Thank you this was super useful! Reading the rules was a bit confusing and this explained it perfectly.

I played the space version with my friends one time. One of the challenges drove us absolutely crazy and we tried over and over until we all decided it was time to go home! Have to get our revenge at some point and finally beat it.

We had the same experience with Mission Deep Sea on Thanksgiving. Tried one of the final missions five times and it just wasn't happening. I do like the mission selection process in this version though - more variety of tasks and it's easier to mix things up and deal out new tasks if a certain set is getting frustrating. It's such a great game but it requires a LOT of attention and everyone being on task at all times!

@10:44, why would it be impossible for the player to win 3 submarine even thou that player had the card ?? Coz other players might still play a smaller value sub and he (or she) can still win, rite ?

Good question - the mission card is to collect specifically the #3 trump card. Into your own hand, the captain can’t do it and have it count for your mission card. You complete your own mission cards. The only cards that can win #3 trump card are the #4 trump card or #3 trump card. It doesn’t matter if the player got other trump cards, they would have to specifically win #3 submarine and they can’t do that with both the #4 and #3 trump cards in the captain’s hand. Hope that helps!

Hi. Do you think this could be played with a 6 year old? Thanks

This would be a tough one with a six year old. You would absolutely need to loosen up communication rules quite a bit and even then it might be a stretch after the first few rounds of play. We’ve found even adults can struggle with the basics of this game unless they have a pretty solid background playing trick taking games.
Six is a great age for card games though - lots of other great options out there!

@@GameLikeAMother thanks a lot! I assumed this would be the case. May I trouble you even further and ask to suggest the best card games for a 6yo - simple, fun, short, educational value (if possible), high playability, portable. I am new to the gaming so struggle a bit with my selection. Thanks!

@@zuzanaihnatova7532 I love giving recommendations! Sleeping Queens has been a runaway hit for kids around this age. The Scrambled States of America is excellent and educational but a child should be able to read pretty well in order to be successful at the game. Also, I wouldn't discount the classics - Cribbage and Hearts are still some of my favorite games and a six year old can be successful at both.
