Suggestion, blow up the scale of the tube so the car fits inside it, invert the tires and such, clip the car inside. Then watch from the POV of the kerbals. Or maybe it'll just explode.

Cool idea! A retractable landing gear might be better at dealing with the parts where it gets stuck. Also, staggering the front and back landing gears from each other might also help.
