What's your advice on gaining financial literacy? How did you and do you learn?
The whole point of wealth for me is freedom. My magic number in my mind is 5 million needed at 65 to not worry about anything. Am i better off investing a good portion of my income into stocks or saving my earnings to achieve this goal?
Varied sources of income is wise and especially living within your means. My net worth is $2M and I can pay my bills with no stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.
Money advice is subjective, what works for you may not work for someone else, but it's always better to plan. I'm quite lucky exposed to personal finance at an early age, started job 19, bought first home 28, got laid-off work 36 amid covid-outbreak, and at once I consulted an advisor to handle growing my finance. As of today, I'm only 25% short of my $1m goal after subsequent investments.

I'm 50 yrs old & was laid off a few months ago. I have a few dollars in the bank but feel lost. I really don't know what to do. Fod hasn't answered my prayers or even talked tome. Had interviews but no one wants me. Not sure how much more I can take.
I'm 66 and I don't know how I'll survive the next 20 or more years but I know I still believe in God. Life is precious and you are blessed to be alive.
Hi Andrew, I had my company taken away from me by a partner so called friend. Completely lost, but I brought it back and now have a new company. Look at what you already know, skills, training etc. This is valuable, think of another way to help others even for free to start with. People need help this will give you purpose. Doors will open for you. Keep this in your heart you are valuable. I hope this helps.
Start taking every waking moment you have to learn about AI and how to apply it to add value to as many situations as possible.
The secret is that learning how to create value with AI has almost NOTHING to do with the technical elements.
Unless you want to learn how to create AI language models or machine learning models then that’s different.
Don’t conflate the two though. Creating AI is extremely technical and requires PhD level knowledge essentially.
Applying AI is like learning how to use a skill saw to cut boards and then figuring out who needs cut boards.
Yes you have to learn how to use AI as a tool, but it’s nowhere near as technical as you think it is.
It’s closer to learning a new language. That’s all it is.
I will be perfectly honest, this video was life changing. I listened to every single word. Dan it sounds like you’ve been to hell and back. I feel that I have as well in my life. I am 56 and want to start my own business. Thanks, Dan!

I didn’t share this at the event but i also had a similar story of facing 15 years in prison and when I got out of doing a 1 year sentence I thanked god and promised I’d live at a 10/10 but I never shared that until now because I was playing small and didn’t want to share my story publicly. That ends today. Thanks for being vulnerable and letting me share. No small plans.

Yeah, I’m also closing in on retirement, and I have benefitted much from using a financial advisor. I didn’t really start early, so I knew the compound interest of index fund investing would not work for me. Funny how I pulled in more profit than some of my peers who have been investing for many years.
This caught my interest. I worry that I have a couple more months before retirement, and I want to switch to using a financial advisor, but I don’t really know how to find one.
Monica Shawn Marti is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.

Don't be confuse buying the dip in a bear market, with guaranteed future returns.

My dad could build houses from scratch, was an electrician, plumber, ac tech without the certifications. He didn’t invest in himself 😢 he didn’t see his own worth and people only took advantage of him. He was brilliant, he could fix things and see potential. If only he would have seen his own, miss him ❤

Gratitude is everything. I also went through a lot and ended up securing a 6 figure job that provides a free luxury car and I am so grateful to God because I have received nothing but blessings. Don’t get me wrong, I had to hustle and scrap when I was unemployed, without savings left and a family to feed, but God rewards those who never give up and keep their faith , I always knew he had a plan for me, today I’m able to save 3k a month and invest money too, I also have a good 401k plan and I am on my way to financial freedom

And if we take the fork comparison to its practical extent; If I wanted to serve 100 people with food in my home, I would need 100 forks in order to serve those people. For me if I had the money I would hire attorneys to lobby and change the laws to be able to legalize and have raccoons as companions (I Hate the word pet) they are legal in Florida but I would want to legislate for that to be the case like it is for dogs and cats, many people have them but it's a constant fear that they will be confiscated and it's difficult sometimes to find vets to treat them so that's one thing that is very personal to me!!
