NOTE: While I mentioned Team Elisabeth being the canon KOF XIII winners (as it is confirmed they faced and defeated Dark Ash), this is somewhat disputed as Team Japan has a canon ending that shows them winning the tournament.

Honestly, Team Blanctorche does seem canon as the “Heroes” of each saga (Except in ‘03) win in each saga. But I wouldn’t blame you it Team Japan was canon.

i always knew about crimson but when I saw the new trailer that said he was a protag I was like "What?", from the story summaries id watched he sounded more like an anti-villain or minor antagonist, weirdddd
What?
He was acting like a cocky anti-hero to flee from elisabeth's hold and carry on his mission of removing saiki from existence "his evil master", if Elisabeth knew he would sacrifice himself she would've been a huge obstacle for his plans to succeed, he pretended to have gone mad and stole saiki's power because he was the only one able to control Saiki preventing him from entering the gate of orochi, After their fusion Saiki controlled Ash's body for a while and did antagonistic actions until kof xiii winner team defeated the ash X saiki being (dark ash) and ash regained control of his body, didn't enter the gate and vanished from existence together with saiki.

Destroyed saiki's body to prevent him from walking to the gate on he's own
And if u actually lose, like u dint get to meet saiki theres a bad ending were saiki's plan still dint work because ash still foiled there plans by releasing all the energy from those ball crystals
To be honest, I really like Ash Crimson, and if he ever gets a big return in KOF15, he would at least get a slight redesign

Indeed he did get a slight modification, however i didn't really like his model, but the cgs of the team's story ending are really wholesome.

@@manzanito3652 Falcoon is a very controversial artist, mostly because his taste of art is not reflected outside of Japan
I can't confirm cuz I actually din't go look for it, but if you look to Ash design I believe he was based in tanbi kei ( european aesthetic visual kei style), and considering that early 2000 was the time the style was really popular with a bunch of japanese bands going for this style and that Ash is european it would make sense. But I don't know if has a confirmation somewhere on the internet
I like to think Yoji Biomehanika had an influence on him. A popular DJ in the late 90s and early 2000s. Just google his look and tell me you don’t think Ash might have been inspired from him

I was one of those people that despise Ash Crimson do to his Feminine (Flamboyant) Design, but when KOF XIII happened, he has now become a Fan-Favorite,
I like how Ash's Gameplay is similar to Guile from the Street Fighter series (as expected from a Charge Character) and I'm actually surprised that he's way more Successful than Remy from "Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike."
Remy is getting a Resurgence tho
I remember someone on reddit called Remy a "budget Iori with a worse version of Guile's moveset".

@@TheChrisLotus But something that Remy had in his favor was that he was so differently visually compared to most street fighter characters which mostly had pretty stereotypical designs and sometimes still do to this day while other games had much more anime looking characters so maybe he was added to the wrong game to the wrong audience since he's super badass in my opinion and he was always funner to play as than guile tbh

I never thought of him being a rip-off of Iori.
He gets compared to Ash also because both of their styles are rooted in Savate. I think more people liked Remy than Ash though. Remy wasnt at the helm of being a Street Fighter protagonist, so who knows how most people would've seen him.
I always thought Remy was cooler than most other charge characters in SF (was never a big Guile fan, sorry not sorry)

@@nyx2889 Me too! Frankly it gets put down for having a shonen anime plot, but I honestly liked it despite that cheesiness. Besides, the gameplay alone would make even the worst story bearable. That said, I don't really love how the game kind of railroads you into the peace ending unless you're actively a jerk to everyone. If you're going to give the game two main endings, I think you should have more dialogue choices than just nice and mean.

Ash is short for Ashley. I know we called a dude) classmate that when we was kids. He hated the name Ashley because his cousins would make fun of it. I knew two other guys who went by ash with their full name was Ashley. And this in the mid- late 90's.

I doubt it, but Ive would've been up for that. Its not like no one knows about that game, plus I feel Windjammers is a game that anyone can enjoy.

Childish reasons:
1-Stole Chizuru's mirror and then threw her.
2-Set Shen up to face Oswald because of some assassination deal.
3-(Same reason 1) Stole Iori's flames while he's in the riot state.
Just because their favorite characters.
I know of one super obscure fire based charge character in fighting games: Pyro in X-Men Mutant Academy (the Game Boy Color version).
Additionally, lots of people were critical of Ash's design.

Ash literally has less backstory than any other characters. No matter how many ppl tried to summarize him, it'll just going in circle. Duck those devs.
@@mikashi1593 How about if there's nothing to talk about then idk... Dont say more than you have to. Most fighting game characters arent as "deep" as people are trying to make them out to be. But if you're a CZcamsr who wants to make it you "extend" certain areas when needed lol.
However, I respect your opinion. My own just doesnt tolerate this stuff. Ash Crimson is my favorite video game character (let alone fighting game character). Even I know there isnt much to say. The vid has good points just some of em are filler. (Some) fighting game characters are kept intentionally vague for a reason...

This video and the series isnt about making the characters "deep"(er) than they actually are. Its just pointing out unique and interesting facts about them. These are things that people who arent KOF super nerds or people who have never paid attention to storylines or small details, might find interesting. Sometimes its small things, sometimes its more complex things. I dont just pick every and any old fact and shove it in a video like some of these 50 - 100 facts videos.
Im fine with you not liking it, but I have to rebut this "deep" narrative. Like the final fact on this list was more humorous and light-hearted more than trying to make a profound point about Ash.

MY point was there is really NOT much to go on and tbh the video points seemed more like a CBR article (which I personally despise) more than it actually informs those on facts but that is more so the latter half of the vid (as you've stated). It has a bloatiness, about it that is not my cup of tea. On the flip side, thousands of people will visit CBR and I refuse to speak for others. Im only one man.

Many of the entries are kinda wacky. There werent too many I agreed with. I found myself laughing more than anything.
The kof XIII champions were Japan Team.
Apparently the official KOF XIV Manga de-confirms both and doesn't name a winner.
When I had previously said Team Japan won in a podcast, I got corrected and told Elisabeth's team won. I know Team Japan's ending directly mentions the tournament though, just didn't know whether or not that ending is canon.
