I feel like they should curate megatins more. Only reprint the good-decent cards. All the rubbish cards that we all know are pack filler should just not be in the set.
Pull rates will probably be horrendous
Especially if they reprint something originally in Ultra or Secret Rare as Common or QCSR and they short-print specific cards to make pulling them even more difficult.
I miss the big tins with one monster on them. An sp little knight tin would be boss. A playmaker and yuya tin is needed as those characters never got their own mega tin
I was thinking the same. Yuya is probably my favorite protagonist at least one of my favorite characters. Got the odd eyes and dark rebellion tins but no yuya on the cover
Yuya could've got skipped because pepe was so OP it got an emergency banlist and got like 20 cards hit
We got Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon tins, but nothing based on Yuya himself, nor Playmaker - they had to settle for the Dueling Heroes tin last year alongside Yugi, Jaden, Yusei and Yuma.
Then you would have to deal with resellers buying them out and reselling them. You don’t want that

I can't stress this enough. Big youtubers getting together and calling for a mass boycott for a fiscal quarter at least will make Konami rethink pulling this kind of shit. They need to know people are willing to walk away.
The prob is some literally cannot afford to. Major backer being Konami, who pays for things like travel expenses, so no Komoney means less appearances at events
thing is sets like these make the game more accessible because a bunch of cheap reprints are what players want, so any boycott of a reprint set kinda makes those youtubers seem like a badguy.
boycotting core new sets or deck build sets sure, but reprint sets in a game that is desperate for mass reprints isn't going to come off to good. because these are way overdue reprints for playability and accessibility.
@@ProtossTempest That's my issue with yugioh being a job for content creators. There is less incentive to throw their weight around if they feel like their rent is on the line. Even if they make videos complaining about it, they still encourage buying product and attending events, which Konami wants anyway. I think they are fully aware of this dynamic, which is why they are trying to see how much they can get away with.

@@spicymemes7458 Personally I think the best products to boycott are the deck build boxes.
Unless Konami changes them they are pretty much a scam, having a ratio of 3 ultras per box from 1 of 3 archetypes and needing a minimum of 9 specific ultras to even run that deck, it's s scam.
You cant "build a deck" with the deck build boxes at least what is considered a deck and not a pile of jank.
Deck build boxes are both a main culprit for causing accessibility problems unless a archetype in the set is amazing and pushes sales are are just loses for local stores.
Look at the stores holding onto Valiant smashers hoping it will spike in value before the reprint drops.
Those are the sets that need to be targeted for any type of boycott.
Yugi/Kaiba themeing seems to be because it's going to be the TCG equivalent to the OCG Side: Unity and Side: Pride sets. Those two sets combined have 400 cards total. Except in the OCG they're boosters rather than tins and, as just stated, their 400 cards are split across 2 boosters.
I'd much rather have those booster boxes than a tin this year, frankly - it's guaranteed that Konami will short-print stuff everyone is looking for in order to try forcing more purchases of this tin.
same with rarity collection 2, konami wont reprint QCRs as QCRs. You can deduce what will be in rarity 2 and then after, you could deduce what will be in these tins.
I'm just fed up of seeing ANOTHER DM TIN. Please Konami, we are begging you to use literally ANY other series.
Not that it's DM, but it's uninspired. I liked the Gold Sarcophagus and Ancient Tablet tins in how they were designed, but it looks like we are back to just a generic tin with anime characters on it.

POTE is probably for kurikari divicarnate reprint, but at the same time, last mega tin had some POTE cards as well as the banned card branded expulsion at the time of that's megatin release.

Yu-gi-oh has a huge issue with accessibility that is the main reason to reprint a large backlog of sets that need a reprint, like yeah a large set makes it harder to pull specific cards, but it makes entire archetypes and engines accessible for cheap. that that is way more important for Konami right now.
Otherwise they kinda need to shove another product into the yearly cycle because for accessibility they need more reprints more regularly, basically this isn't a product that will likely help you hit that one QCSR you want but it will make a lot of deck cores cost super cheap that that is the important part.
Finally a good comment, deck cores are always dirt cheap after megatins
This is a great point. So many people complain constantly about needing more reprints and now you don’t even need to wait a year for things like AoO. And this is part of an existing product line. The response: anger. It seems like some people will take everything to a 10.
It’s fine to be frustrated it will be harder to pull specific cards, but this is not a product destroying change.
Don't you think it's weird that you have to wait 1-2 years for something to be accessible, usually long after a deck is viable? Yeah, cheaper stuff, but largely irrelevant.

But also one thing to keep in mind is that while archetypes maybe irrelevant for competitive play, competitive players are a minority a loud minority but still a minority when it comes to the hobby.
The larger majority just want archetypes they enjoy to be playable for cheap regardless of competitive viability.
on top of this these are the people more likely to buy sealed which matters far more to konami.
A few years back it was a little different Konami was focusing on collectors and resellers, because it was safe at the time, but with more card games on the market that isn't safe anymore.
And recent sets are proving accessibility is profitable and that collectors and resellers will buy product regardless of meta value as long as you give them some type of chase.

This is why I moved to focus on commander instead of ygo. I want to love the game again but Ko-Money doesn’t do anything to balance their own game and make it so it’s fun. They just reskin annoying playstyles in Dark type or as it is this year Fire Type monsters.
Yeah. I have been focusing a lot on goat. Even edison left me cold. I dont want to play competitive if it will cost me 800 dollars. I also dont want to get kalut and oppressioned for game anymore. So its goat and jank like infernoble flame swordsman and nouvelles vs my friends budget horus or budget branded.
I’m sorry, are you honestly saying you getter better values from Wizards? You have the price of precons, price booster sets, the company basically selling you overpriced singles with Secret Lairs, the FOMO baiting with the limited time releases, and so much more.

I'm getting tired of all the DM era duelists being dragged out of their grave to be paraded around, I get why they're doing it, the DM era was mostly normal monsters or cards with disappointing effects that didn't work like the anime and those cards aren't competitively viable which is why we get so many retrains, but give us some 5Ds era themed tins 5Ds was super popular, can't we have a Yusei vs Jack tin?

I'm one of those crazy people who would have rather we gotten a Joey-themed Red-Eyes/Flame Swordsman structure deck with a with an actual Red-Eyes Flame Swordsman as chase card or even a "Gearfried the Red-Eyes Flame Swordmaster" which would be retrain of Gearfried the Swordmaster as a boss monster.
I still want the rest of the Landstar cards from the anime. With a Fusion connecting them to Red-Eyes called say "Red-Eyes Dragon Knight of Landstar"
I'd mostly be interested in the Duelist Nexus part since I still need a few cards from it

I usually love the Megatins, great reprints and such for budget players, but it feels like they might be stuffing too much into this one. Konami is really starting to lose it with the way they are making product, trying to force chase cards into every product at low, short printed ratios to sell as much product as possible. I'm sure the QCR alt arts are going to have an extremely low pull rate because they know collectors are going to pay big money for them. consider all the filler and bulk that is probably getting reprinted here and even the sets that allow budget players to even play are getting ruined.
to cut back on pack bloat, konami needs to remove the commons (and maybe the normal rares) from every set being reprinted in these tins. then drop everything else by 1 rarity.
also, include Promo cards and theme the tins around them.
instead of making a Yugi/Kaiba tin, how much more hyped would we all be for new art raigeki tin and new art limiter removal tins?

I don't mind them doing a lot of different sets in the tins, but my beef is that they don't often use this chance to rarity bump cards people want. Like, rarity bump commons and rares from favorite archetypes so that players can at least foil out their whole rogue deck. Instead, we often get a rarity bump of a secret rare to something higher, or we get rares or supers printed as commons.
Or heck. What about Joey Vs Rex? After Duelist Kingdom they did duel again in Waking The Dragons (I know its filler. But still) And we finally got Horned Saurus & Kaioptera (Two cards Rex used in that duel) in Maze of Millenia.
Why does it always have to be Yugi vs. Kaiba? Why can't we get something like Yugi vs Atem, or Yugi vs Jaiden, or Yusei vs. Jack, OR ANYTHING. Seriously
Because all the popular yugitubers will cream themselves and talk about how good dm is and how if konami wants to expand their audience they should pander to goat format yugioh and act like gx and everything after didn't happen.
Actually I’m not really sure if there can be a Yugi vs Jaden tin mainly since that duel only happened in the subbed. Honestly I would like some non canon series versus tins like for example a Kaiba vs Zane tin.

Can we please, for the love of all that is holy, stop doing Yugi and Kaiba. No one cares about the cards that this matchup creates. There's nothing wild in there, nothing useful, and no one cares.
On top of that, the last tins were painfully mediocre at best.
And doubling the whole pool is absurd, like, pick the best sellers and move on. You can't have a set with 400 cards and expect it to sell well, it's so stupidly high roll it's not worth it, before we ignore Konami short printing
So long as Ghoti from the deep beyond gets a qcr reprint and Deepest darkest depths gets a prismatic secret reprint I am happy with this year’s mega tin.

This is nice and all, but people are still gonna buy the product. Even if it's just singles. We can all hate the DM theme tins. we can all hate the 400 card set, but as long as there are cheaper chase cards, you people are gonna buy.

ehh starter prob ots more expensive rn, blue is 20€ rn if you go for ulti, 12-15€ for secret and rest of deck is pennies, i build my sprights for 100€/ also have nearly all side option like adventurer/frog/tri/melfy myutant.... i like the deck a lot you kust get the core and start collecting lv2 stuff.

I'll just wait until the little annoyance gets banned and overall deck prices go down to get back to paper yugioh.
Personally, I'd rather see a 150 card tin with 6 cards as limited edition and in quarter century rarity of a new card or certain cards at random. Alongside this, maybe konami needs to lower booster sets to 50 - 60 cards that are well made and thought out as well as being done seasonally with two additional reprint sets of no more than 100 cards that include new cards.
I will defend the tin reprinting pote for the simple fact that most of the tearlament spell/trap lineup never had foil printings
I wouldn't be suprised if by the time this was released, it had Sanctifire but Sanctifire was banned for it's interaction with Gimmick Puppet Nightmare. Given the fact Quem and Sanctifire need a reprint and Sanctifire is bannable, it would kind of be a repeat of the tins that reprinted Branded Expulsion after it got banned, which while poetic, it's arguably worse this time because the size of the set means it's unlikely you could see the reprint to begin with. Imagine trying to pull an S:P which I doubt will be in the tins unless they put it low rarity (doubtful because it's sought after and konami's business model) only to pull a freshly banned Sanctifire or equally banned Kitkallos, dare I say V-link extrodinare Firewall Dragon Singularity, which doesn't see play outside of maybe jank Code Talker lists and mathme- oh wait, circular is banned too
The branding of Yugi and Kaiba is something I care far less about as it's a sarcastic "wow, it's Yugi and Kaiba going at it again." I genuinely care more about how they pretty much screwed themselves with their known business model, the fact many chase cards of the sets are either banned or should be banned (circular is debatable and singularity isn't really good) and how they'd pretty much be reprinting the not banned ones in more or less the same rarities as before (S:P Little Knight in secret and/or QCR again, anyone?) Given how sought after they already are, only now they're harder to pull because they bloated the set with too much
The tins are good when the promos are (the 2020? Ones with nib and such) besides that, they just aren’t worth it minus opening maybe a couple for fun. Hell I still see 2022 tins at some big box stores

I don’t care about the Yugi v Kaiba theming since that consistently makes money, but I would love if they did the other DM related match ups. I could see a Joey v Mai or Marik doing really well. My biggest issue is set size. Why would you reprint so many cards at once? Literally what’s the point?

Genuinely see no point buying a couple of tins. Will be funny if SP/Kurikara are short printed QCR's as their value might not even drop if they're 1/30 tins (1/100 instead of 1/50 due to short print).

Honestly waiting for the probable yugioh reboot where Konami loses hold of yugioh. Share holder are already not happy. Tins are usually the only product I buy other than singles. There literally has not been a single set this year where I bought sealed product. This is so ass bro

The larger the set, the less likely chase cards are pulled, meaning more product needs to be purchased, and prices for singles are kept higher than where they should be. Rarity collection fixed this, so it stands to reason why people see the mega tins as a problem in how they are handled.
It's not even worth buying RC02 day one, they basically doubled the price from RC01... With the tins being a 400 card set, it's gonna be hard to justify buying multiple or even a case of the tins when the pull rate's gonna be atrocious. Good luck pulling any chase cards.
if little knight gets reprinted and goes down from 90$ to 20$ it's still a huge win for most players!

what I'm saying is more supply will definitely flood the market which will decrease the price. we don't know if there'll be short prints, how big the SCR pool will be (remember of the 400 cards, most will be common) and how many chase cards will be reprinted. too many unknown variables tbh
@@frankunodostres473 Except the problem is SP is played (sometimes in multiples) in basically deck, Regulus was not. SP (which also might not be in the set) is also going to be 1/400 rather than 1/250 ish
@@MegaCapitalG it's not 1/250. there were 70 SCRs in the 2023 tins. you get 2 in each mega pack, 3 mega packs in each tin. so in each tin you get 6/70 possible SCRs.
that's not nearly as bad.
and we still don't know the ratios. the SCR pool will be bigger but you will also get more SCRs per tin so in the end it will most likely not be a big difference

I’ll always support a Yugi vs Kaiba theme. Plus it’s an international marketing scheme that the masses go for. It’s not like Konami ever gives them any up to date support to compete in today’s Yugioh
The issue is they keep giving it garbage support that at the end of the day just ends up being more bulk.

the problem isn't the size.
The problem is the rarity spread, you can't put every single playable card in a secret rare version and make everything else into pack fillers.
I doubt I'm buying the tin this time. The theme is overused, the dropping of certain lower rarities means that certain cards won't be in the tin, and the addition of sets like Power of the Elements means that there is going to be a good number of undesirable cards. Most importantly, the size of the card pool will make it harder to pull certain cards.

I feel like the odd man out, but why does the tin theme matter? Yugi - Kaiba, so what? If it doesn’t affect the contents, then it’s just marketing.
If we get back to the point where the tin themes have related programs I would get it, but being so uptight over what is essentially who is on the box seems stupid.
it being a yugi kaiba theme means the set will be stuffed to the gills with bewd & DM crap you don't want, most definitely taking up a disproportionate amount of the secret rare & QCR slots to further dilute your chances of at least pulling something useful in high rarity.

People there's lots of people selling and buying in groups. Buy singles. Better for the environment. And you'll have less cards to hold on to that you might not use.
Although the secondary market for singles is only possible because early adopters buy large quantities of product, so it is unavoidable for everyone
