- Just before the New Year, Sheryl and I were DYING to get out on a snow holiday but didn't think it would be possible because of the notoriously high prices. However, to our excitement, we managed to find a super cheap holiday with Crystal Ski (not sponsored - and not sure I would recommend tbh despite the price) and booked the holiday right away! So Sheryl, James (Sheryl's brother) and I, headed off in the 2nd week of Jan for a cheap week of snowy bliss in Meribel and the 3 Valleys.

l love winter...just got back from a 15 mile ice skate on the frozen upper Missouri river in Montana USA...sitting on the deck and having a beverage...watching a little youtube and enjoying our mountain vistas... before the next snow blows in this afternoon on this first day of February...always enjoy your contagious good spirit...keep spreading it.

Ski holidays can appear deceptively cheap but soon costs start to rack up. Especially if it's your first time skiing. Let's say you get a bargain like £250 for 7 nights. Then you have to get a ski pass appx £200. The package may not have included skis and helmet rentals apps £200. If it's your first time you will need lessons 3 days let's say appx £150-200. Chances are the £250 holiday package did not include lunch, dinner and drinks. Ofcourse you will need the right ski-wear and that can cost easily £200 plus. So first ski holiday like this for first timers expect to spend at least £1000. But it's so much fun totally worth it.

Very nice! I’m a boarder myself, from Hawaii. Love traveling all over EU to board their open terrain. I love surfing the snow! But how is it do you know how to board so good, living in England?! I think you should travel all over EU doing seasonal traveling sports. Winter: snowboarding/lodge parties. Summer: hiking. Its what I do: been boarding all over Norway (hiking to Trolltunga and all sorts of places) Sweden, Austria, and Spain. Would like to see how much lift passes cost and lodging from your travels. Love this video!!!

So I learnt to snowboard in New Zealand. I only lived about half an hour from the slopes so managed to practice quite often. I also had a week of lessons last year in France :)

Marvelous if you live in Britain as opposed to Australia, a plane flight of which costs well within excess of a thousand quid, no matter how accomodation, passes and additional expenses may be.

Those kinda prices not possible in America. They will hit you with a resort fee, state tax, property fee, conservation fee then the standard tax.

It was through crystal ski. We had quite a few issues with them on our return journey but other than that - very good value!

You may not check the comments anymore but hopefully you are because I have a question haha, say I paid the 250 you did for everything, how much more would I have to pay to rent all the gear for a week as well? And maybe a few lessons too
I’m going skiing soon and I haven’t skied since I was like 5 I also want to try snowboarding and I need lessons for both do you have suggestions on which to do first ?
Skiing is much easier to learn so if you're just going for a week, that may be better to get more out of your week. If you have longer, then could be worth learning to board! (I prefer it haha) but takes longer to learn 😊
