1:03 litterly 1 minute in. and you exactly showed me what i needed too see!!!! this image is litterly it. so much love to u! ill be renting this lens for sure
This lens is my most used lens in the Fuji lineup. Love its rendering, so long as you don’t use it for fast moving subjects. A close second favorite is 33mm f/1.4.
Love your in depth review bro! If I may add, what I love about longer lenses for street photography (aside from the comfortable distance) is the scale. Everything is straightened and compressed. The bokeh produced is a nice bonus as well.
Cool video! My favorite shot is at 5:29, I love the color contrast between the red shirt and the greens as well as the general composition, excellent image overall. I have the 90mm and the 50mm F2 but I'm considering swapping the 50mm for the 56 MKII when that comes out
Thanks very much for the kind words bro! Oh man the 90mm is on my list! How is it for street photography? Cant wait til the 56mm mkii comes out! I wonder if theyll come out with the 16mm f1.4 v2 as well
@@AndreoPhoto the 90 is a really unique lens, I haven't used it much for street but the long focal length makes it so that you need more working distance than you would with lenses like the 35 or 56. I love the pronounced subject isolation and strong background compression I get from the 90 when the situation allows for it and I plan to bring it with me next week when I visit Knott's Berry Farm
Great pics. I basically only carry my 56mm 1.2 and my 14mm 2.8 when I'm out on the street, wanting both and not wanting to carry a third lens. But yes, I always have a niggling feeling that I'm missing out on an easier lens for street stuff. Still, being stretched is no bad thing I guess. Like you say, the 56mm does add some nice elements.
The 56mm f1.2 will always have a special place in my street photography gear belt. But i have to say, it can get a little bit limiting. Im im the works of making a follow up video to this. Titled "the problem with shooting wide open" or something to that matter. You might be inclined to check it out 😁 ive always wanted to try the 14mm f2.8!sounds like you have a classic combo
We almost have the same lenses. I'd recommend a 27mm f2.8 pancake lens. It is glued to my camera unless I need to go closer or wider. I always carry my 56mm 1.2, 16mm 1.4 while the 27mm f2.8 II is acts as the body cap of my camera.
I'm a Nikon user then switch to Fujifilm my first Fuji cam the XT20 and XT4 with fujinon 33mm f1.4 always attached on it very easy to use. Amateur street photographer here in Rome .
@@AndreoPhoto looked around in the local camera store yesterday morning, found a second hand in brand new condition. Asking 720 canadian dollar, which is 570 us dollar.. then just do it ASAP lol
Hi! Congratulations for this video! Is there a formula that tells me what is the equivalent aperture from full frame to apsc? You said for example that f/1.2 on apsc is equal to f/1.8 on full frame
uy mukhang mahirap yan ah haha but that's a good idea. i bet it will be challenging to use the 50-230 for street photography. its not a fast lens with variable aperture of f4.5 to f6.7. thanks for giving me that idea!
Enjoyed watching your video!! I just bought this lens yesterday 🙂 excited to use it!
Thanks very much! Its a great lens. Hope you enjoy it. Am slowly discovering that it works well for video too

Salamat gd pre! Great point re: scale! I remember you use a 56mm as well. Would love to try that lens out one day!
@@AndreoPhoto yes! Ever since with Sony, I used a 56mm lens. Haven't made a video specifically why but I should someday 😂

Hi! Congratulations for this video! Is there a formula that tells me what is the equivalent aperture from full frame to apsc? You said for example that f/1.2 on apsc is equal to f/1.8 on full frame
Thank you! Yes, just multiply it by 1.5 :) for example f1.2 x 1.5 = f1.8
The DOF in a 1.8 lens in FF is the same than a 1.2 lens in APSC but gather the same amount of light
All my Fuji lens are second hand which includes 16mm f/1.4 -23mm f/1.4 -56mm f/1.2 -90mm f/2
I had 35mm f/1.4 which I sold recently.
Awesome 1.4s. Been meaning to try them. Also thr 90mm. How does the 90mm fare for street photography?
I haven’t used it street photography as of yet due the lockdown.
@@perryvalton4245 always wanted to try that lens. Cheers
