i had ALOT of those tosti's with the turkisch sausage between it....those are the best in the world (even tho the sausage is quite expensive when you buy it, but worth it 💯 ) Also you cant beat a good durum! (im from the netherlands)

I didn't see my favourite. In 1974 we were in Istanbul and walking down a residential side street near Hagia Sophia and stumbled across a little take-away. It was a louvered window opening onto the street from a private home and they made these parchment paper wrapped packets of deliciousness. I've never seen them since and at only at one Middle Eastern restaurant did I speak to an older gentleman who kinda knew what I was talking about. A mixture of meat, vegetables, and spicy broth (steamed I think). French cooking has a similar type of cooking technique, where they're baked. Perhaps not finding them again retains the recollection more powerfully. Lol
Before I traveled I had had Greek baklava many times, but, having the Turkish version was so amazing. So many super thin layers of phyllo pastry each brushed with clarified butter. The pastry had a richer almost shortbread like flavour, and retained its crispiness. The honey was also superior. Of course their heritage as the center of an imperial empire affected their cuisine.

@@sberkbayram googled it. Maybe, but done in parchment paper for takeaway instead of a stone pot. I'll look for a recipe and give it a try. (With a clay pot since I don't have a stone one- lol). Thanks

Hi, thanks for the video. We like to visit Turkey as it’s a beautiful country. But the recent involvement in the wars has us concerned as territory overspill is likely. Any feedback/opinions from the locals would be great.
İts safe. For Turkey going for war is really hard.There are steps for that for e.x parliament acceptance.And other things on our southeast border is usual and really far from İstanbul,İzmir...But you know bad things happens anywhere on world. But except this fact, dont worry you will enjoy your time and of course too many foods that you didn't see on this video.And of course tons of historical places.Just be carefull with our taxi drivers since even our people complain about it. Take Care...

Soğuk Sandviç yapan abi Asker abi Kadıköyü gördü mü ki acaba. Adam utanmadı 2 tane patates kızartması koydu ya. Kaşar peyniri zar gibi 2 parça çeyrek yumurta artı 2 dilim domates akabinde 3 parça sosis. 1 yaprak marul ile 2 sap maydanoz ama yaprağı yok odununu koydu....

Food looks good, but I noticed they are very cheap on putting enough meat or ingredients onto bread or pita bread. At 17:25, those are mighty good looking big sandwich bread, and look at the little portions of meat they put! That's a crime!
