Thanks for the update! I'll be sure to check the pop off. I also picked up a 1242A carb I can try.

I have been meaning to do an update video as it has been a while since the last time I did. That carby that you got works well on obr reed engine. I tried to cover a lot in this video and forgot some other issues. I need to write the issues on paper so I can cover all issues on the video. But the problem doing that makes the video too long and a lot more time to load the video on utube.

It would be nice to have footage of before and after to prove your point. I’ll be keeping mine the same.

Good morning, Ben. OK, I cover 3 or 4 subjects in the video, so which one are you talking about. As all before, videos are on utube. .The after videos will be coming. If it the subject about wj71, have a look on Taylor's website of the supreme 71cc engine, and it says it comes with modified metering wj71 carb. I would say it's meter to 18 psi on the needle seat, as there are normally 15 psi on the needle ( pop off). I have ordered new tools to mode and check the pressure and air leaks .. The only video that I don't have is obr wheel standing back in the day, but I have couple of videos of a stock baja wheel standing and a air cool baja motor in a 1.5 metre boat I did 15 years ago, just type in my name and it will come up on utube. Yes I will be running some obr engines running to compare to a Taylor 35cc. But what I find, once you play with big engines like Taylor 71cc, the small bore looks slow to compare to Taylor 71.

Man I’ve been running a wj71 that came on my 71 supreme for a grip now on my 35 Taylor Reed and had no issues. Sucks you had issues. Australia must have way different air

Yes I know you got that wj71 off your Taylor 71. Remember I asked you what fuel you were running, which makes a difference as I only run 98 fuel. I be on putting new wj71 I have on ,as I do not want change the metering on it as it suited to Taylor 71. I will sort it out soon 👍

So at what psi do i need to set the metering spring to for a small bore

Your ears must have been burning, and it's your lucky day. Well I not sure what a spec is on the pop off on a small bore, as there are no real specs on the net.But what I have found is that the pop off set at 18 psi and it breed down to 10 to 12 psi fully seated. were the needle is close. But check first your meter arm height with a Warbro gauge, which is the shape of a W and check the pop off with your pump gauge. I did a Wj71 carby of my Rovan 71cc engine and this is what I found. The psi pressure was 35 psi on the pop off ( the needle seat). So I ajust the pop off pressure to 22psi and breed slow to 13 psi fully seated. To do this task, you have to cut the metering spring bit by bit and checking the pop off to get this spec.If you not sure what I am saying I been doing a video how to check your pop off pressure and show how to check leaks on your carby and motor. This is a subject that 2% of people in the RC world would know and 98% would not know. My Taylor 35cc engine is using a Wj71 carby which was off my Taylor 71cc and they are meter different to suit Taylor 71 engine ( pop off). I run my my Taylor 35 engine couple days a go and it's going good now and I will explain it all on the next video.
