So much great jazz coming from the UK. Yussef Dayes, Alfa Mist, Kokoroko, Nubya Garcia, Ezra Collective, Joe Armon Jones, Emma Jean Thackery, Yussef Kamaal etc etc...amazing time to be alive...
Thanks!
Be sure to check Matheau Hallshall , very very good mate , he's based in Manchester, got some pharaoh sanders / loonie Liston Smith vibes !
I'm gonna check some of this artists that you mentioned!
Yes IT is!!!
There are many elevators that need this music.
this mix deserves a fucking grammy
True
literally laughed out loud. It does though! Every musician is heard equally and represented to the fullest.
how the fuck did they get the drums to sound like that?
@@Chris-vr8cd I want a tutorial!
Rory Cashmere is the fucking man
I'm surprised they've allowed you to play this absolute fire of a jam over such a dry ground.
Its the only succulent thing to digest...aurally🎉
Im hot hyped high and home alone for the night, blazing like i was 16 again. Im 38 married with kids. Cant wait to have my mind blown for 20 some minutes all by myself. #DadCore
:)
Cant wait too.
I’m working at a Restaurant rn
I Hope the manager digs the music :’)
same....48.... :)
YES!
Same
Dad life babeh! soak in the moments
what a life.... playing good music outdoors during a sunset wearing comfortable clothes and looking cool...
All we need now is Johnny Depp, some wolves, and a bottle of Sauvage 🤣🤣
The US government denied these talented performers a visa in 2017 to go to SXSW. This happens all the time and musicians like these really deserve more support than just likes on a web site.
That is beyond inexcusable.. . What would you expect from a government which has no culture, and no appreciation for it.
how much have you donated?
@@Barney-ii1no Donated? To whom? Are you suggesting I need to set up a PAC or bribe politicians? You seem to miss the point. I cannot go see a band if the US government denies them the opportunity to tour. This is also a problem for bands in Europe. The barriers going from one country to the next are excessive.
Everything about this is top tier. Cinematography - Sound Quality - Amazing Musicians. Art in its purest form.

Facts!
Yes absolutely and the location is one of thee most beautiful places in the world...
Only that weird stabilizer at 0:33…?
on the mouche!
Yussef is slowly becoming a drum wizard.
He's castin spells baby
👨🚀👈 always has been
What do you mean slowly??? Light speeds
Yeah he's not the choppiest drummer but he's got a lot of style and he grooves really hard
@@devinbrewer8956 chops are overrated. Groove is where it's at. Also, nice name
I don't understand WHAT music is... but thank God we have it.
this is clean heroin
355pm in Texas I'm at work and completely forgot I'm at work ...I was hypnotist for the whole set ....7pm we run it back with bottles red wine chill
Every once in a while I’ll hear a set, live or on YT, that makes me feel like I’ll never be the same afterwards. This is one of those sets.
same 🥺🥰
Same.
The vibe is woahhhhhhhhh
Yeah, she's a keeper
Wuts another 1
Absolutely
Bringing back vibes from an era where melody meets harmony meets improvisation. These guys inherited the spirits of the 70s and 80s of Fusion Soul Jazz and embedded them lushly and straightfowardly into the 21st. century. Great musicanship!
I am definitely starting to develop a severe addiction to the Dayes-Palladino duo hahaha
Rocco's Bass tone is sublime. 🔥🔥
Yep bass tone is off the charts good
This is why i love people. Cos we are capable of doing, making some truly beautiful things.
my dad introduced me to yussef dayes and I haven't stoped listening to him since
That drum setup is insane. Every piece of it has EXACTLY the perfect sound for this performance!
Big fan of the tortilla personally
@@TheRealestJSmith Would you happen to know what cymbal this is?
@@masonshields6809 Curious myself honestly. My buddy works at Samash, I’m gonna show him this video when we play next week.
@@masonshields6809 Could just be a random custom cymbal. I’ve got something similar, but it’s really just a big broken cymbal. Lol
Anybody got an ID on what he’s using for a kick?
14:24 Palladinio 😭😭😭😭😭 is a savage, that riff is galactic! I had to park on the side of the road, rewind & listen to the whole thing from the count in. Some guy driving by happened to be jamming it too 🤣🤣 we are now friends. ❤️. Music is the answer to world peace.
The production, the mixing the engineers working tirelessly to get the right acoustic levels, the visuals, the texture, the consistent cadence, this is why I want to quit adland and start my career in building musical experiences. S/O to Soulection, you a Keeper! We want more!!!!!
amazing comment brother it made me smile much agreed
If you ever get to see them live, mystics sounds insane with a PA system. Saw them a few days ago, and Rocco's bass sounded like a vortex sucking you in and enveloping you with the swells. highly reccomend you see them
Yes. Rocco Palladino is indeed a savage. That pocket's so deep he dropped in his car keys and they disappeared.
out of curiosity and if you feel comfortable sharing but where do you live?
I've been watchin bass players on youtube all my life
Palladino is easily on of the best right now
What a treat for the unseen desert creatures pausing to listen to this.
This ✨
Historical video. Will be referred to for generations.
Yussef and Rocco and their circle has always been just nuts but the songwriting, the dynamics, the presentation… I keep thinking the next new song or performance won’t top the last but I mean come ON. Grimy in all the right ways fellas
Type of stuff that reminds you why you’re in love with music
• love + compassion 🙏🏾 > 🎶 •
I am waiting with excitement. Greetings from Turkey Izmir
Very relax , very 😎 ,

Elijah Fox is a bad man on the keys. SO MUCH SOUL!
What you are saying is the truth my friend. That bluenote record did amazing things and Fox is a superb add on. They sound so good. The mixing is really amazing.
The triangle work from the percussionist is so underrated. Shout out to the percussionist for the background work. definitely does not go unnoticed!
It should be mandatory that every soul hear this in the morning before they start the day. The world could be a better place. Groove on my friends and share that smile.
Respect the art here and don't listen on a tiny ass cellphone!!!!! The mix is great! Love it!
My blutooth phones are just fine. Someone said galactic. Yes. 💖🕶️✌️
yooooooooooooo!!! and another one!!!!!! Love is the message has been my favorite for a while, I could give it a breather now.
I really struggle to think of a better drummer than Yussef Dayes. So much variation and imagination but never misses a beat. I never heard another drummer as musical.
The square wave bass in 'Mystics' goes SO F***ING HARD my god
“Mystics” needs to be on spotify yesterdayyy
Yussef needs to make an album with these guys
Great keyboard solos. Thought-through, quite minimalist. No "accidental notes" - randomly hitting something that is in the right scale without it having been carefully chosen - as I often hear in solo improvs. Makes it powerful and artful!
the bass swells in Mystics are so heat, Rocco so fuckin' tasty. Love how you can never really hear him play the notes but instead they kinda grow into existence and slide back out
With every performance and version of "For my ladies" I fall in love with it more and more. Just sublime.
It's the piano solo for me...... It'll take you to another dimension sonically and does so so vividly
Yup Elijah fox is no joke man is phenomenal
This is now my favorite inter-web thing.
and, i align myself with some brief cosmic trajectory, and for the shortest of moments, I am inside the frequency, and, for this momentary hiatus, a tincture for a malady~~
The sounds he gets out of that Kit are crazy, and that kick?? 🔥
For my ladies...... Oh man. My jam..... ❤️❤️❤️
Rocco on Mystics is just sublime🙂
That bass is elastic. Thick. Fuzzy. Warm. Can’t get enough of that sound.
That kick drum is GORGEOUS 😍
The sound is smooth as the scenery. This is a whole vibe. Soul healer
I don't even know what I just listened to! Wow!...ON REPEAT/ON REPEAT/ON REPEAT.
Me, too!
Creating your own electricity! ❤️🎼🌟🌍
Really loving that tortilla cymbal he's got going on.
just turn this thing louder! what a great mix!
The seventies are back! 🫵🏻 ❤🤗💃🏻❤
Today Discover You excepcional. Music 👏👏👏👏👏 greetings from Honduras
Literally thought that the bass player was wearing a cape when I clicked on the thumbnail.
You got me!
Great work guys.
Remember when you made, that on the water , jam. Sure, this is even better, off in the sun-set! Just, keep enlightenment alive. Nice, work All . Groovy!
yeah this on another lvl of astral existence. I'm not even high and I'm high on this.
Wow. What an injustice this is to not be blown up on every platform 🩷
shoutout to all the people claiming that there’s no good music in 2022 💫if you don’t look for greatness, you won’t find it 🌎
Jazz...I like you just the way you are...Watching all the way from Vanuatu
That bass drum sounds incredible.
Is it just me or does it really look like Rocco Palladino is wearing a cape, which would be totally appropriate 💝
at the end Yussef`s kick looks like the moon. It's so meditative....love it!!!
IMO Rocco Palladino is the most tasteful user of pedals/effects for bass
Mr Yussef, can you make atleast 1h30 show with this team 😭 y’all sound incredibly amazing together 😭😭💔
I have been feeling so disconnected to music lately, and you just brought back that feeling I've been longing for😭 Thank you so much. love from South Africa, Soweto❤
same
Same bro! With Love, from pretoria
11:50 love the Prince “She’s Always in My Hair” bass line quoted by Rocco
Yussef is so cold on the beat!
The way ima be creating. After listening to this..... The inspiration is crazy
What is that, what are those feelings..?
Oooh, I'm groovin.
With all due respect to those who came before, Jazz has never been better than it is now.
Love Rocco 's somehow out-of-beat basslines. Really fresh and original approach
I think there's a Jay Dilla influence there
@@mindthread3830 his dad pino played on D'angelo's voodoo, a project dilla was involved in. definitely some influence
The Dilla Effect, his influence on music is still heard today and for years to come
Yussef is cold as a polar bear toenails. Fantastic drummer 🥁
A thousand percent!! Gave me whiplash vibes
Thank you SOULECTION and Yussef Dayes and fam!
This gang is so fresh, you wouldn't believe it. Doesn't get much better.
Pink Floyd at Pompeii vibes
I accidentally discovered this and I must say, what an absolute jam! I need more of this guy's music in my life.
Me too - came across these fine musicians - and this drummer, Mr. Dayes...
I only wish the camera person would have closed in more on each musician, then pulled back,, intermittently.
Interesting symbol - never saw one like it before, with a very interesting sound. Fascinating drum style....
this ambience is so unreal considering the fact this was outdoor , AMAZING
if the aliens came down and found this we'd be saved.
What have I stumbled into? Heaven?
That last tune is the shortest and the baddest!!!🔥
Golden Hour is magical. Wow
Im going to pause this and get a nice cup of jasmine tea to drink while I melt into 'For My Ladies'. Shout out to you Yussef
3 mics on drums, 1 mic on the percussion guys, what a sound! 🔥
Very solid. Very. 👌🏿👌🏿
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
20 minutes of chasing perfection 🫶🏻👅 soulfood
This is a spiritual experience
Reminds me a little of Borboletta era Santana with Tom Coster on keys. Beautiful stuff played with such restraint and feel.
I feel like we've been watching Yussef Dayes grow up as an artist for about five years. He always had superb chops but now the taste and artistry has caught up. This is jut beautiful and his playing seems to be on a whole new level.
Will you ever perform at the Montreal Jazz Festival? Dude we need your influence in this side of the world!
The groove is so smooth and the bass is so thicc
The setting and the sunset couldn’t be more perfect for this masterpiece
THAT BASS DRUM THO!
Brilliant, definitely Joshua Tree on of the best place to see the Stars!
Smooth, hot and spicy. ❤🔥I bet those hills are jammin! ❤🔥
love this yussef so tight
Please add on spotify !!!
What a treat it would be if he did a gig with Christian Scott, Alfa Mist, Thundercat, & Tom Misch. Priceless!!!
Can we all agree this is too short ? I need more ahah
