Went into Season 3 ready to edit Matthew and Diana came out needing to do this for Gallowglass!
Considering we didn't get flashbacks or a vast amount of material of all that Gallowglass did for years I felt you could really feel what Steven Cree wished, Gallowglass' sacrificing, free and unconditional love for an incredible woman.
That he would spend hundreds of years waiting to spend decades in the shadows of a woman he knew could never be his. Bless Gallowglass.

this is the most tragic character. he deserves love more than the other heroes. this is the ideal guy .... let's hope that he will meet his mate in the next books. Steven cree is amazing ;)

Unfortunately no he’s in love with Diana that means he can’t love anyone eles he can physically be with them but he won’t love them it’s why his father/stepfather (what ever you choose to call him) tells him he’ll have to leave it’s because he could trigger a fight between himself and Matthew

I love that they didn't go too far with the tragedy/sadness of his character, because it's a pretty epic unrequited love, I'll be honest. Spending centuries waiting for this woman you met, befriended, and was astonished by, then acting as her secret guardian for her entire life until she meets her soulmate, who is a close friend/family. They could have gone really heavy with the angst there, but I'm so glad they really kept the LOVE at the heart of it, the comradery and familial bond they share. _Still hurts like hell when you fall for your best friend's girl,_ The guilt of envying your beloved friend, the feeling of foolishness at knowing she was never going to be yours to begin with, all of that just overcomplicates the emotion of heartbreak even more.
Gallowglass's story is the perfect setup for a spin-off series, and I really hope they utilize that. Because while Matthew is a wonderful, dark, reformed badboy, Byronic, romantic hero, (and perfect Yin to Diana's Yang,) *Gallowglass is the guy anyone would be LUCKY to have fall in love with them.* Caring, badass, smart, understanding, compassionate, competent, serious but with a great sense of humor, sentimental, protective but not territorial... oh my god he's just perfect! He is way more my type of romantic hero, personally, and I hope he has a wonderful epic love story too, he deserves it!!

Lol it was never ment to be a love triangle after the second book people were saying vampire love in the story was pretty toxic from they explaining just touching a mate could lead to a fire to Philip who could use magic and was pagan being ok with his mate hunting witches he was supposed to show the other side of it he is intensely in love with her knows that he can intervene and steel her away from Matt before they meet and yet he dosent he just wants her happy

@@hollywoodpineapple8337so in the books it never really explains but i chock it up to the fact that hes a pagan he was originality roman and has been prying to the gods for thousands of years my guess is hes as close to a high prest that exist and invocked the goddss to bless them

Of course it was heartbreaking. The bond they shared was developed centuries in the making. He was her guardian angel and only second to Mathew was the best character in this series.
His voice is really comforting.

The only bitter part season 3 is I have to witnessed how heart broken Gallowglass..😞
I would love a spinoff for Gallowglass. To know what happened to him. Where he went after his duty was done watching over her.

How could you not love a teddy bear like Gallowglass? The character as he’s written in the book is even better, he’s jovial and warm with Diana, while being protective and scary for outsiders. I was sad his character wasn’t explored more. I wish he got a follow up instead of Marcus, whom I also liked a lot, just not as much as Gallowglass.
Apparently, the author is planning on writing a book for Gallowglass... I can't be too sure but that's what I heard
@@kerrymaher2317 We can only hope! I didn't realize she was considering writing more in this vein. Of course, there was a ton of time between Matthew and Diana leaving Phillippe and Gallowglass and Diana being born. That could be quite a novel!

There is a book about Marcous Any way already, I have read it as well. It is called times converts. It's about Marcous his whole life from his childhood untill now plus how exactly how his girlfriend because a vampire in order to be together for ever ,wich of the characters actualy become her vampire mother and where they live after!! You should read it it's amazing and I liked Marcus a lot more also I appreciate him a lot more. We need the story about Galloglass thought!!! I agree !

The book isn’t about Gallowglass 😭😭 he might be in it but it doesn’t revolve him. She’s posted about it on her website. I’m so sad to hear it!

Gallowglass is my favorites character in 2 and 3 series ADOW. All his scenes with Diana were beautiful. I wish him find the love. Awesome video!
Gallowglass could've tried to steal Diana for himself if he wanted to since he has been with her since she was a baby and watched her grow up, but he didn't. He could have been selfish or greedy but he didn't. He could have made a move on her, he had an earlier start than Matthew, but he didn't. He made sure Diana met Matthew. And he didn't hold any grudges or ill feelings (for not getting the woman he loved) towards Matthew even though he is closer and knows Diana better than him. He remained a good guy 'til the end, never sabotaged Diana or Matthew. That takes a lot more than just self control. That takes a good man, a truly good man, to be able to resist such urge. Admirable, truly. I don't think many of us would be able to do what he did had we faced the same circumstances as him. My guy is surely the embodiment of perfect in this day and age, anyone would be lucky to have someone as great as him. I'm head over heels for him, and he's fictional. 💔
In conclusion: I want a Gallowglass spin-off where he finds someone great for him, I want to see him happy too. A wholesome heartwarming story for a wholesome character.
He deserves his own book series where he finds his mate.

I think the story lines designed so we fall head over hills for Gallowglass , I don't care though it's working.
If you have been in an unrequited love, you will really feel the pain. I know it because I feel in love with my best friend. She was my friend since second grade but she doesn't see me the way I feel about her. And, she has three kids now with her husband and she made me a godfather of one of her child. So, you have to stay away very far from her and hoping that distance and time will heal my heart. But, distance and time haven't healed me yet. The love is still there after 21 years.

yep he deserves a book...harkness wrote one for marcus and it was boring...now gallow glass would never be boring..i hope she is paying attention to what fans are saying...keep your fingers crossed

fernando tells him to not let matthew know...but if you look at the scene where gallowglass leaves you see mattew holding one of the babies and he knows that gallowglass is leaving..you can tell by his eyes..and in the book he admits that he knew or at least suspected..but he also knew what kind of man gallowglass was and would never act on his feelings..debra is battling cancer now but says she has other books to write about the bishops and the de clairmonts..and that gallowglass is going to be #4 of the books..steven cree rocks as gallowglass
yeah, I just finished season 3 last night and I clearly remember the scene you were mentioning, I was convinced that by the time matthew heard gallowglass’s motorcycle went off, I had this instinct that somehow he knew about gallowglass’s feelings.

@@holliewinbush473 After watching "Discovery of Witches", a friend gave me the first book in the All Souls Trilogy. After much grumbling about not wanting to read fiction, I read it and then promptly purchased the rest of the trilogy. I never read fiction, so this trilogy was my first foray into fiction. Very glad that I did as I totally love the characters (especially Gallowglass and Matthew!)
Did you know that Teresa Palmer and Steven Cree star as a married couple in the movie "The Twin"? I'll never be able to look at Steven Cree as anyone other than "Gallowglass" as he was cast perfectly in the role!
How could he not fall in love with her 😩 he literally protected and watched her become this powerful fearless witch knowing she was gonna find Matthew. His feelings for her grew from afar but you know he loves her deeply 💔💔

He was the character I crushed on in this show. He’s epic.
This absolutely broke my heart to watch. I cried so much when I saw this the first time, and I still cry. His character was so well written here (I've never read the books). They didn't push the heavy agenda of him being in love with her. They didn't go to hard with it. They didn't throw him a pity party. They actually made you feel something. They made you feel the utter heartbreak that he was experiencing. You shared the pain with him. And what's so great is that he did so much without expecting anything in return. He loved her and wanted her to be happy, even though it wasn't with him. And with him being charged by Phillipe to watch over her, he was given the power to change the course of events. He instead chose to do the right thing. And that makes you love him even more, but also make you hurt for him more. He's a truly admirable character. The kind of friend we all wish we had. Selfless in every way. He always placed Diana's happiness over his own. And what I find better? I believe Matthew knew of Gallowglass' love for Diana. And instead of turning against him for it, he showed silent understanding. Beautifully done

I hope gallowglass can eventually find someone to mate with be them creature or human. OR I hoe he is back in the new book. It’s so sad that he just leaves once the twins were born. He was such a caring character. I hope we see more of him in future book(s) even if it’s a side story like book 4.
I wouldnt mind Gallowglass finding someone else BUT what I always hate with these stories is once the main characters find love everyone even though super old suddenly falls in love within the same time period, its always strange. Gallowglass can geta time jump film where maybe he finds someone in the year 2099 or something...A futuristic vampire series perhaps.

wow this is so tragic- I don't ship them at all but I love this tribute and I hope he can find love- wish they explored a brotherly love aspect but I can see how he would fall for her- sad it is not reciprocated- reminds me of Jacob in Twilight.
Maybe Diana and Gallowglass will somehow end together... Maybe someone from the dark side will end Matthew somehow... We are going to see...

I feel so want to ask Deborah to give an alternate story to see what would happen for Gallowglass and Diana, if something happens to Matthew. Like in true blood Matthew could've lose his memory after some accidents, Diana struggled to care for him and the kids then Gallowglass comes to rescue. Eventually they fell in love before Matthew remembers - that would be a good story!
seems like needless angst to me. It was Diana's abilities and Matthew's blood that made them the perfect match. Gallowglass was never meant to be hers and vice versa. It's dumb to add ridiculous elements like amnesia to these love stories. Amnesia is actually pretty rare and it never written accurately (another knock to the head usually equals further brain damage, not a sudden reversal of memories) and, in general, is a trope of lazy writers in my opinion.

@sivonni on top of that Matthew is a vampire and we all see that when they drink blood memories are shared so completely impossible he would have to be human to even sustain a head injury like that and yeah just completely impossible
Keep it in your universe my friend. No matter how much I want a happy ending for Gallowglass, it will never be to overstep Matthew's path.

One thing that people are ignoring today is that Gallowglass was from the older world, a world of Chivalry and Honor values feminists today mislabel as misogynist and chauvinistic and so are the values of Matthew from the same time periods and yet neither one harmed Diana by choice even when they were fighting their natures because they love her.
