- #SheppardSpeaks heads over to the 366th Training Squadron where our civil engineer training happens. Hear from TSgt Gerardo Lopez-Ruvalcaba, an HVAC instructor and Airman Sierra Wagle, and HVAC student. They keep us cool when it heats up!
I'd think this would be a smart job to get in the AF or any branch for that matter. You could do your 4 years and basically have a $25+ hr technician job waiting for you in civilian life.. or do 20 yrs in a low stress field, get a pension, and come out with a $75k+ a year supervisor position waiting for you at a civilian HVAC company.
2002 3E4X1 Graduate and Permanent Party on Sheppard with the 82nd Civil Engineering SQ from 02 to 2005. Now my son who was born there is at Lackland in boot preparing to return to Sheppard to attend Crew Chief school.
Graduated this course in 1975 USAF. Still at it many years later. It was a great training center then and looks like it's equally great if not even better now. I highly recommend this career.

When u complete tech school and have arrived at your first base you have to train for your 5 level. Once you have completed your 5 level there’s this thing called the af cool program which has a lot of certifications that relate to your afsc. The Air Force will
