Never heard of Fredy Meza but he’s very smooth and seems completely unfettered and unintimidated playing with three of the worlds best. Very impressive.
When I saw it live, I assumed it was a Hex, but you’re right, it was a Proxy. Amazing. IMO, this was more impressive than his famous putter over the water at Waco years ago.
Yeah, respect to Klein for winning that last one, but Calvin, McBeth, and Simon are almost impossible to beat as a card. Meza is no slouch, either, but the other 3 are huuuuge favorites.

As the designer of several extremely popular disc golf courses (around 200,000 rounds played annually), I think a lot of artificial OB says a lot about a course designer. It says, "I am not very good at this."

I mean Jesus, if anyone tuned in yesterday to the live coverage, they only showed him throw like 7 times on coverage and it was annoying because Fredy is my boy! Glad he shot well and didn't lose it on a card that would have made me shit my pants. Edit: for those of you who don't know Fredy, he is one of the smoothest players I have ever seen in my life. He is also one of the funniest and hard working guys too. Hope we get to hear his name a lot more!
It’s the first time I’ve gotten to watch Freddy and wow, that was impressive. He stayed solid par through this front nine with the wind agains Paul, Simon and Calvin! That’s not an easy task. I like that he was matched with these guys on this new course too. I feel like you get a good sense of skill when you put everyone on a new course that no one has played year after year. We’ll done!
Appreciate getting to see Fedy on some coverage. One of the more unknown great disc golfers to come out of Texas over the past few years. Also glad to hear he's not breaking his back with concrete and putting more time into disc golf.
Gatekeeper still lacks overhead drone shots of the holes, the disc and flight numbers the player is throwing, follow flight and other graphics overlaid on the screen
I never thought I'd defect from Jomez, but with some big steps back in production this year from them, Gatekeeper is clearly the leader for post-production. Thank you for keeping your quality high.
Yeah they definitely made some changes this year that is pretty clear most of the fans are not too pleased with. Definitely don't like how they changed the score counters. Liked it better when it was the same at gatekeeper where I could easily track what they got 3 or 4 holes earlier. And then that running leaderboard that's just a jumbled mess that throws you off because you'll look for your leaders but they will be 5 strokes back only because they haven't even teed off yet. Yeah Jomez definitely took a step back this year
I really like the bag check in all the intros. But sometimes it makes me wonder. On Mezas bag for instance I can clearly see 2 orange discs but not a single discs on the list with that color 😂.
I enjoy the low key vibes. Jomez is a bit more upbeat and sometimes goofy. But as a player I enjoy the shot analysis. If you're falling asleep watching this card that's a 'you problem'.
Honestly, this is the PREMIER card for the first round. not sure what they were thinking by giving Jomez the card they did..... I would MUCH RATHER watch this than their first round videos.
