I am so confused by this tutorial, I gave up after the 3rd time I watched it. The final product that you created looks great tho! 🌻 Would you be willing to do this without a voice over & explain step by step how to do it? And I love to know measurements. It gives me a better idea if/ how to enlarge it or make it smaller. Xoxo

This is very cute. Oh, and the fold on the top piece wasn't a mistake. If you fold in the side flaps first, then fold the top piece down last, that extra 1/8" will accommodate the bulk of the whole thing with pockets and tags. That's awesome!

I've been able to get much better prints from my Canon Eco-Tank by choosing 'Properties", then the 'Main" tab. Under "Color and Intensity" , choose "Manual" . Click on "Set" . Adjust the sliders for "Intensity and Contrast". I generally set mine at 13 and 10, respectively. Unfortunately, you can't access properties from some apps. It does works in my photo-editing app. Really like this flip design. Thanks for the clear tutorial.

Take the 11x8-1/2” sheet and cut 3-1/2” off the long side making one preserving the leftover strip for vertical use.
Score the larger horizontal strip at 1/2”, 4” and 7-1/2.
Fold the tiny score back, the next two scores forward. This makes a 1/2” tab and the three pages of trifold 5” tall.
Base can be covered if too plain or just start with a decorated 8-1/2x11 piece of paper, cut and score as instructed earlier.
If using plain base, just add the decorative pockets by cutting five pieces of decorative paper (what looks to be) about 3-1/4 “ wide x 4” tall making a thumb tab opening at the top of each using a circle punch (or tracing a half circle and cutting).
The bottom strip that was cut off would be 3-1/2” x11” strip that becomes the vertical flip. Placing long side on scoreboard horizontally, score at 1” and 6” Fold small score back and next score forward.

Um... can we talk about your magical paper cutter and your confidence that comes with it?! It cuts thru like buttah! I bought a cheap “Happy” cutter. Cheap as heck, clearance -$5, free shipping, may arrive in 1-4 months...from China. I thought ... ok, math is not my favorite, but I’m a biologist and theoretically I should be able to measure and cut down to 8x8”. Nope nope NOPE! Why? It was on clearance for a reason. The msrmnts at the blade lost 1/4”. It was just marked wrong. What?! 🤦‍♀️ ... seven hundred fifty six attempts later, I figure out I’m not crazy, BUT my blade is completely dull and not only did the extras not arrive... they no longer make the cutter. 😑 Suffice it to say, I now have paper cutter PTSD and can’t use one without measuring a dozen times first. Then my hand spazzes out and I jerk it crooked at the last sec.
YOU, on the other hand, put your lovely paper down, it falls into perfect place, you don’t check it, you’re just psychic abd KNOW you did it right. You slide the blade and it goes thru like it’s battery operated....all while you’re talking!!
ID BE CUTTING PAPER ALL NIGHT IF I WERE YOU! 😂
Anyway, I’m over tired and commenting a novel. Forgive me.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TUTORIAL! Short sweet and to the point! 👍 Believe it or not, it took forever to find a tutorial as informative as yours. All the others had 367 flip outs and just kept going. Or they were DIYs on a trifold journal.
Yours was perfect! Thank you! I just subbed! ☺️

Thank you Natalie, I thoroughly enjoyed your comment! 😆 Paper cutter is a Fiskars Procision Bypass Rotary cutter. I believe that you can get them now for $50-$75. I’ve had my eye on an upgrade for years now. Was actually the one that I originally wanted then settled for this one. It’s wonderful for the price and gets the job done. It sharpens itself with each pass of the blade. So, no dull blades here 😁.

Great idea folding over the top edge of the "pocket" before cutting the notch. I can see where that would make it a lot sturdier for pulling things out of it.

BUT, I’m stuck at the end and can’t finish. 😞 She said she used 5 magnets in her first flip out. She said she only used 4 magnets for this one. HOWEVER, she only showed us where to put on 2 magnets in this tutorial? I’m STUCK & can’t finish. 😂 Where did you put the other 2 magnets on yours? You only showed where you used 2 on the closure. I’m confused where the other 2 or 3 magnets go? Unless I missed it.... I journal in the middle of the night all night. Still... I watched it a dozen times. Otherwise...it looks lovely. I’m just stuck at the magnets. 😂
