Yeah I'd agree mine have pastel colors or dark colors and have an alicorn oc as me but she earned her horn and have a huge difference, she earned it from another pony that's not celestia. I loved making her and she is not a M-M-M sorry I can't say the word.

My alicorn OC is the daughter of Tirek and some other mare.
Name: Scorpia
Parents: Tirek x another mare.
Traits: Rebellious, a bit mean, has a soft side, not like any ponies. Foul mouthed, and very much hated by Ponyville
Backstory; she was left on the gates of Tartarus by an unknown mare. She was the daughter of Tirek after he escaped from Tartarus once before the show series. There we a note left by Scorpia’s mother saying that Tirek should keep the baby, after years of being raised by a villain she had gotten a nasty attitude towards the other occupants in Tartarus. Tirek told her that she needed to get revenge on the ponies for locking him up, but, instead, Scorpia did jack shit about her dad being locked up and went outside the gates of Tartarus after giving Tirek the bird 3x.
This is a good OC.
I don't hate alicorn ocs, I hate mary sues and alicorns that don't fit the show's realm. Also, when I attempted at making an alicorn oc, it was too hard for me to find the perfect balance in all categories. The design was also so bad so I ended up deleting the oc
My oc is an alicorn and at first she was a Pegasus, I remember coming up with her design and being like,"Why can't I do this hmmmm, no don't use that creator thing!!!! Ok calm down and just think carefully. Got it!" Yeah that was what happened, I scraped many designs like u and am proud with my results.

I've had an idea for an alicorn for awhile. Princess Tiris.
In an alternate universe, an alicorn flew over Equestria, and took away all the color, rendering everything various shades of black, white, and grey safe for herself.
It's a dystopia where without color, the populace is borderline braindead.

One day though, a monster rampaged through the town, and not thinking, the unicorn filly, after finding its door locked flung herself into an abandoned building. To her surprise, it was an art museum, and it was in there that iris found where all the color had gone: trapped in cans. What she would eventually call the "colors of harmony", Tiris brought the colors back into the world with the aid of her friends; they ran through town, splashing the citizens and building with paint, filling them with new life!

The alicorn tyrant's color draining and bleeding out with each can opened.; until her true self was revealed, her body black as pen ink, and bones nothing more than rolled up pieces of canvas.
*Picking up a paintbrush, she felt the fame and reverence people had towards the princess flow into her. Her mane a rainbow of colors, she stroked her brush along her sides, painting herself Pegasus wings. * Princess Tiris was created.

Powers wise, she can bend and distort reality by her ability to bestow color onto the world she lives in, and can manipulate how people think based on the colors they see.

Her weakneses are mostly mental, she has hydrophobia, worried that one day her colors will melt away, and her magic along with it if she goes out in the rain or takes a shower.
Personality wise, she's very kind and generous; however she's very childish, she painted herself an alicorn's body, but she still has the mind of a filly. Because of this she crumbled quickly under pressure, and her rules and laws are based on what's fun rather than what's important, delegating the boring stuff to her advisors. *that's all I got for an alicorn OC, what do you think?*

The fact is that my Ponysona Marcus is an Alicorn.
BUT, His horn and his wings are both broken so he can't use magic and he can't fly anymore. Wich makes him a simple "earth pony" if I can say that.
Also, he have a lot if bad points instead of good.

So I can take time to imagine things for him ect..
My alicorn oc wings are broken but she can use magic. She is very old, both of her daughters died, because they were fighting each other because her oldest daughter was an alicorn while the other one was an unicorn. I'm bad english too X3

Edit: After 3 years, my opinion's changed. Now I know that alicorns can be amazing and they often are. One of my biggest problem was that they stood out too much with their alicorn heritage but then I thought: "Wait, this is oc making, let the people get as crazy and creative as they want! I shouldn't judge."
Not to mention alicorns can make for some awesome stories and cool designs.
I also can't judge if the character's overpowered just by looking at them. The overpowered thing isn't a character problem, it's a story problem. That being said, overpowered characters can be awesome if played right.

My "alicorn oc" isn't even an alicorn. She's a half changeling.
Basically, her mother is a unicorn, and her father is a changeling. I know changelings are based off of insects, and usually the male insects go off, find a queen, do Fun Times, and then die while the queen lays eggs forever. But this is MLP and changelings seem to be more pony-like than just pony-shaped-bugs, so bleh.
Basically, my logic is that since the mother is a unicorn, when she changes into a pony form, it has to be at least a unicorn, if not a unicorn with wings. She CAN turn into an earth pony, but it's very exhausting. She can easily give herself pegasus wings because changelings have wings. So she isn't an alicorn, but rather a pegasus/unicorn (no earth pony magic).
She cannot turn into inanimate objects like full changelings (such as rocks or trees). Nor can she accurately change into other preexisting ponies, at least not without severe strain. When she turns into a pony form, her most easy and comfortable form is an original form, basically her "pony genetics" from her mother. What she would've been if her father was a pony.
As for living creatures like Kirin, Zebras, Yaks, etc, she cannot change into those reliably. Usually it's an incomplete transformation, with holes in the legs, or bug wings, or even pony parts like her pony coat color etc.
I've had people say she's OP because she has unicorn magic AND changeling abilities, but idk... I feel like she's pretty balanced?
My oc is an alicorn and the "Princess of Reciprocity" as I like to call her. At first, I drew her as a unicorn. Then, I went through depression and wanted her to be a "higher position" than others to make myself feel better, basically making an alicorn Mary Sue. All the hate on the internet and criticism lead me to where I am today.

She was the daughter of of an oc of my mom called Haven Cloud, a Pegasus who married a unicorn. Originally, Haven Cloud was supposed to have a unicorn foal. But, her arch nemesis King Sombra, wanted to kill Bubblegum (my oc) because of a prophecy that was said that he would be defeated by a princess and forever trapped in his icey solitude. He destroyed every village, town, and city in his way to find her. When he came into contact with Haven, he knew immediately that the foal was going to be the princess. He was about to cast the spell when Bubblegum's father (unnamed) threw a rock at him, chipping his horn and messing up the spell to where Bubblegum transformed into an alicorn in the womb. Angered, King Sombra killed Bubblegum's father, leaving Haven a widow.

But, when Bubblegum reached the age of 19, Luna took her in as her student, the both growing a close "mother daughter" type relationship.
But Bubblegum isn't perfect. She has a fear Sombra will come to take Luna and her biological mother Haven away from her. That's why her fiance, Beastman, is there to protect her. (She is also a part werewolf because of her father) Beastman's brother Physco absolutely despises her, too. Her physical weakness isn't quite thought out yet.
What if there was an alicorn OC that represented consequences? They have the ability to see consequences of major events, but with it comes their own consequences- consequence-ception! It's not a constantly occurring ability, but when it does occur, it leaves the alicorn with either a massive headache or physically weakened from the toll of the ability, depending on how big the consequence is and how lasting it is- in other words, how much the alicorn has to look into it. If it's a simple 'people will be upset but things carry on as usual' then it's not very taxing for the alicorn; however, if it were a complex 'we could either stay at peace or go into a full blown war' then the alicorn will be very tired and could possibly faint or completely pass out for a while. Not saying a millennia or years, but up to 2 or 3 days.
This brings to the question of why an alicorn? While this could be applied to a unicorn, it would probably be more suitable for an alicorn to have this sort of ability, especially if it's considered a very powerful ability nearly rivaling time travel itself (yes, I'm aware that Starlight Glimmer managed to preform time travel, but she's a powerful unicorn.) This ability would also work out in an alicorn's favor if they happened to be a ruler like the Princesses; they would be able to make decisions for how to rule their kingdom, knowing fully well which consequences could come from it.
....Holy ship on a crick, I think I've landed myself with an alicorn OC....

Yeah, Starlight Glimmer is a unicorn whose power far surpasses any other unicorn, she's on the power level of alicorns
1. I don't mind alicorn ocs, if done right. Even if they are done wrong, at least the creator was willing to give it a shot.
2. That aside, the most difficult part about the alicorns is *why* are they an alicorn. It would be hard to construct a story that is realistically understandable, but not to the point where it's too bland. I've made my share of bad ocs, and from looking back at them, I can say that I made improvements. My number one tip is ask a friend that will help you, but is not afraid to be the straight man.
I agree with this. Ive seen quite a few, bad, pony generated Alicorn OCs (those are the most annoying). But im working on an alicorn OC that i think is fairly good, with a mix of bad a good. Sad backstory, but not impossibly sad. Always have to keep asking these OP questions, and whether shes getting to positive, etc.
When I made my oc, who is a alicorn, I took this into account for my backstory. She never wanted to be a princess or be.. Special I guess, and so she went into hiding, and learned most things on her own. I would like an opinon on this, as I am new to this backstory thing ^-^

I feel like giving your self a challenge is good, and that's exactly what the Alicorn does, not to mention the Mary Sue is like a stepping stone for a good oc. (We all had to start out somewhere.) Of course the oc will get better as one grows and sees some things that should be added and taken out, most of the time, one will work on an oc for many months, even years and still not have it finished.
And now, when you have an incomplete Alicorn oc, they'll automatically deem it a Mary Sue, which I think is quite pathetic.
When I personally look at Mary Sue Alicorn oc's, I think of it as a painting, a painting with room for improvement, if you work on it more, it'll get better. It's quite simple. Not to mention FUN to help others out in making that perfect (I'm not talking about Mary Sue perfect.) oc that fits their personally and is right up their alley.
How others view a Mary Sue Alicorn is pathetic, most people see something they just want to rip on and tell them. Example "Oh, don't use bright colours!" There not even giving a reason to why they shouldn't. But when they reply they want to know what pallets to use and they won't help.
Like what does the community expect, them to automatically get better with no problems?

I'm starting to feel bad about my OC. I know, what's wrong with most of the alicorns, but, c'mon, I'm watching like, 5th video about them. And everybody says "If your Oc is an alicorn, then propably is the worst OC I can imagine". It's a bit a shit storm, but I feel really bad about Iris (my alicorn OC). Yeah, she is powerful, her special talent is teleporting and traveling trough dimentions, and thats why her backstory and life is a one huge crossover. I was creating her for a long time, actualy since I was 9 or 10. Then, YES, she was OVERPOWERED PEGASUS. Isn't it worse than an alicorn OC? I think so. And yes, she was supposed to be a princess some time ago, but now she's a regular pony with much of magic energy, wich is studiyng magic. Isn't it good?

I feel like Flurry Heart would grow up to be the princess of Hope, because when she broke the crystal heart she somehow brought hope to the ponies just by smiling. When Twilight made her cry, she (extremely) soon brought more hope to her.
People don’t like Flurry Heart because she makes so many mistakes, what the fandom keeps forgetting is that hope starts from negative emotions. You need a REASON to hope after all.

Type: Was frist an " Mystikal pony" (That's right fokes I had my own pony type!) Then became and Alicron
Powers: Anything that had to do with mystery things (I know creative)
Flaws: This was my first Mary Sue so there are none

How she got her wings: she was at school with her friends and saw something horrible happened and went over to save the pony of which she used a very high class spell that only alicorns can do and that's when she got her wings

Type: A Fire Elemental/Pegasus
Powers: All things evolving heat or fire he can control/create when he wants too
Weakness: If he's in the water for too long it can greatly effect his powers for the worst and ice just speeds up the process
Flaws: He is too calm for his type and when things call for him to blow up in your face he won't and he gets bullied by it, he is shy and is not one to be out there, he also is a very curious which can easily be his downfall if not careful, he is sometimes pessimistic when will just give up if he doesn't see any point of going on with his or others plans or goals but his friends are always there to try and help him
Good Traits: He is street smart and can get you out of bad situation when needed, he is also very resourceful and will use the things around him to get to his goal, he is very creative and that can help when his running low on resources and finally his is a team player
How he became a fire element: As like everyone else he was born white and could easily hid in the snow when ever he went over to the ice kingdom but then the day of element came and because if his burning passion to try and be the best and prove everyone that he was worthy of any element he was give Fire

My very first OC was actually a recolor of Luna but now changed completely over the years.

I made this alicorn OC as a representation of my past, she was born from a common Pegasus-Earth pony couple in a small village. As she grew up, she was highly stigmatised by her surrounding for being “better, smarter, kinder”. Her being an alicorn is a miracle and she can’t control it. Isolated, she became more and more sad and one day left her little town and from that day on, she constantly wears a saddle to hide her wings. She no longer trusts her peers and has become a workaholic, trying to preoccupy herself instead of getting distracted by her past.

Nothing bad really happened to me... Yet at least... I have so many questions about myself.... Why did I make such a cute little- 11 year old- alicorn OC but gave her one of the most sad and depressing back stories ever....? What is wrong with me

Alora Glorialis: Represents Balance. Is a combo of all
Can only use the same magic as her friends. She was the ruler of a distant land where the alicorns originated. She directly harbors the magic of friendship and helped to create the element of Magic with her close friends. As her friends passed away, she lost her powers and the magical land that she ruled became forgotten to the rest of the world.
My first OC (a unicorn):
Abilities:
- Can absorb a color through his horn to gain a power; think like Kirby but with colors, and he can only have one color power at a time.
- Is strong, but not that durable.
- Is weak without using his signature ability. This means you can easily weaken him by burning the colored fabric squares he takes with him often, which more often than not reduces the colors he can absorb.
- As stated above, only one color at a time, so rainbow is impossible. However, shiny colors such as silver are possible. For example, silver makes him far more durable, but his movement speed is significantly reduced and his attacks are weaker.
- His pink (love) ability can only work for up to an hour, but he can deactivate it at any time before.
- He can lose his ability by being attacked with enough magic.
Appearance:
- His mane and tail are mostly like Daring Do (grayscale Rainbow Dash); not entirely a recolor, though.
- He is all white.
- His eyes are gray/grey.
- His cutie mark is a triangle (representing a prism) with a pale rainbow (representing the light separating) passing through it.
- Stallion.
- His horn changes to the color he absorbs.
Personality and other traits (+ for positive, - for negative, ? for neutral):
+ Willing to help others out.
+ Tries to be polite.
? Decent, but not really good at combat.
- A little bit antisocial.
- A bit impulsive at times.
Backstory:
Not so much is known about him. His parents aren't with him at all, but he still stands strong, both internally and externally. What happened to his parents? Uhh... Yeah, they moved far away with a sad goodbye, but he is still thriving without them. He has his own home and he still misses his parents, but doesn't get too depressed about it. He did get the color abilities through volunteering to experiment with deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) splicing despite his reluctance. He was rather scared, but he pulled through. With the splice, his psychokinesis can't lift heavier weights, however. He feels a bit of PTSD when you ask how or why he has the powers he does because he was (and still is) scared of needles.

@@cfystalsarchive Thanks. I made it years ago back when I knew less about designing characters, but I think he still stands up decently to this day. I just made up the backstory while I was writing the comment.
maybe a bit late but my biggest problem would be the magic of the colors, I think they would work differently in Universe. An example would be when that the people of one village drifted apart from each other the whole place lost their color the same goes for the main 6 when DIscord corrupted them and they greyed out and turned into the opposite of their prior Charackters.
I think, if he uses colors as a magical source, it should be magic which works on an emotional and social level + it should be a very corrupting magic cause he literaly sucks out the magic of something colorfull. Even though it's just one color at a time if you wanna go over the top with the idea and take out the whole potential of such an ability one could end up in a scenario where this charackter could take away pinkie pies or twilights colors changeing their whole charackters and leave the elements of harmony disfunctioning.

@@Dractrism I think if the charackter would be able to take colors away from beeings would make the ability too OP. It's just spinning the wheel further similar to how people get creative with how far water bending can go.
I think setting limits, like only beeing able to do it with objects, is very crucial when it comes to abilities which could be abused! So yeah it's the right call limiting it like that ^-^
As something that personally helps, I generally continue writing about OC's just to unlock them if you know what I mean.
Constantly drawing (or thinking) and writing really helps with character development, as well as constructive criticism.
Nice explanation on how to make a well made Alicorn Oc Ty, there are peeps out there who need this info and are hopefully grateful for it. Now, as for my opinion on them, while I am more into the fan base then the actual show (i.e art) I have a neutral feeling towards Alicorn Oc's. I never generally make Fandom related Oc's because there are too many people who can't give you proper criticism instead of trying to understand what you're trying to develop with the character. (Oml, bear with me if you're actually reading this) Alicorn's are just normally stereotyped as perfect princess/princes, and that's not a way to tag one's character if one hasn't even bothered finding out the owners backstory.

My OC has a pretty complex backstory and although she has a very good reason for it, she's a bit op when it comes to magic. And her relation with characters already in the show is that Luna adopted her without Celestia knowing it and she lived in the castle of the two sisters for a while. Even after Luna was banished, which caused the legend of the "pony of shadows" to begin
While I do my best to make good OCs and make adjustments to keep them down to earth, it is great to hear these techniques told a different way. To get into the personality, it helps to write some dialogue, like their responses to certain situations, making sure it isn't too general and not many other characters would respond the same way.

(Yes they are both alicorns. ;-;) Aqua started as a unicorn, and her twin started as a Pegasus. Both always got along with each other & Rarely fought but when they did I'd rather not tell you what happened.. Began to get bullied cause she didn't use her horn as well as other foals. Saw Luna in her dreams after the first day of school, then the unexplainable happened. (Really I can't think of a reason I'll update it later..)
As she woke up that morning she and her twin screamed when they saw each other their parents freaked out. Making their baby sister cry. (Yep a new addition) They noticed they had become alicorns.. Everyone had sudden respect for them .. Their parents still freaked out went to canterlot to try and find an explanation ..

I have an alicorn on and I've been working on her for awhile. Several paragraphs explain the night she became one and the scars she got from the nigh. No the scars aren't suppose to make people feel bad for her but help understand that she doesn't stop. Like you said about alicorns embodying something mine is "no matter your size and age. You can stand up and protect those you love most." Since that's what happened to her. She got her buttkicked and almost died but she didn't give up for the sake of her family. Course there is one scar she is a bit self conciouss about and tries to hide it even from her husband (another oc of mine that's a unicorn). There is still more to write but anyway, I do enjoy it when I see people saying "hey just because it's an alicorn it is not a automatic Mary Sue"

I've got 4 Alicorn ocs- one for each Element (Earth, Air, Fire, Water). I kept all of this video subconciously in mind- and it still helps me today!
I wasn't going to make an alicorn OC, but I ended up with one after buying this absolutely beautiful character off of someone. Now I have to figure out the backstory and all that to make it work!
I remember how Josh scorcher mention this which is really the best way to put this. *Alicorns are like dubstep music. Way too many people over use it without knowing what could be made good about it.*

Personality: Loyal and helpful friend, really disorganized when working in his shops, can become short-tempered if he is awakened after a tiring day, easily bored. Overall, Iron Horse is a nice character to be around, even if he can get a little testy at times.
if anything, i learned my leason with making ocs a year ago. Someone gave me advice (not for alicorns but for every oc in genral) so add good and bad. After a month of trying, i got a good oc. Im glad people like you are doing this for others. Especically since i need the advice from time to time
I have a band of 4 alicorn siblings that represent the seasons. I’ve tweaked them over the years and I feel like they’ve definitely improved since back then 🤣
The only (or at least one) of the reasons why I have an alicorn oc is because she is a feathered necromancer dragon in another realm and I couldn't exactly choose between a unicorn or a pegasus.

Honestly, I'm not really a fan of most alicorn oc's. Most of them are royalty, or superior to most, from what I've seen. Some, however, have a good story, and I like. It all depends on the character's story and placement in the world.

I have this very powerful character(he’s an emo prince but in an original universe)
Short backstory;He was bullied by peers and collected a very violent way of seeing things, as well as an untrusting POV.
He doesn’t enjoy anyone’s company except for two people, one being his beloved mother(who adopted him at an old age so he calls her grandma) and the other being his love interest who in a not so great time in his life helped him and ignored others opinions of him.
When it comes to these two people he would protect them to a fault and would never do anything to harm them even if they hurt him in the worst way possible.
Personality in general; destructive, quick-to-anger, violent
Personality to his mum+love; caring, protective, loyal, trusting, and trustworthy
If you have any questions about him just ask, even if is just more detail about a specific thing or a thing I didn’t mention that would help with analysis.
Was he always an alicorn or did he earn it, if so how. From what I've gathered from your character is that he was a tough more overbearing character. I doubt he would be bullied with his character traits and if he did probably use force to make them back off. Personally I think your OC could use a few more visible positives or nuteral traits to more than his family. I think that would help him look less like a character who is past remedy who wants to watch the world burn in revenge to more of a character who was misguided and let the mean side of them take over their judgment. Tldr more info in backstory and more nuteral or positive traits most people can see without a strong relationship with him
pink cat gamer tv, after his childhood his life went rather well and the reason he was bullied was a racist society(he’s not an alicorn). He is supposed to be a trash character, when I was a child I was like “he’s so sad and emo and stuff” but nowadays I’m totally fine with him just being a giant arse. Probs. should’ve mentioned this but they aren’t actually an mlp oc I was just binging Mary Sue stuff and decided to finally mention it on this one. I have another alicorn OC in the works. The first I've created her back story goes like this. She started out as a simple unicorn who enjoyed reading books about Nightmare Moon, who ends up starting to worship her. As she gets older her personality begins to shift towards a more evil one. Eventually, she gets transformed into an alicorn named Nightmare Shadow.

i feel like an authentic way to write positive/negative traits is have a positive trait become a negative trait under specific circumstances, and vice versa. you're stubborn? you won't give up on your goals no matter how hard they are, but that also means you're slower to accept help or admit you're wrong. you're an ambitious go-getter? you achieve your goals successfully, but you also don't know when to stop, or when you're crossing a line. it helps flesh out the character more imo.
a character with too much power is the main character from one punch man, I know great example. He has too much power, he's bored, losing touch with humanity, in a way I guess this can be a good trait too. Like a story on how your oc becomes more in touch with pony kind and she/he loses power somehow. Also it would be really sad if you went and said "Mines the best, oh so powerful, luna and celestias sister for life"

Personally, alicorn OC's aren't terrible unless they are a complete Mary/Gary sue/stu
The only problem is the constant use of neon and rainbow colours. I think soft pallets with just two or three colours work so much better than bright, hard, neon rainbow

I have an alicorn OC called Princess Era (Princess of Time) and she's patient but confusing, meaning people don't really understand her. She has a necklace with a rose gold gilt watch inside it. The watch can be opened up and Era often uses it to go back in time. Just like Celestia and Luna, Era has an evil side called Timeless. This side just wants to go back and make everyone she ever disliked die a painful death.

Hm... This seems like pretty good advice! So, if I were to make an Alicorn, I think I'd make him not feel like he should not have any sort of higher position in the community, which is somewhat how I am. Let's say he saved the world, and for that, he became an Alicorn (I'm still a little rusty on how a Pony becomes an Alicorn, so bare with me) but he is rather dissapointed about it, considering the fact that he does not want to have to deal with all of the "Ooo! You're an Alicorn! You have a very high rank in society!" crud. So he just tries to live a mellow, calm, average life. But it's very hard, as Ponies often question why he'd want to live a life like that. He also believes becoming an Alicorn for saving the world is unreasonable, as he was just doing a good deed, which everyone does (not everyone saving the world, but doing good deeds and crud), so he doesn't think it's anything special and worth getting all of the attention about. How's that sound so far? (I'm asking for a reply from anyone, not just lé CZcamsr)
I guess he'd also have a very low self-esteem, due to him being ashamed of being an Alicorn for what he considers "Just an act of helpfulness for the community/entire world."

Alicorn's are tricky to make. I once wanted my OC to become an Alicorn as part of a story, but I decided against it after hearing so much about how they cannot be anything but overpowered and unecessary. I pretty much believed it. Maybe there are enough Alicorns in _Equestria_, but one could create another country that this Alicorn would be needed for. Aftr seeing this, I may try again just for fun. I like how you put the emphasis on the need for the character to have flaws and not completely depressing backstories, and about bwing related to canon characters (mainly the established Alicorns). I think now maybe I will try to make a male Alicorn for once, instead of the stereotypical female. I might also work on refining older Alicorn OCs I have made so that they are more acceptable.

Something important to note is that while the advice in this video is great for creating a higher quality OC, having a high-quality OC doesn't necessarily have to be the end-all. As long as you're enjoying creating and doing whatever it is you're doing with your OC, nothing else really matters, you don't owe quality to anyone when you're creating for yourself.

Strengths: athletic, strong, magical, and has a will to help others weakness: fear of wasps and bees and his anger can sometimes make him go out of control. My character has a dark blue coat and brown mane. He has the lunar module for a cutie mark.
My OC is a earth pony that can temporarily become a alicorn because if he becomes a permanent one he dies. In a vision when he first became a alicorn, he saw his own death so he tries not to have wings or horn. When he has horns or wings they are always glowing white and lasts for a few min.

his back story is kinda...complicated. But it is not as if he has unlimited powers. In fact he struggles greatly with his power. He is also ashamed to be a alicorn because he knows others will treat him differently in a bad way. So he keeps it a secret. All he ever wanted is to help others.

bonbon pruductions You might want to consider giving them some more negative traits, to avoid making a Mary Sue... They probably won't be loved by everyone, because nobody in real life is like that. Maybe they don't have any self confidence, paired with their shyness? Or maybe they hate being in crowds or have trust issues? Try making them a little more relatable by adding flaws ;)

ive only used bases/pony oc maker to just get an idea of what i wanted so i didnt get too frustrated on getting anatomy stuff right while drawing. i think to a certain degree, using OC makers/bases may help map out ur ideas/designs. course i dont support using this all the time, and claiming it as ur art. but it makes for a good rough draft in character design

As long as you make an Alicorn OC with flaws, a relatable backstory, restrictions and all that, then I have no complaints. A character is not a character without flaws. It's what makes them 'human'.

The thing is, Tia and Luna have never seen an alicorn be born from one alicorn parent and a unicorn. That's porbably why they were so baffled, otherwise it'd be kind of weird, considering that there are other alicorns that exist.

The book was written to help fill in some gaps regarding Alicorn lore. Not all Alicorns ascended creatures as Tia and Luna were both born alicorns.
