I'm a massive fan of the look of this play set, especially the color scheme and the cyborg look. Cyberskull himself (who the outside of the play set is based off), managed to stick around long enough for a follow up TV episode (and Battle Warrior Play set, Mighty Max Shuts down Cybot).
The play set comes complete with your Mighty max figure, the Central Brain (which can slot into two positions on the play set), your Cyber Surfer and the Virtual Vehicle. The Virtual Vehicle forms a headset on the outside of the set but transforms into a tank for Mighty Max to ride.

A quick note about the sculpt of the vehicle is that the top portion of it is very clearly based off of a snow speeder from Star Wars. Still an awesome playset with a great theme, and a fantastic review.

Nice! cool to see Mighty Max toys getting some love. Would be neat if the series ever got a DVD release...anyways, super review!

The Cyberskull is such an awesome set, I love it.

The cybot looks like it would go better with the beast planet than the cyberskull set in which is a shame cuz the cyberskull set has more interesting colors.

Have you found any new sets yet? I was thinking about staying to recall my childhood and start collecting this things again. With micro figures that have released since than, i have more odds and ends to add to the sets and introduce my son to the greatest franchise of the 90s.

I never had this one, and looking back, I can see why: I was always more attracted towards the sets centered around horror and "gore" themes, rather than the ones about technology and aliens.

Oh yeah, I can dig that. Wish some of them were a bit easier to get, feel like I've got most of the goriest ones now. Some of the bigger sets would be cool too :P Skullmaster and Dragon Island.

Leftovers Dragon Island was awesome. I could never convince my parents to buy it for me at the time.

Not sure I have the space anymore either! Haha, the situation is bad when I'm saying that about Mighty Max figures.

Leftovers Yeah, I hear you. I'm digging a fallout shelter just to store all the games that won't fit in the house anymore.

such a cool mighty max set I never knew existed! I have a few of the older sets myself. Will you be doing any halloween specials on this channel or your other channel?

Man, I really wish I had the capacity :\ I had a lot of stuff planned, but just no time to pull any of it off. Be sure I'm doing as much as I can behind the scenes :) Certainly found a lot of appreciation for the process and what I want to do moving forward. Thanks for sticking with me!

I much prefer this one to the robocop rip off haha... but still the other looked cool too :) I love the skull man :) the kids these days sure are missing out on toys like this :)
Also i like the way you fast forward and then slow down your footage when you show the playset :) simple yet effective :) or maybe its just me thats simple and is easily amused haha

Yup Yup, totally agree. This one was a clear favourite for me. It's a shame we didn't get the Cyberskull figure with this one instead. Appreciate you watching, maybe get a few ideas for your Skeleton Warrior review? ;)

Mighty Max overall really felt like wasted potential to me.
The idea of Polly Pocket for boys was great. But why did they have to do horror? Why didn't they instead go with astronauts or knights or cowboys or pirates or ninjas or detectives or race cars or superheroes or soldiers or literally anything else besides horror? Out of all the boys themes they could have done, they went for the one with the least mainstream appeal.
Horror stuff instantly alienates a huge number of parents. It was probably why I never got any Mighty Max stuff when I was a kid. I think it was the horror theme which prevented Mighty Max from achieving the success of Polly Pocket.
And why were all the playsets the bad guys bases? Why didn't Mighty Max get his own base? Or even better, his own space ship. Commander Keen had one. Why not Mighty Max?

      @ELINDOOR510 Před 4 lety +1

In my opinion the horror theme is what made it cool. Back in the day kids and the parents weren't so "delicated" with horror/gore /violence. At least in my case and the people I grew up with. Nowadays I would see it being a turn down on popularity with how things are with people getting offended and triggered with little things.

Yeah all that unsuccessful kids horror content like goosebumps, courage the cowardly dog, are you afraid of the dark, um what else?
      Fucking HALLOWEEN
Only some satanic panic bullshit ass parents. We don’t want their money deciding shit anyways

Your reviews are great man, any chance you have a MM Nautilus and or Hand in your collection for review? Two of the very best sets Imo. Nautilus is semi rare but hand is common enough to...get yours hands on...snicker snicker

He he, you'll be in for a treat then. I don't have it all finalized, but I'm only about 2/3rds through my collection at this stage :)

Beast wars neo also has a nautilus which would cause me to have to buy both
