  • Stella Power (1896-1977) was born in Richmond, Victoria. She received vocal lessons from Elsa Wiedermann (who had taught Melba), then Mary Campbell at the Albert Street Conservatorium in Melbourne. Melba took her on as her protege, and she became known as 'the Little Melba.' She toured the United States in 1918 and went to England in late 1919, remaining there until 1923. From 1924 to 1934, she sang in North America. Later, she returned to Australia.
    'Se Saran Rose' was recorded on 13 October 1919.
