb. We’re bummed that she’s not gonna be with us, but we’re going to proceed as best as we can with the current situation. Even though she’s decided to sit this part out, Ann Marie will always be a Band Geek. I hope that clears things up.
Also, I have a feeling more tour dates are going to be added to the list, so look out for those.
Thanks!
Been enjoying the video Richie, and all the comments! 👍👍
Thanks Richie for the clarity!
Glad to hear this and congrats on the upcoming work with Jon!
You are a class act, sir, and a breathtaking musician. I share the exaltation of others that this collaboration is happening. We in the Pacific Northwest are dearly hoping you will make it out here. Bravo for all your accomplishments!
@@fletcherward Very well put Fletcher!!!
I'm also out here in the Pacific NorthWest...and keeping my fingers crossed 🤞
My best to Ann Marie. She is a truly gifted vocalist. I am sorry that she will not be part of this.
As for the band, a lot of people, including me, are very excited about this and we will all be there when the tour starts.
Fifty years later and he can still do it???? What a singer! What a tribute band! What incredible musicians!!!!!
I honestly don't think anyone covers Yes better than Band Geeks. For Jon to collaborate with them is some kind of praise for their ability to replicate the Yes sound as well as they do.
Todmobile comes close but hasn't done nearly as much material.
Found out they're going to tour with Jon and they'll be in my area in Collingwood NJ in April 2023. A definite
@@psychedelicelders7817 I'm in Australia and unfortunately won't get to see them. I have seen Yes twice, once in the UK and again in Melbourne after I moved to Australia. That was back in the early 70's.
Yes.😎🙄
@@psychedelicelders7817 Band Geeks will be with Jon Anderson in Collingswood, NJ in April 2023? I will DEFINITELY be there!!!
Man, Anderson’s voice sounds FANTASTIC!
You can say that again! I honestly can't believe it. I do know he always sang in his natural range (most rock vocalists have to sing falsetto to get that high) and never 'forced' his voice, which surely helped.
If this isn't manifesting your dreams, I don't know what is. And anyone who thinks manifesting is simply putting in your order with the universe and waiting for it to be delivered should sort the Band Geek YT channel by date and see what has led up to this. I'm so happy for everyone involved and this could not be a more deserving collaboration unified by the love of music and the dedication of the truly obsessed. Congrats all.
This is THE Yes to see, for sure. Hope for a tour around Europe!
YES please, come to europe!
Agreed. Not the travesty led by Steve Howe.
Please come to Scotland
as long as there is Jon Anderson, there is YES.
He is YES
He, and Chris are Yes.
Affirmative!
I wish Jon could do a proper YES world tour with these guys. It would be huge. Gratz to the Geek's for getting the man himself to sing and play with you. Must be such an honor
Yeah! And outside US, for all of us in the other parts of the world :)
That would be immense!
Why is it not a “proper tour”?
This IS the proper YES tour. Forget the legal mumbo-jumbo. Jon IS Yes!
Ask Steve Howe if he'll allow it.
How does Jon still sound as good as he did the day those classic Yes albums were recorded? It's truly astonishing to hear.
I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing. Wow. You guys are amazing. Thanks for doing this.
So thrilled that this project has come together! Thanks for all the hard work from everyone in front of or behind the limelight that has or shall continue to toil to make this beautiful music come to life in a most delightful way! 🤗
Hi Jason...well said!
@@marknotos5358 - Maximum Howdies ✋🏻 Mark 🎊
Great musicianship and modern electronics can recreate the classic Yes musical delivery and sound but only Jon Anderson can sing like Jon Anderson, he is elusive piece that no tribute band can recreate.... The collaboration of the wonderful Band Geeks and Jon Anderson is a fitting combination to bring back the classic 1970's Yes sound experience 'live'.. Magnificent.
This is incredible. The Band Geeks have done an excellent job of covering Yes in the past. Now tone performing with John Anderson! Sounds amazing.
Awesome. My favorite part aside from the fact that Jon's going back out playing yes music is that the drummer is playing more like Bill Bruford. Can't wait.
Totally agree. He's definitely sounding much more like Bruford.
Fun fact: drummer Andy is a trained jazz pianist.
Jon Anderson is Yes, Only original member, and Band Geeks are the perfect backing vehicle for this to become a reality... Excited!!
I am transported back 50 years. I am 15. I have just witnessed one of the greatest musical experiences of my life and I am hooked forever. Thanks Jon, Richie and the rest of the brilliant Band Geeks for making an old Brit very happy😊
I only got to see Yes on the 90125 tour with Trevor Rabin and Tony Kaye. Frankly, I don't care who plays what as long as they nail it as well as the originals. I don't snear at David Gilmour playing Pink Floyd classics during his shows. Richie, Andy, Andy, Chris, and Rob are all extremely talented multi-instrumentalists. This will be a treat.
Jon...you literally expressed exactly what I am feeling right now. I just discovered Band Geeks on CZcams one hour ago, watched their CTTE cover and I'm literally blown away. I first saw Yes in 72 at age 14...I'm still blown away by that first experience. Saw them many times since and watching these videos transported me back. I absolutely MUST attend one of these performances with Jon next year.
Jon, I feel the same way too! Saw Yes for the first time about 50 years ago, one of the first concerts I ever attended, and of course I have been a devoted fan ever since! Fast forward to about 2018, and someone on facebook posts a link to something called ‘BAND GEEK’ and when I tuned in, there’s Richie and his pals in what looks like the basement of someone’s house, and they are covering Yes. The sheer talent of these guys was simply amazing, and I can remember thinking back then, ‘WOW, Jon Anderson should hear this’. I cannot wait to see them together in concert, it really is a dream come true for them, and for all of us…..old Americans and old Brits alike!!!
A great moment in my life was 7 years ago when my then-15 year old son came to me said he had just heard this GREAT song called “Roundabout” and wanted to know if I knew of it. I laughed and told him I was exactly his age when that song came out and that I and my friends were HUGE Yes fans. And that we saw them twice in concert. Once in a small venue and then a year later in an arena for Close to the Edge.
PLEASE! Bring the Show to The UK!.
Jon sounding great. Band Geeks sounding great. Can't wait to see this live Thanks, Richie..
Absolutely brilliant beyond words.
I’ve been watching and enjoying the videos of the ‘Band Geeks’ covering Yes’ songs for a while now and I remember being blown away when I first saw them. I couldn’t believe it. I knew this link up with Jon Anderson was planned, but to see them all together now is brilliant. What a fantastic sound they create together, phenomenal.
And Jon just seems to get better and better. What a fabulous video from Michael Byrne too.
Would be absolutely amazing to be able to see them live.
This is wonderful. 🎶❤️🎶
This is AWESOME news, Richie!!! since the first time I ever heard you cover a YES song with the Geeks, I hoped that the universe would bring you together with Jon Anderson. Thank you, Universe!!!!
i'm siked jon still amazing geeks do wat they have to sounds awesome gave me the chills
Are you effin kidding me? I just had simultaneous ear & eyegasms!!! It has Richie Castellano stamped all over it! Nothing this cool since back at the old days at the Spectrum in Philly being engulfed in Yes concerts! Hopefully a tour will happen down here in South Florida!!! Bravo Jon, Richie & The Band Geeks!!
Congratulations Band Geeks. You all must be ecstatic! After doing all these covers, to be touring with The Voice and heart of Yes, Jon Anderson, all that work that you've done has paid off. So excited for you all. Hope that the tour expands and you'll find your way to Nashville. Awesome news!
Goosebumps! I listened to all these tracks last weekend. Yes concerts were the highlights of my teenage years in the 70s.
Mine too.
This is going to be an amazing show! No one, and I mean no one, can replicate Jon Anderson's vocals. Can't wait!!!
The lead singer from "Awaken" does a pretty good job. But there is only one JA.
Not replicate, no, but Ann Marie Nacchio does a hell of a job, putting her own mark on the songs. She absolutely wails on Close to the Edge and particularly I Get Up, I Getr Down.
czcams.com/video/aG-x1VbHRFg/video.html
You obviously haven’t seen Anne Marie sing the Yes stuff.
So fun to read everybody's comments...LoveYa RBC!
@@jolyonholloway483 Awaken is a Yes tribute band from the Northeast.
I first saw YES in September 1972 Crystal Palace with the launch of Close to the Edge, I’ve seen them a few more times over the years, and with this line up I would be so excited to see you Ritchie. You sound amazing.
I saw them on the CTTE tour too! 9/22/1972 Chicago
Me too.
Lucky to be at The Crystal Palace Bowl show - epic history and setting!
Damn, Jon’s vocals were on point. Its great to hear him singing Yes songs again.
Talk about a dream come true! We know Richie and his fellow band members have put a lot of energy into studying and reproducing the music of Yes with amazing results. They could never have imagined that it would lead to this though. I'm pumped and can't wait to see them. Hopefully they will come through Arizona. Dreams can come true! But it didn't happen by accident. Hard work and talent not wasted.
This is FANTASTIC!It was destined to happen at some point. It took me back 50 years and brought tears to my eyes! How is it possible for someone in his 70s to sing as well as Jon does?He sounds exactly as he did when these songs were recorded.
With the total failure of Steve Howe's Yes to sound anything like they should,I consider The Band Geeks to be the real Yes and clearly Jon has endorsed that too.Let's hope there are further collaborations with Jon(not just clips but full songs)but their female singer is excellent too.Could be the start of a whole new beginning for Yes!
Absolutely brilliant Jon's voice is still velvet and a massive well done to the Band Geeks for keeping the yes sound alive fantastic musicians 👏👏👏👏
This is perfect! The band sound like Yes in their prime, and Jon still sounds just like Jon in his prime!
Absoloute genius! Hair stood up on back of my neck. MORE PLEASE
Yes personified to perfection! Thank you Jon, Richie and The Band Geeks!
Wonderful! Absolutely top level. Jon’s voice is fabulous.
YES!!!! I can't wait to witness this live!
TRULY MIND BLOWING!
Like others I've marvelled at the talent thats able to reproduce the music of Yes so brilliantly. I've watched your videos dozens of times over. Just found out about the link up through this video and am now considering a trip over from the UK just to see the show
Richie how the hell did you pull this off? Epic.
My question too!
Just put a smile on my face, and warmed my heart. Jon Anderson+Band of Geeks = Happiness
Jon's voice is hitting me right in the feels in this video. Glad to see him bringing YES music his way to the world, and these guys sound fantastic.
Damn, Jon is sounding better than he has in years! Can't wait to catch this tour!
I´m so happy for you to be able to play with Jon!!!! Congratulations!
Unbeliveble. We miss Chris and Alan, so this is like a resurrection. Go on, geek band! Thank you all
WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, HUGE SMILES AND LITERAL TEARS.
I really enjoy watching Band Geeks and this is an amazing and well-deserved blessing for you. Missing Ann Marie! Congratulations.
OMGosh UST HIT AWAKENING!
Jon sounds amazing. :)
Yup. Me too!!
It's tiring at the end of listening to so many talents......... a legend who meets his best admirers. Always the best and the proof is made, Band Geek is more than a Cover Band. Love you guys !
Isn't It a dream come true??? Congratulations The Band of Geeks! Thank you Jon Anderson! Yes lives!
Audio visual perfection. Wonderful job Jon Anderson and Band Geeks.
Who needs "Yes" when we have this?? Way to go Band Geeks and Jon Anderson, really looking forward to seeing more!
And where is Rick ?
Or both. More Yes music is always a good thing.
@@juergenstelzer856 Not part of this project and doing his own thing as usual.
Great to hear from you!
Jons voice is the spiritual essence of Yes . This sounds amazing and inspired in a new way. The Band Geeks are the perfect vehicle for re-creating the timeless sound.
Great combo, one or the greatest voices in prog-rock together with one of the greatest coverbands in history.
I am so pleased to see this happen. Richie Castellano and the Band Geeks are so deserving of this accolade and endorsement. They have worked so hard, and watching their evolution over the last few years has been a treat. Congratulations!
What a "Treat" !!!
Thank You Gentlemen....
Great to see you all ✌️
I sure hope Jon and The Geeks make an official video of one of these shows!
His voice sounds excellent the same as it did 50 years ago!! Amazing 👏
Goosebumps!!! Jon sounds so re-energized! Please please add tour dates in the southeast!
The actual YES can't compete with this. Not a chance!
Although Steve Howe is a genious and no one can do the guitar parts as he does, I find even more important (to THE YES SOUND) the voice of Jon Anderson. And what a VOICE!
How many greats of the seventies prog scene (Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Ian Anderson,...) can sing (if alive; Greg Lake, John Wetton and so many more are dead!) and maintain this kind of vocal quality for 50+ years???
How can Jon still sing like this? Great to see that he's playing with you guys who can totally do the music justice.
No one covers yes tunes better than Jon Anderson -thanks Jon for all the great music with your gift of singing-taking on the “fiddle faddle’ of the Yes songs-thank you
I was honored to be part of the zoom/patron chat with John last night. It's been a dream of mine to one day meet him and listen to him talk. Well last night fulfilled that dream about as well as I could have ever expected. I only wish that he was going to be touring again in South Florida so I could hear him again. I've been fortunate to have caught him with yes in several cities over the country in my lifetime, so I guess I'm truly blessed in that fact. Hopefully there will be a recording release of this upcoming tour. He also mentioned on the chat last night that there was going to be a release of Son Of Olias which he attached another name to. I find that very exciting as Olias Of Sunhillow has always beem my favorite solo album of his.
Thank you, Jon, for the group chat last night. It meant the world to this old fan!
Rudy
Miss the Sunday concerts guys & gals... Love ya all!! 😎
🔥🎸🔥
So happy this came together. And 2 nights in my backyard in Collingswood! This is going to be fun. I would love to hear Going For The One with Richie on bass!
...and Parallels with Chris Clark on keys. Release Release would bring the house down.
I was at the show at the Lyric in Baltimore last night. I am a musician, and I know a lot of musicians, and many of them were present and accounted for last night. Some of us ran into each other in the lobby after the show, and there was universal agreement that the show was as good as anything any of us have ever seen. Most of us have seen hundreds of shows through the decades, most of us have seen Yes a dozen or more times. Even the original band never played any better than Jon and the Bank Geeks played last night. It was beyond incredible. I can’t tell you how many times I thought to myself “man I hope they’re recording this”. My 17 year old daughter, also a budding musician, was there and got to see a Yes show as good as any there has ever been. What a blessing for her. Only three shows left and no more close to here. Please let there be many more shows added for however long Jon wants to keep doing it. And by the way, i’ve seen Blue Öyster Cult many times as well, and I’ve always been impressed with Richie’s guitar playing, but the job he did on bass last night was beyond words. Chris would have been proud.
These songs are still in the same keys that they were 50 years ago. What a voice, Jon! And thank you Band Geeks for playing songs that are VERY HARD to play with precision, timing and articulation. You are doing a far better job than several of the musicians who toured with Yes in the past. I must say this video sounds amazing.
What kind of crazy wizardry is that? Never thought I'd ever again hear Jon and any band sound so much like 70s Yes. Freaking great! Too bad you won't be near me but best of luck on that tour! Stay healthy everyone.
How does Jon sound exactly like the studio albums 50 years later, it's incomprehensible.
Please, please, please record it on Blu-ray!!!
Absolutely fantastic. Jon is still such a beautiful, spiritual singer and performer. When are you guys coming to the UK? We are hungry for that authentic Yes sound!
Please bring this across the pond to London ❤
I second that!
as a fan of yes I am very happy for you guys!!!!
The spirit of yes is alive in this ensemble
Saw my first YES show back in 1975, Relayer Tour. Been a fan ever since. Didn't see them again until the Talk Tour, then the Union Tour, then caught a 'karaoke' YES show with the other Jon, and most recently the Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman Tour just a few years ago. I can't wait to see this show! I'm a HUGE Jon Anderson and Band Geeks fan! More Dates TBA? West coast? I'm not going to take a chance and wait to see......I'm taking a ROAD TRIP! Opening night is my goal. YES!!!!
The Bass, Keys & Guitar tones were spot on!!! Phenomenal engineering and production. I’m floored. I’d love to hear you guys doing some Trevor Rabin era stuff someday 😍
Wow! So Awesome! Lovely work on the visuals and edits. That band sounds great. Everyone here is so awesome! Looking forward to this tour. ❤🌎✨⭐
Wow wow WOW!! You guys sound more like Yes than the current Yes line-up! Just awesome!
Of course they do. They have the one and only voice of YES!
Please, please bring this tour back to the home of Prog! The U.K.!!! Jon’s voice is just as magical as it always was! What a great experience this would be for all us ageing rock fans!!!
This is such a wonderful moment. Thanks for making it happen!
This is YES. This has the tone, pitch, alignment and true sonic formula that is YES led by Jon. OUTSTANDING gentlemen. Bring it West.
Jon still in top form!!! YES lost such an integral part of the band & the Band Geeks are the lucky recipients... Have a great tour guys!!!
Jon .........We get to see the Dream Connector again!!!!!!!!!! Our 50th Anniversary year. Ouisiyes.......Rhysman. Really fired up! The Voice of Peace........
Please come to the UK! This is brilliant, well done to all 👍
You guys got a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform with Jon Anderson. I'd bet the tour was awesome.
WOW! Jon is incredible! how can he still sing like this? freaking AMAZING! and you band geeks...perfect!
That was….well, there are no words. What a delight for you and for us.
genius and brilliant Richie!
OMG... Wish I was live in US.
Yes is something outer worldly. You have a band that seems to be growing in its popularity, 50+ years after forming. So many are discovering them and are just blown away by what they have recorded. I cant ever remember, other than the Beatles, a band being copied, listened to and re-discovered as much as Yes has... and still is, and they will be introducing new music very soon. Steve, really needs to bring Anderson back into the fold. The time is now. I truly feel it would bring a magic back that is waiting to be released.
I literally had chills and tears in my eyes seeing this. Bring it to the UK please!
THIS is epic!!! congrats bro. so proud of you
This is so great... Should have been difficult to pull it together! Happy for you guys!!!!
This is amazing! Looking forward to seeing it live!!
Wow. Just wow.
Hey Dan✌️
Saw them many times and 1 time we got back stage passes, met everyone except Chris he didn't come out for meet n greet Got all their autographs; it was one of my best birthday presents ever!
O h m y f * c k i n g G O D ! ! !
I never thought I would hear Yes classics performed like that ever again... PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE COMING TO PHOENIX, AZ! I MUST SEE THIS SHOW!!! JUST WATCHING THIS VIDEO BROUGHT TEARS OF JOY TO MY EYES!!!
Simply fantastic
Uk tour please!
So good! I'm so happy to see Jon get a chance to reclaim his songs with an amazing band, bravo all!
Richie and the Band Geeks cover YES better than anyone I've ever seen. Close your eyes and you would think it was YES. Richie's bass work is flawless. Jon Anderson sounds as good as ever. Bravo to all Band Geeks.
I am beside myself with excitement! I'm a bit late to the party, having only discovered The Band Geeks since this tour was announced. Wow, don't know how I missed them before, but so happy to have finally gotten on board. I went ahead and booked a flight to Baltimore from Florida (on my birthday!!), on the off chance that no Florida dates will be announced later. (None so far.) If you do come to Florida, BONUS!! I'll be there, too. I never thought I would get to hear Jon singing these great classics again, and with such an amazing vehicle as the Geeks backing him up, at that. Richie truly seems to be Chris Squire reincarnate, something I've not found since Chris' passing. He has that classic "Rick With A Pick" tone down pat, and his vocal harmonies are outstanding. Counting the days!
So good. Really well done guys 👏
I LOVE how Jon's voice aged. So much depth to it now.
Wow, wow, WOW!!!!!!
So glad to see Jon back in the game. Band Geeks covers Yes like no others, and with Jon aboard, the competition is simply non-existent.
Oh my god please play in San Diego! That would be a dream!
All you need to do is add the dates for the Australian leg of the tour ;-) When are you planning on coming down to visit us?
Congrats to The Band Geeks!!! Wow
