If I were still playing these days, I wouldn't bother even trying to use my conventional racquet with these players. Too confusing. I would keep a fast-blade, fast _short_ pips, bat as a back-up in my bag; and keep it real simple: punch blocks and quick smashes. I'd try to end the point as quickly as possible, and not worry about misses or losing the first game.
One of Europe's lower-ranked but excellent players (I think it was Apollonia) was beaten by a fat old amateur long-pips Chinese twiddler this year. I remarked a few days ago that if the guy practiced at a top level for two months he'd probably destroy even Ovtcharov.
