  • OUR BEST HOOK EVER - #WIN #KORUM #HOOKS #COMPETITION
    The Korum Grappler hook is the best selling hook in our Supersteel range. We're incredibly proud to say that we designed this hook from scratch, with one goal in mind: to provide the ultimate hook-hold for anglers.
    Featuring an aggressive, curved-shank pattern and a swept-back point for improved penetration, the Grappler hook is designed to withstand even the most brutal environments. The beaked point can take a beating and still maintain its sharpness, while the large eye allows for use with thicker materials.
    But as good as the Supersteel range of hooks are, we're always looking to improve. That's why we're reaching out to you, our valued customers, for your input. Do you think we're missing a finesse-style hook in our range? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

    Favourite at the moment is the Allrounder, as the name suggests you can use it for pretty much everything. Would be cool for korum to release a hook predominately for surface fishing/stalking. Something light weight with a fine wire that would sit perfectly banded to a mixer! A good name for it would be the “stalker”

    I'm an avid (excuse the pun 😉) Korum user. I pretty much only use the Supersteel hooks, and my 'go to' patterns are the Grappler, Power, and All Rounder.
    One thing I would love to see from a Korum hook would be a nice strong curve shank hook so we can make 'Slip D' rigs and also take advantage of that aggressive angle that the hook has using popped-up or wafer style baits. I think with the new Korum coated braid (which has been a stellar move, by the way 👌🏻) it allows us to use stiffer hook lengths or rigs, especially when using helicopter style rigging, and a curve shank suits that to a tee.
    Anyway, that's my pennies' worth, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of this competition and Mat's notebook sketches!! 🎣🔥
    Good luck, everyone 😁👍🏻

    I already use the range of Korum hooks for everything from rivers to stillwaters for larger specimens to small silverfish. Considering that Spring and Summer are on the way then possibly a purpose made floater hook for surface fishing, one thats not too obtrusive when hair rigged to a chum mixer, but is sharp with Excellent hooking potential.

    It's a longshot I know 😂 but I'd love there to be a specific hope for using worms, one that keeps the worm presented on the shank nicely and stops the worms wrapping over the point. Maybe like a barb half way up the shank I'm not to sure but would definitely come in handy 😂

    Well if I have to say what is the best hook you guys from korum have, that will be the xpert power. I use them from number 6 to 14. It gives me confidence and reduced the number of lost fish. I use these for both hair rigs and hooking baits straight on the hook. This is my best all round hook when it comes to larger specimen fish. what i would like to see under the korum brand would be hook with similar pattern to the PI N30, i love feeder fishing you see, and these hooks are ideal for smaller fish as they offer a bit of fines, slightly lighter and thinner hook, which i love when it comes to feeder fishing. Also it's been quite few years since I started using korum products and they get better and better with time, while still offering great value.
    Thank you guys for your hard work. Keep it up

    Hi, Love the super steel range of hooks, the different sizes, price range and versatility is amazing. One thing that's missing in the industry is barbless hook range. Nowadays people use micro barbed, which is safer than the typical large barbed hooks, but what about we could get everyone using barbless hooks? Most than likely, a lot of people won't change to using barbless hooks otherwise it is a rule on a private stretch, i think what's missin, in this case,e is a barbless hook that acts like a barbed hook is to design the hook with small ridges or bumps along the shank that will help to hold onto the fish once it has been hooked. These ridges or bumps would create friction against the fish's mouth, preventing it from slipping off the hook, yet being easy to unhook and not having a need for a barb at all. I think this will be a game charger in the fishing barbless industry.

    • @KorumFishing
      @KorumFishing  Před rokem

      In our testing we found that the only thing that behaves like a barb, is a barb. Ridged or bumped ideas make a bigger hole than a standard barbless and more fish fall off!

    • @michalczadowski6161
      @michalczadowski6161 Před rokem

      @@KorumFishing bumps wise possibly, would create a larger entry, but that larger entry wouldn't make a difference, when the entry would width of the bump, possible ridges cut into the hook wouldn't make a larger entry point, instead it would create larger surface area, which would increase the fiction and in theory should reduce slipping off the fish. It would require some more engineering, but i still think ridges in the hook would be beneficial.

    Hi, I have a question that has nothing to do with the hooks exactly, but something you might wish to do. In the Korum videos it's not always mentioned what Korum gear is being used. It would be nice in the description to list the rod, reel, terminal tackle being used etc.. I have been fishing over 30 years so I know what goes with what. But any newbies to the sport might find it handy and it will also be good for Korums sales as a lot of people like to stick with one brand 👍 👍

    • @KorumFishing
      @KorumFishing  Před rokem +1

  • @richardneale6828
    @richardneale6828 Před rokem +1

    I use Nash hooks, but I do like the look of the grappler and I like the idea of longer shank, do you do barbless?

  • @martinweaverallroundangling

    I'm akways looking for a hook with a similar aggressive profile with a perfect guage of metal that gives strength but enables you to put maggots onto the hook with as little to no damage as possible to keep them wrigglers alive and kicking without popping them.
    I currently use Gardner mugga in size 12 and i can just about get them past the barb without damaging them to much, msybe a micro barb would be better.
    For me its use on the river as an allround hook for Barbel, Chub, Bream and pretty much whatever comes along is important to me in low, clear conditions using maggots bunched up directly on the hook.
    Another imprtant aspect would be for the metal to not be so smooth that the bunch of maggots slides down the hook but to keep them up the shank and around the curve without them ending up bunched just on the curve.
    The latter not being as important but still a aspect to having a great Maggot hook for a catch almost all hook.
