  • Welcome to another fitting video
    This time I've been sent a great Wunderlich 6ltr Click Bag by Nippy Norman in the UK. I like a day bag when touring as it allows you to store stuff that you need during the ride such as wallet, passport, tickets, drink, etc, without a need to dismount the motorcycle.
    The links to the bags on Nippy Norman's site are here

    Tank rings, required to fit the bag are motorcycle specific and stocked again by Nippy Norman. Here's a link to the K1600 one:

    Below are various links to kit I use, or items referenced in this video.
    These are amazon.co.uk (United Kingdom) links and clicking through and purchasing does earn me a small commission and costs you nothing extra.
    I'd be really grateful if you are buying any of these if you used the links and help support the channel.
    Thank you

    Nice tutorial. But I use myself the Givi bags, a little one (XS319 - 3 liter ) and the XS308 (+20 litres). In the most extreme steering-wheel displacement, you'll find the bar against the biggest bag. But that will not often be the case. Givi will not mention that these bags will officially fit the K1600, but they certainly do.

    I’m looking at a tank bag (I’ve never owned one before) for my drone and other gear. Although the SW-Motech WP Yukon Pro is more expensive, it’s a much better bag and fully waterproof. The mechanism of the SW-M doesn’t look like a 5th form craft project either!

      Beauty they say is in the eye of the beholder. Check all the movement of the handlebars against switched with whatever you go for though 👍🏻

    Hi Nick, they are most useful, like the fact that you can fuel up without having to remove it, unlike my Givi one of the same size. The only plus with the Givi, it's key lockable to the tank ring which I do like. Thank you.

      Thanks for the comment Stephen. I like a small bag but security is an issue for sure. Dubious of soft luggage for that reason although on some bikes I’d prefer it 👍🏻

    Another great video.
    However, i'm not impressed by how this bag is located on the tank. I understand it needs clearance for the bars but it is way too far back for me, it looks out of place and will put a lot of strain on the tank ring, even if loaded to the recommended 3kg.
    i think maybe some bikes with swept back bars are not suitable for tank bags.
    once again, another good video, i'm looking forward to the next one.

      Hi Richard. Good comments. Remember I have it as far back as it will go and I think that’s the reason the washers go under the two original bolts as that very much supports the back of the ring and keeps it well clear of the paintwork?? I’m not over happy with the height and much preferred it compressed for sure 👍🏻

    Hi Nick,
    Will the bag scratch the tank when driving over uneven surfaces?

    • @nickhodgeUK
      @nickhodgeUK  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Certainly not while elevated it’s miles away. I also doubt it when compressed

    Hi Nick not seen a video for a bit so i hope you are ok. Quick question about your K1600. I have just bought a very low mileage 2022 option 719 which i love to bits. However it tends to 'drink' oil to the tune of 300 mm per 500 miles. I did a test for BMW who said this was within tolerence. Have you had any such issues with your K1600. Best wishes Peter

      @nickhodgeUK  Před 9 dny

      Hi Peter. I’m all good thanks. Yep the tolerance for the consumption on the K16 is very high. It seems to be a bit better with continuous use. For example on my 10,000km (6,500 mile) trip to the top of Norway last year, I topped up with a litre total. My mates R1250RT used none. However after a shortish (1,000 mile) trip around France and a few short rides (maybe 5/750 miles in total), it needed 500ml too. It was also newer then. It also has a weird way of checking it too so beware that as last time in topping up I overfilled as it was not as low as I thought. It is in the manual how to do it. Good luck 👍🏻

      @@nickhodgeUK The product. You do a good job. Those types of tank bags are nothing but a bin to dump your stuff in.
