Played on Trauma (4/4) and Nightmare (3/4) difficulty.
I don't usually record FPS games, since they are not suitable for no damage walkthrough. Painkiller, however, is an exception.

During battle with Alastor i was using the card which grants player total invincibility. That was the only way to avoid fall damage. But even with a brief invincibility, it was a very difficult boss. Some of his attacks are very hard or in some cases impossible to dodge. His flame can get you even if you hide behind debris or columns.
Tarot Cards:
Forgiveness (allows to use gold cards twice each level)
Iron Will (take no damage from any sources)
You can't fight the final boss, Lucifer, on Trauma difficulty, so i fought him on Nightmare. - Hry

I love how they envisioned Hell as a battlefield that represents War in all ages and how it represents mankind's innermost darkness instead of the standard gory fire and brimstone hell.

Quite a poetic vision, i'd say.
It's a literal interpretation of "War is Hell".
I interpreted it less as "war in all ages" and more as "the breadth of human atrocity"

That second boss really needs to start paying attention. It's sad when regular enemies are harder to kill than the boss.
Magnat Cleo he is huge cant really move well because his feet fucking spikes but thats ehat makes the game good not to fucking dark souls but enough like it to be good

Just finished this game and although I didn't care much any other boss fights, I thought the Necrogiant had some good attacks and really nice visual presentation. I don't think I'll ever forget about that one
Yep I died from it's tornado spell, the rest of the bosses are pretty much piece of cake

He literally just walked very slowly away not doing anything except taking a million shots for nearly all of the battle.
Man what I wouldn't give for a remaster of this series

@MrTophat It has little to do with the remaster these days, a lot of people especially say it is worse than the original.

The Alastor fight is possible without taking any damage, and you can manipulate him to avoid his attacks. Also you do not need Tarot Cards to negate the fall damage, there is some precise positioning at the first 2 and some heavily RNG depended on the 3rd one.
Trying to fall precisely on the pillars still inflicts massive amouth of damage, éven if you succeed avoiding all damage from Alastor, he's actually quite simple to beat despite the cheap hitscan attacks he has. I find that boss fight rather annoying than challenging, absolute bad-braindead design on some levels in this game, but then again it's made by polish people, they are notorious for bad design...

just played Painkiller One through again, so long ago I had to figure out most of the puzzles. Apart from the havok 2 physics being unmerciful twice, I'd say it was an almost perfect gaming experience. Snowy Bridge! OMG
Some enemies from this game were added in GMOD but still in work in progress.

Those 2 are the easiest, for the hammer wielding boss, just jump when he's about to slam his weapon, he can only damage you if you are still standing on ground. Timing is everything same goes when he use his fists ( after you smashed his trusty hammer )
As for lucifer, kill 66 of his ghostly soldier and then you'll be transported into his personal dimension, he'll start conjuring meteors in order to bring you down, deflect those meteors back at him ( 1 or 2 is enough ) he'll get pissed and throw his sword at you attack the sword and it will bounce back to him, done.

What's the first boss? A big ugly dead giant. What's the second boss? A bigger, uglier, even more dead giant.

I came back to painkiller: hell and damnation after 6 years. I wanted to do some steam achievements, but now I remember why I used to play it do much

the old school game designers were good tho.....
The bosses are more scarier in the game because the game has GOOd lighting but if you replace the good lighting with normal lighting the bosses look more cartoony

What makes the final boss impossible on Trauma?
It's because the story on Trauma is a little bit different. You can play all 5 chapters on lower difficulty, but on Trauma you can only play 4, after which you get a different ending. Lucifer is the boss of the Chapter 5, so you can't fight him.

Never played the game but always thought it looked cool and remembered it being in the same magazine for Mass Effect. I forget if it was game informer or what, but I thought this would be a good shooter.

The first is miniboss so does not count into your boss fights, though quite tough and interesting alike! The Swamp Thing is probably the easiest if U stick to the plan

That Lucifer boss fight was confusing... anyone care to explain...?
You need to kill 66 apparitions in order to fight lucifer, once you reach him, he'll start showering you with meteor, shoot the meteor back at him, he'll scream at you and proceed to throw his sword at you, deflect the sword back at him and he is dead.
For a final boss lucifer is a glass cannon

Trauma story is different. In trauma difficulty you have 4 chapters and 2 levels not incluced in lower difficulties. In lower ones you have 5 chapters.
