I searched for years trying to find this game, I completely forgot the name of it, what a feeling when I found it! It was also my first ever game, so much memories watching this game.
What was wrong with the aptiva keyboard? They were a standard QWERTY design nothing weird about them. Unless you mean playing with ONLY a keyboard, then ya that would of made the rail shooter segments a pain.
It was very very difficult game for sure. LOL the hardest part i think was that one guy when you entered the doorway and if you missed that was it, dead and of course the finale sortie attack. Yay no health bar. Funny thing is that you know for a fact that this video was probably like his 300th attempt. :p
Fun fact. You can move backwards during the potential kiss scene at the beginning. This causes your guy to refuse the kiss. From there, you are free to get to the ship without worrying about guards and such since you are still on neutral terms.
I remember thinking this was the pinnacle of computer graphics, and dreamt of the day computers could render these graphics in real time. Lol. Great memories, this game defined my childhood. Thanks
30 years. 30 years ago, this was the coolest and most sophisticated technical exercise I'd ever seen. -and it still looks phenomenal. actually better than most games that come out these days.- uh, sorry, nostalgia got the better of me for a second, there. went a little nuts. good memories, though!

I played this back in the day when I was six years old in 1994 as we got the game with an IBM Aptiva PC. I just bought the game on Steam now and I'm playing the game again, first time in over 20 years! Thanks for this video, it made it easier to get through it.
I loved to play this game but I had a friend (thanks Joe) who helped me through the tricky “puzzles” that had to be solved to progress. Still took me ages to complete!
It may have been a bad game in some ways, but the art direction and stylizing in this game and the way it was presented was onto something. This was the first cyberpunk style game I've ever seen and I remember when I first saw it in like 95/96 I was mesmerized by it. I think people ridicule this game to an unfair degree. It was groundbreaking in many ways, it just needed better gameplay mechanics. But the story has some solid foundational elements, it just feels like they rushed it in some spots. Unfortunate, but man what a cool ride to play this game from start to finish!
I remember how fascinating these first 3d games were. It was something totally new! It's not like to have better graphics, these were actually a brand new kind of graphics. Literally another dimension of movement.

The graphics and 3D rendered backgrounds were ahead of it's time. I loved the mix of puzzles and space shooting. A very unique and underated game.

This was my first PS1 game I ever got, along with Crash Bandicoot, Riven, and some demo discs, in a bundle box for Christmas one year. Must’ve been ‘95 or ‘96. I’ve looked for videos of this game on and off for the last 25 years and finally found this. So weird seeing how it compares to my memories of it. Mostly accurate! This game is so extremely 90’s. It looks like the kind of fake video game you’d see in movies where a kid is playing some fictitious video game on a nondescript controller.

It's 2024 and I have yet to hear a more thrilling cinematic sound production for the whole aereal combats in any other game. This needs to have a realtime rendition honoring the original.
Great game, played on my dad's Eversham Vale Pentium 75. Thought the graphics and effects were amazing. Can't remember making it very far through game, was solid.
the gameplay wouldn't be interesting. they'd probably have to load it up with a regenerating healthbar, endless collectibles, automatic save/load points, and all the static background adventure sequences would be third person behind the shoulder resident evil 4 style.

yeah back in 94 it was out there. looking back now it's likely impossible for younger kids to be able to understand.

IBM Aptiva 100 MHz Gen 1 Pentium. Also had Silent Steel and Hyperman included. Oh, also had dual boot with OS/2 Warp.

Man playing this with a Joystick was another thing. I wish they could do a remake of this with nowadays graphics. Pure nostalgia.
